Okay, I normally do the "what's coming out this week?" stuff at my office, but there's way too much hitting stores today for me to do a complete list, so I'll just list some of the highlights. Don't lynch me.
Superhero Stuff
Gotta mention the live-action version of Fantastic Four, for which every single store on the planet seems to be offering its own unique bonus disc. Okay. There's a lot of other action/superhero/whatever DVDs coming out too, including the He-Man and She-Ra Christmas Special, the second season of Gargoyles, and additional volumes of Batman: The Animated Series, Power Rangers SPD, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Superman: The Animated Series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Thundercats.
Other Animation
There's another wave of Walt Disney Treasures releases -- more Donald Duck, Spin and Marty, a rarities set, and Elfego Baca and The Swamp Fox. Other releases include The Proud Family Movie and additional volumes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Garfield and Friends.
TV-on-DVD
I usually group all of these by season, which I guess is pretty arbitrary, so instead of rattling them off in paragraph form, I'll just do a list in alphabetical order:
24: Season 4
Everybody Loves Raymond: Season 5
Full House: Season 2
Green Acres: Season 3
Jackass: Volume 1
Law & Order: The Fourth Year
MacGyver: Season 4
Magnificent Seven: Season 1
M*A*S*H: Season 9
Murder, She Wrote: Season 2
Newlyweds: Final Season
Rockford Files: Season 1
Roseanne: Season 2
Saved by the Bell - The New Class: Seasons 6 and 7
Super Nanny: Season 1
That's So Raven: House Party
The West Wing: Season 5
Theatrical
The biggest recent theatrical releases are Cinderella Man and The Dukes of Hazzard (both coming out in a variety of different editions), along with the previously mentioned Fantastic Four and the limited release of Jenny McCarthy's Dirty Love.
Criterion Collection
There are two titles being added to the Criterion Collection this week -- Forbidden Games and Shoot the Piano Player.
Other Catalog Titles
There are a bunch of catalog titles being dusted off, which is good news if you're into American Ninja or Delta Force, but some other highlights worth pointing out are the original Fun with Dick and Jane, Konga, and Where the Sidewalk Ends. A box set of some of Pam Grier's best known movies are being packaged in the "Fox in a Box" collection.
For a list of some of the best prices as well as the latest price drops for existing titles, check Mike Frezon's weekly thread on the Home Theater Forum (http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/showthread.php?t=227036) and SalesCircular.com (http://www.salescircular.com/). A relatively comprehensive list of this week's releases can be found at DVD Talk (http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/bargain.php) and ComingSoon.net (http://www.comingsoon.net/dvd/).
So -- what are you getting this week? I'm still hopelessly backlogged (stupid Xbox 360!), so it'll be a while before I buy anything new.
