2 words, get boomerang. Cartoon Network has not forgotten the Goldy Oldy cartoons. Thats why they made boomerang. Atleast be thankful that Cartoon Network made the channel. Now comming to you, I think they should of kept Looney Tunes on Satuday morning. Cartoon Netowork cares about ratings ( i would too if owned a station) but no matter what they do Nick whoops them in ratings. So it must be they are getting better ratings now than what they had going with Looney Tunes.
Cartoon Network has moved on. People should move on too. not saying you cant miss a show. i do.
To your poll i cant really vote. Do you want what you want or do you relize that the majority is not for what you belive. So what can I say

How come everyone seems so committed to dedicating Cartoon Network towards repeats of the shows they liked?
We DO HAVE Boomerang for this purpose, y'know. Although I've heard that apparently no one in the US gets it...
Admittedly, Looney Tunes are a part of our animation heritage that should never be forgotten. But you know what? I've never seen UPA's "Rooty Toot Toot" before, or any of the old Fleischer toons. Why not show THEM as well? I've sat through the late '40s and '50s Warner Bros. cartoons more than a few times, and while they are true bone fide classics, maybe a little classic toon novelty could be rotated around a bit?
Maybe?

Not everyone can get access to Boomerang. Luckily I do at my house, and let me tell you, Boomerang is slowly becoming the dumping ground for modern cartoons CN doesn't want. Tickle U, Baby Looney Tunes, etc. They also have a bunch of the old 80's kiddified shows like Pup Named Scooby Doo and Tom and Jerry Kids.

But the problem is, boomerang is not widely available. It was supposed to end up being at least a digital cable channel, but most digital providers don't even carry it! Basically, if you don't have sattilite or time warner cable you're stuck! Besides, Cartoon Network is supposed to be a unique miz of the new and the old. That is what I think made it so great.

Yeah, you're right. I am not as fortunate as you to have boomerang, even though I have digital cable, but I check their schedules often. Now I'm seeing baby looney tunes and even tickle U there! So you guys saying that showing Looney Tunes and other classics on boomerang is it's purpose, tuner broadcasting sure doesn't seem to think so! Bring Looney Tunes back to Saturday morning. I mean, you have to admit the CN saturday moring is nothing but repeats of camp lazlo, which is only like 10 episodes, and shows that are already show another 50 times in the day. I think reserving a half hour to an hour for looney tunes is not gonna hurt anything, or stop you from seeing your cartoon cartoons.

Get DIRECTV or Dish Network. We really had it with digital cable so we got DIRECTV.

It would be nice if Looney Tunes at least aired on Saturday Mornings on CN, but it's not gonna happen. I am lucky enough to have Boomerang since I have Dish Network though.

I would say either get DISH Network or DirecTV, or start buying the Looney Tunes Golden Collection DVDs.

I voted yes that CN should air Looney Tunes again, but I should have voted no, because what are we going to get if CN does bring back Looney Tunes: edits for content, time compression, mediocre video transfer. I say, if you have the cash, go out and get The Golden Collections, volumes 1, 2, and 3 (or wait for 4 if none of your faves are on 1, 2, and 3). They're uncut, they have beautiful prints (some DVNR issues are in some cartoons, but if you're not like those Golden Age of Cartoons nerds who think that one millisecond of DVNR spoils the entire 7 minutes, then you'll hardly notice it), they're not compressed for time, and you can watch them without logos, crawls, and other graphics on the screen.

I would say either get DISH Network or DirecTV, or start buying the Looney Tunes Golden Collection DVDs. Yeah, that's all well and good for people who have that option. But I know a bunch of classmates who dorm at college and they only have access to basic cable. CN and Nick is all they get in terms of cartoons (yeah, we watch cartoons, too:p). So if any of them want LTs, they're out of luck.
As for the LTGC, I don't know how much they're selling for where you are, but they're $50 + tax where I'm at! I'm saving up my pennies for Vol. 3, but I'll probably have to wait a long time before I'll get my hands on a copy.

Personally, I think that Cartoon Network itself should be reserved for cartoons from the 1980's, 1990's, and 2000's, and that Boomerang should be reserved for cartoons in the 1970's and before.
That being said, I think that Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies (as well as the classic Hanna Barbera cartoons) certainly deserve to be on TV, and aired on a regular schedule; but I think that they should be aired on Boomerang, not Cartoon Network. Also, Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies should be considered one of their "go to" shows on Boomerang, and as such be treated with the respect a sports team does one of their franchise players.

wrong. Nick has kept shows such as spongebob that has aired before some cartoon cartoons. Cartoon Network moved to quickly to air other things IMO.
Boomerang is going just going to repeat what Cartoon Network has shown. soon boomerang will have cartoon cartoons.

My opinion stands. If they repeat Looney Tunes, then they should repeat everything else made then too. Give me something old that's new! If that isn't too much of an oxymoron.

Well, according to the schedule posted at the Boomerang forum, they'll be showing "What's New Scooby Doo?" and "Dexter's Laboratory" come January 2006.

CN has lost most of its diversity over the past couple of years. This could help bring back a little bit of it.
I'm all for it, just as long as they don't put it in some obscure time-slot (*cough5AMcough*).

They probably just need another CN Channel...
I've always thought that Toonami & Adult Swim had enough content to make those two blocks into its own channel (with Adult Swim being to Toonami as Nick at Nite is to Nickelodeon).

The Looney Tunes are the cartoons that helped put Cartoon Network on the map, in addition to the MGM and Hanna-Barbera cartoons in their library. None of these cartoons are in heavy rotation on the network anymore, and Boomerang isn't readily available to enough people. I say bring back all the classics, not just the Warner cartoons.

I agree. CN used to be so awesome. I could watch clssic HB shows like Scooby Doo and the Jetsons and great Looney Tunes, and there was still plenty of time left on the schedule for new shows. As good as Foster's and Camp Lazlo are, I say instead of showing them 3 times a day, sow them once or twice and put a clssic cartoon in the empty time slot. There's no veriety anymore.

Cartoon Network is even available here in India. Boomerang is not. My cable operator hasn't even heard of Boomerang. I think Cartoon Network should be switched with Boomerang, Boomerang should be renamed Newmerang and it should air anime all day!
How I miss the classics! Bring back Boomerang as Cartoon Network! :)
