TVshowsondvd.com confirms from WB themselves that THE ADVENTURES OF BRISCO COUNTY JR., starring Bruce Campbell, will finally be released on DVD in Spring 2006. The set will also contain bonus features, something I was hoping for and had expected not to get.
This awesome news! I loved this show and have wanted it on DVD for about the last five years or so, ever since the first rumors showed up. And even though it's only one season, at least there's no unresolved cliffhanger finale to worry about. Spring '06 can't come soon enough!
Here's the actual update - http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=4615

About damn time. I too love the fact that the series never pulled a The Fugitive or Lone Gunmen and had a cliffhanger to grab the network by the stones into a renewal that never came. Awesome two-part last episode with an ending and a set I am REALLY looking forward to.

I agree, a great ending that could function as both a season finale or a series finale, which it ended up being. There obviously was room for many more adventures, but nothing is really left hanging.

And how much ass would it kick for there to someday be a Brisco County Movie made? Heck, it could even be the kind of B movie Bruce Campbell is famous for!

A BRISCO movie would be awesome! We should have gotten that instead of the craptastic WILD WILD WEST movie.
Bruce Campbell and the rest of the cast have remained good friends since the show ended, so I hope we get some cast commentaries. I bet they would be really fun to listen to.
(And incase anyone was wondering, the John Bly storyline did not end because the show was not going to have a second season. Co-creator Carlton Cuse said they didn't even know the fate of the show at that point, but felt the Bly storyline had gone as far as it could have, so they decided just to wrap it up and end the hunt for Bly.)

Now I don't have to.
Oh, and I discovered that Carlton Cuse is a producer on Lost.

Cool. Glad my trivia didn't go to waste, then. :)
I noticed that, also. Cuse was also an executive producer in NASH BRIDGES, which, as a result, guest starred a lot of BRISCO COUNTY alumni. Virtually all the major and recurring cast members, except Bruce Campbell and Julius Carey, appeared at one time or another. (One episode of NASH was even a reworking of BRISCO's land pirates episode, complete with the same actor playing the lead pirate! LOL!)

I can't wait for this release!! I didn't watch the show when it first aired, but watched them all on TNT when they repeated them. Bruce is da man!! Did you guys watch Bubba Ho-Tep!? It's cheesy B-movie Bruce at his finest!! :D

I was mostly disappointed with BUBBA HO-TEP. I thought Bruce Campbell gave a really good performance (perhaps his best ever), and Ossie Davis was a delight. But otherwise, I wouldn't call it my favorite or Bruce Campbell's best like so many others have.

It's cheesy B-movie Bruce at his finest!! :DI got to disagree with you, I find "The Man with the Screaming Brain" to be Bruce Campbell's finest work to date.
And not just in acting, Bruce Campbell as wrote and directed "The Man with the Screaming Brain" as well. :zim:
And though that movie has some technical flaws, with a little more experience I feel Bruce Campbell could turn out to be a very good writer and/or director.

I couldn't get into SCREAMING BRAIN at all. I watched about the first 40 minutes or so, then turned it. Maybe I'll rent the DVD sometime and try it again.

The comicbook adaption or as Bruce Campbell calls it the Director's cut of Man with the Screaming Brain is in my opinion way better than the actual movie.
