"I think shes...an ALIEN!":p

That line was just so perfect.

Although, the flying saucer bit was little out of place. But it does add to the Steampunk feeling to the series.

I hope that Blonde woman (that Chimeria person, forgot her name) will be ok in the end. But knowing how these things work out...

I loved how they wiredtaped the Furher's phone. That was so neat.

So we finally get confirmation on Sloth's human identity (not that it was needed, just having the 2 in the same episode was enough proof).

Loved fuzzball Ed.

Still waiting for Winry and Roy to cross paths..

Heh, just a few days ago I was wondering if we'd ever see those two again. Good episode, but I wonder how Winry and Sciezka can hope to survive. Its not like Sloth can't just track them down 5 minutes after they leave...

Pretty interesting Sloth didn't seem to know her identity.

-HumbleWell, as the episode based on Lust showed, Sins only had partial fragments of the original person's memory. Otherwise Lust would have known Scar the moment she layed her eyes on him.

However, like any normal person, they can find out who they were by being told. It's just so happens that Lust and Sloth are the two youngest Sins, and doesn't know so much about themselves...

Felt like a pretty standard episode, nothing too great or bad about it. Next week's looks interesting, though.

I give With River's Flow a C+.

Ode to the Glasses Girl indeed. It's more the personality than the glasses, though. Hell, why do you think the main character in my comic IS a glasses girl? :P

It doesn't help that my first love was a real-life glasses girl, much like Scieszka, actually, but Scieszka is much more... animated.

This ep gets 8/10 from me, just because of the afro Ed. He looked so stupid. Winry and glasses lady in the Uniforms, now that is hot. What was that water thing anyway I don't know who the face was, at least I didn't recognize it. Hey who do you think was hotter Winry or Glasses lady, I would have to go with Glasses lady. Hey don't be haten because you know what they say about girls with glasses. ;)

Sloth's power is to turn herself into water. Hence she was "dripping" herself through the floor and into the underground duct, trying to catch the person snooping. And yes, Winry would recognise that face, as she knew Ed's mum too.

That alien theory was great!

While watching the stuff with Al and Marta, i dont see what the big deal is with vengance. WHY are they going after scar then if not to stop him from what hes doing?
I was thinking a while back, was before epsiode 25..to when Scar Ed and Al were talking and Al said something like if scar killed ED, he would want to avenge his death. I cant remeber how he said it but i kno like scar, when he said about his brothers death and geting back at the military, Al responded with SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF, ID DO THE SAME THING IF THAT HAPPEN TO YOU BROTHER.
*take off the caps sorry*
So wouldnt Al be going back on what he had said if hes telling Marta revenge is wrong??

Will this get explanied next week, or does it just move on with ED and Al trying to get rid of Scar which by the way I don't think will happen.

I thought Winry was referring to her own mother when she recognized Sloth.

Meanwhile, we find out that Al has a thing for Winry, nevermind that she might be physically- if not mentally and emotionally- older than him (I'm assuming that if Al ever gets his body back, he'll be back to the same age he was when Sloth was created).

Actually Al seems more mature than Winry both mentally and emotionally. As for Sloth guess we now who was use to make her. BTW is Al and Ed father alive? I remenber Al mention to Ed to ask for his help before they started fighting.

His whereabouts are unknown, though I'm pretty sure he'll show up eventually. Dante seemed to know him.

A moment from the movie "Abyss" there (with the glasses girl thinking the face on the water stream was an alien). I'm glad they said outloud that Sloth is made from Ed and Al's mother. Although I doubt it, it would be nice if from now on she would rethink her plans so as not to harm them.

It was cute how it was mentioned that Ed and Al fought over who was going to marry Winry when they were kids.

I hope Marta (blonde snake woman) doesn't get killed... we just got introduced to her and she's a friend of Al's after he was armor form.

I wonder if Winry is going to tell them about seeing their mom? At first I thought it was sloth but nah that's not what she does and then when I looked at the face total freak out that it was her.

Hahaha, I would have died under there, I don't do well being chased by water forget the human shape part. (fear of drowning ya know)

Pretty good episode... I'm thinking that, like the other sins (well, Lust at least), Sloth wasn't aware of who she used to be. When Winry revealed that she was in fact Ed and Al's mom (or at least, this seems to be the final conclusion), that's when Sloth hesitated in her apparent 'kill the eavesdroppers' mission.

I'm assuming this signals either a change in her motivation from now on, or at least a little questioning of her origins and whether or not she should actually be helping the others kill the Elrichs after all. That seems to be where this is going, anyway.

I really liked this episode a good mix of comedy and drama. The Ed frizzy hair is still cracking me up. The brothers quarrel in town was good, its about time they used their alchemy for something fun. It was nice to see the girls together they were actually funny and I'm glad Sciezka is looking in on Hughes death. I want to know when Ed and Al are gonna find out about it. He was one of the best characters on the show. Its not right that he died.

Now I might have missed something along the series or just forgotten but why are the sins trying to kill the Elric brothers?

The question is what are Ed and Al gonna do if Sloth does turn out to be their mother in homunculus form.

The question is what are Ed and Al gonna do if Sloth does turn out to be their mother in homunculus form.Well... Wrath doesn't want to kill Ed directly, he just want to have the rest of Ed's body as his own. How? Beats me, but kids don't always think rationally.

Envy has a personal vendetta against the Elrics. Even though he isn't suppose to harm the brothers, it seems like he would ignore the orders if he can get away with it...

Gluttony just wants to eat anyone he lays his eyes on, so nothing special there.

The rest of the Sins don't pose a threat to the Elrics directly at all. But they do indeed follow the Elrics around. Let it be known that the Sins have killed more people than Scar ever will. The brothers at least know what Scar is motivated by; but they have no idea what the Sin's "Master" really wants. Therefore the Sins are more dangerous.

The question is what are Ed and Al gonna do if Sloth does turn out to be their mother in homunculus form.
Sloth is their Sin. They can either face it or run away, but the fact that Sloth is their responsibility could never change.

I really didn't like this episode all to much...it was kind of just...dumb. The only thing I liked about it was when the camera WASN'T on Ed and Al, I mean, if they are going to act like idiots that I dont wanna see them. Alien theory was good for the humor aspect, but next week looks better...

A.MagikGood idea, except that Envy doesn't know that the Elrics don't know.

Anyway, as I said Envy isn't allowed to kill the Elrics right now. They are the Sins' best shot at getting the PhS, and Master will be very angry if Envy messed it all up.

Looks like Sheizka and Winry are trying to get to the bottom of Hughes murder!
I'm not surprised that Winry doesn't trust Sheizka as much as Sheizka trusts her. ;) She obviously has her reasons! Do Ed and Al sure fight a lot! What is the reason this time? Here are some questions: How did Sloth knew that the girls were listening to her conversation? Why didn't she killed them? I bet she would have if the other military guys didn't show up! How is Ed's and Al's mom responsible for starting the war in Ishbal/Liore?

Who in their right mind would hire Sloth to be his personal secreatry? I think we know who the big boss is! or maybe she was hired to spy on the Fuher's actions!

It's been awhile since I was around here. College finals suck.

Anyways adoptedBatpuppy, Sloth knew that she was tapped by the static interference in her phone call. Sloth didn't kill the girls because Winry called Sloth Ed and Al's mom and she hesitated. There was an earlier explanation that the war in Ishbal was started by a soldier killing an Ishbalan child and that soldier was named Juliet Douglass. People do not know that Douglass is Sloth...or do they?

It's always a good sign when there's a batch of "slow episodes" as it means they saving up their animation budget for a big fight scene.

Although, I knew that Sloth had to be Trishia Elric beforew this episode's reveal, because Al said he heard his mother's voice when Sloth spoke for the first time during the Doctor Marcoh episodes. That was some REALLY early foreshadowing.

David Lucas
12-08-2005, 12:36 PM
Yeah, I actually didn't catch that the first time Al said it. Sloth told Marcoh, "This way, please."

And Al says, "Brother.....I think I just heard mom's voice." To which Ed replies "You just had a brush with death, don't go getting all crazy on me."

If you look at Ed's face, he's really hurting when he says that. When he first meets Sloth in Mustang's office when Central relocated, he looks at her quite suspiciously for almost 10 seconds.

The foreshadowing in the series really is one of the highlights, cause like I said before, there are things just sitting under your nose the whole time and then when you finally see it exposed you just feel like an idiot if you didn't see it coming.

I didn't know she was Trisha until Winry pointed it out, I almost crapped myself.

so why is she called sloth

and when did Huse die and how:confused: 1. I believe she is called sloth because she shows no emotion (which was the original meaning of sloth when it came to the deadly sin).

2. Hughes died in episode 25. Basically, with Ed informing him about the homunculi and him discovering discovering some interesting information about the Ishbam war, Hughes discovered that there was something going on with the Feurher's secretary. Thus, realizing that her cover may be blown, Sloth had Envy pose as one of the soldiers that was under Hughes post and then subquently kill him.

But you still need to give him credit for staying alive as long as he did becuase even after sloth and envy knew that Hughes knew, Hughes was still able to put up some sort of a fight, literally. He went down swinging. :(

Had Sloth and Envy not been Homunculi, Hughes would have mopped the floor with them. It wasn't a fair fight, really, since you'd have to do what Dante did to Greed to weaken him enough so that Ed could beat him - that is, expel the red stone material from their bodies. Then they are weak enough to kill.

It's a testament to just how bad ass Hughes was that he lasted that long.

Hughes knew the truth at a bad time; It's not so much what he knows, but who he can tell the truth to.

Al knows (just Al), but he isn't really in the army. He doesn't have many connections, and his only source of evidence(a witness) just died.

She doesn't. She just saw a water-elemental that has features of Trisha Elric.

Winry can't have made the connection between the Fuhrer's secretary and that creature she saw, because she never met the secretary.
