I've thought this for awhile but never really said it here (many of you may have.) The Family Guy, American Dad, and at times, Boondocks commercials on Adult Swim are the worst (especially Family Guy's.) I just hate how they show one whole scene from the commercial rather than a short clip. For those who haven't seen the episode it ruins a whole joke for that person or even the person who's already seen it (i.e. they shouldn't have done the "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" bit or the new one with Peter and Stewie attacking Lois.) Maybe that's just me though...

I liked the Peanut Butter Jelly Time ad.
I think the joke is funny and it would have been fine if they showed part of that scene in the commercial, but the whole scene? I don't know, maybe I'm being a bit nitpicky but it just takes away from the whole scene when you watch the episode if they actually put ALL of it into the commercial.

I'd have to agree with you, but I suppose it's better at catching the viewer's attention, and with that, eventual ratings. Cause despite the spoil, people in class still seem to manage to laugh at it while seeing the whole episode.

Like you said, it is somewhat of a spoiler, but it got me wondering why Brian was doing that(I missed the episode). Anyways, why was Brian doing the Peanut Butter Jelly Time dance?

Heh, I admit it, I'm a Law and Order fan/junky who watches it whenever he sees it on. I even watched that 6 hour tnt marathon on the friday after thanksgiving. I don't usually watch SVU or CI as they just don't urk me right, i'm fine with the same old Jerry Orbach,S. Epatha, and Sam Waterson eps.

They never do any significant traffic. One of you guys can make them, 6 replies or so seems hardly worth the effort though.

I'll just repeat what about a million people have said before me-

WHY THE HELL WASN'T WELCOME TO ELTINGVILLE PICKED UP? It could have been better than Venture Bros, and Venture Bros. is my favorite show ever.

EDIT: I'm fully aware that Evan Dorkin is hard to work with, but he couldn't be so bad that they'd reject this show just over that.

Hmm... I wonder if they'll be picking up another season of Stroker? Personally I prefer not, but hey it sounds like it might be getting TGTTM ratings, and that's getting a second season so maybe...

I know that Thanksgiving was only 2 days prior, but is that really the reason? I personally doubt it, even though I love FMA & Champloo and think they're a great way to open the block. BTW, The Boondocks is kicking butt on both blocks!

Looking at it now, the pilot isn't too bad and I think if it continued, it could be a real funny and enjoyable show. The trivia-off IMO is STILL TOO LONG, but hey it's not like Family has jokes overdone and even some of the other AS shows. Actually, this show would probably fit in today's trend of pop culture shows in the lines of Family Guy, American Dad, Robot Chicken, and The Boondocks.

Either that or it's Megas without the giant robots... Well okay that's a stretch.

This was my first time seeing the pilot and I really wish it was picked up as a series because that was quite entertaining.

I can't feel bad about it knowing the humongous plot flaw in that Seymour is fossilized standing up yet he dies laying down in his sleep. I actually question how Seymour came to be fossilized, not what position he was in. I mean, they found him at Panuchis, so does that mean Panuchi buried him under the floor or in the back? I know Panuchi didn't run a clean pizzeria, but come on.

TGTTM is getting another season? Cripes, can I have what Williams Street is smoking? Maybe I could watch the show then :¬/

I liked the pilot the first time I saw it, and still like it :¬) And as for flaws... look at the pilots for the shows that have made it onto AS. Most of them are pretty terrible compared to the what finally ended up getting produced.(Venture Brothers comes to mind, a show I love whose pilot I hated)

Jurassic Bark. Sadness...:crying:

No matter how many times you see it man, no matter how many times you see it.

I hated this episode the first time I saw it, because I felt it just piled on too much. I thought I'd been too hard on it and gave it another watch. Damn thing made me cry. Not the type of a cry I like either. I still hate this episode.

I can't feel bad about it knowing the humongous plot flaw in that Seymour is fossilized standing up yet he dies laying down in his sleep.

The various other incongruities of the show in almost every episode didn't keep you from the funny, though, eh?

Technically I can see what you mean -- internal consistency and lack there of -- but were you so disengaged from the show at the time you first watched it as to spot that immediately?

I actually question how Seymour came to be fossilized, not what position he was in. I mean, they found him at Panuchis, so does that mean Panuchi buried him under the floor or in the back? I know Panuchi didn't run a clean pizzeria, but come on.

Shouldn't you also be questioning how Fry's parents managed not to see him in the cryo-tube? Or how the Cryoclinic workers managed not to notice that one of a small number of tubes in the room in which they worked had a new and unaccounted for occupant? Or how the cast could be standing that close to the magma unprotected? Or how the Professor's kerjigger could bring a fossilized creature back to life with its memories intact?

Does your suspension of disbelief really go that far, but no farther? :¬)

Futurama can have a strong sense of continuity.....when it wants to. When its usefull.

IF it furthers the plot, like1) in the finale where they mention how the worms gave Fry the ability to play his musical instrument, leading up to him making a deal with the Robot Devil, 2) how magnets are supposed to make Bender let go of his inhibitions and sing folk music, such as the Folk music episode using that while it was first brought up in the second episode, 3) the first crew being killed by space insects, 4) the Professor/Mom romance, or 5) or-the why and how Fry got frozen-than sure, they'll use that.

But there's plenty of times Bender has a magnet on him and it does nothing, or the fact that in the first episode the chips came in an envelope saying space wasps, but later on their bees. And what's the deal with Bender and Elzar being chummy in the episode where Bender is dating the ship, but in an earlier episode he and Elzar duked it out, culinary style?

When the writers are going off plotlines that were established in the early episodes in order to make a dramatic episode, revealing something that was hidden all that time, or are trying to be clever by using gags from earlier episodes to come up with new plots, than they seem to care.

Aside from that, its seems they didn't care about continuity, at least over little stuff.

(I'm not excusing them, just pointing what I've assumed from their actions. Hell, they could've just goofed, it'll be easy with the different directors and writers. Not excusing them though, isn't there a job specifically for watching out for this type of thing?)

P.S. Granted they could've easily avoided that by having the fossiled Seymour in a layed down position.

We could also assume that Seymour didn't die THEN, but died standing up later. But that would be FAR less dramatic than him dying in his sleep in front of us, AND would still be fans coming up with theories trying to make sense of what could be a mistake on the writer's part.

And it still wouldn't explain how he was fossilized instead of rotting, unless Mog was right about Panuchi burying him, but conditions would STILL have to be just right to be fossilized instead of being maggot food.....UNLESS something happened, like that part of New York was covered in something, like some environmental diaster covered them in soot or something, since Panuchi was also fossilized.....but only PART of him, while Seymour was intact.....which DOES happen in real-life sites with partial and complete skeletons, but I doubt the flash fossil theory would hold up for this...plus all the other illogical moments in the same exact episode CaptainRed mentioned.............

Hell, the biggest nitpick that's not even a plothole could be that, for all of the planning they did back in the beginning, resulting in fantastic dramatic episodes, that one of them featured a character who never showed up with the rest of Fry's family in the flashbacks, but retconned into the show. NOOOT a bad thing, but ironic the retconning created one of the best episodes in the show.

...It was a mistake on the writers' part, but then most of the stuff in the show is unbelieveable. If you think all THAT up there is more thought than is required, than DON'T get me started on the science of cryogenics and how it is NOT how the show protrayed it.
