Hey, just wondering, when is it projected that all 51 episodes of FMA will be released on DVD? And since Ive never bought anime before, isnt there some deal where usually the last DVD comes with a box for the others? Or am I way off?

My memory's rusty, so somebody correct me if I'm off:

There are going to be 13 volumes for FMA. Volumes 1, 6, and 10 have a tin packaged with them optionally. The breakdowns are 4 episodes per DVD (except for one, most likely the last, which will only have 3).

I think FUNimation usually works on a 6-8 week release schedule. Given Volume 6 just came out this month (early November), and if they stay on schedule (a six-week) schedule, then the last volume would be out by the end of September '06.

If FUNi goes back and releases the series in box sets/packages, it most likely will not be the entire series in one box, but most likely three sets packaged as they currently are if you just got the tins now (Vol. 1-5 in one set, then 6-9 and 10-13).

the "Guess the FMA Release Schedule" I made, puts vol 13 out in December 06. And the third starter box in June

Basically the releases are every 8 weeks now. Volume 7 is already confirmed for January 10, 2006 & Volume 8 is 8 weeks later on March 7, 2006. If they continue that trend (and the last 4 releases have all been 8 weeks apart), then Volume 10 comes at the end of June and Volume 13 in mid December, but they may make it where it's the beginning of each month.

I'd assume it'll look like one of these:
Volume 7- January 10, 2006
Volume 8- March 7, 2006
Volume 9- May 2, 2006
Volume 10- June 27 or July 5, 2006
Volume 11- August 22 or September 5, 2006
Volume 12- October 17 or November 7, 2006
Volume 13- December 12, 2006 or January 9, 2007

Ok, thanks, that's what I wanted to know. That's actually sort of sooner than I expected, but I wouldnt know. Are the versions with the tins sold pretty much anywhere DVDs are sold?

Any store that has a dedicated anime section would probably have the tins. Anywhere else, you'd probably be lucky if they had the latest volume.

Does include any corporate stores because I dont know where to look locally besides like Best Buy and stuff at like the mall? I guess there's always the internet, though?

Yeah, I went there (Best Buy) and actually saw the first or second season on the shelf and it contained the CD for the show along with it. Suncoast had theirs a little pricer then Best Buy price. So, I would rather go to Best Buy than Suncoast.

At least around here, Best Buy stores tend to have at least twice as much anime than Suncoast. Suncoast will be more likely to have obscure releases, though.
