So, now that Sensui’s gone I can no longer be a psychopath’s shadow.

The final season of Yu Yu Hakusho is here. Former Detective Shinobu Sensui has been defeated. How will Spirit World deal with the Mazoku Spirit Detective? Find out on “Topside” at 5:30 AM Eastern on Cartoon Network.

Last Time on YYH:

Yusuke gets posessed by a mysterious demon and finally achieves his true Mazoku form. Posessed Yusuke then starts brutally beating Sensui. After a couple minutes of senseless beating, Yusuke throws Sensui up into the air and fires a supercharged spirit gun. Yusuke comes back to normal (but with long black hair instead of white hair) right when Sensui gets blasted. Yusuke and the others go to Sensui's dying body and get a visit from Itsuki who tells everyone about Sensui's terminal illness. Koenma asks Sensui why he started this plan in the first place. Sensui explains that ever since he was child he was tormented by demons for no reason. When he was a detective, he adopted the "Demons are bad" mindset until the Black Black Club incident. When Shinobu learned about his illness, he wanted to go to Demon World to die like one of the lost demons he killed as a detective. We also learn that Amanuma/Gamemaster was revived by Koenma before Koenma arrived in the cave to save Yusuke. Sensui died and Itsuki took the body away. Yusuke FINALLY discovered his long hair and explains how he didn't REALLY beat Sensui in his fight. Yusuke then gets anxious in finding the one who intruded on the fight. Koenma tells Yusuke that the SDF would be finishing up sealing the portal soon so they will be trapped if they stay. Koenma gives Yusuke the choice to either stay in Demon World or go back to Human World. Yusuke made his decision: he's going back home.

Episode Summary Courtesy of the http://YuYuHakusho.com (http://yuyuhakusho.com/) :

Yusuke and team return topside to the waiting arms of their friends. But all is not well. King Yama’s soldiers arrive saying that they must destroy Yusuke once and for all. Could this be the end? How much energy does the Spirit Detective have after his exhausting battle with Sensui?

Spoilers: If the episode has already aired you do not need to worry about using spoiler tags. If you must comment on episodes that have not yet aired you will need to use spoiler tags due to the number of people who have not seen the rest of the series. Also keep in mind that mods have to read these, they are people too and don't need to know about future details that could destroy their enjoyment of the episodes to come (i.e. the final arc that starting next week). Thank you!

Malex’s YYH Forecast: Hey, I wonder what happened to the Seven after this case (especially Hagiri ^.^ [/fake fangirl]).

If you prefer a more literal adaptation and you have a better understanding of the Japanese names, you will likely find Reikai Tantei (http://www.reikai-tantei.cjb.net/) useful as well. NOTE: Starting next week, I will begin to study for finals and my spring semester will be a bit hectic. So, I'm not going to do ANY of the Three Kings episode talkbacks except for the final episode. I would like someone to be held responsible for the rest of the talkbacks.

well it was nice to see some resolution with sensui and all of his "minions". I guess sensui got a fine fair ending (one that also all of the yaoi fanboys and fangirls will really enjoy). I think the expression on everyone's face when yusuke came back from demon world was a bit priceless. All in all, a pretty good episode to set things up for the demon kings arc of yu yu hakusho especially seeing all of the trouble koenma is in.
Alas very little botan action...eh well...we got to see a lot of genkai so that balances it out...
8/10

I've always thought this was one of the weaker episodes in the series. It's basically a summary of what happened to the characters that were introduced in this saga because we will only see one of them in the 3 Kings saga. The episodes building up to it were great, but these summary episodes are weak when they contain little to no action.

MY QUESTION HAS BEEN ANSWERED! Even in the edited version, Itsuki is still gay. I can rest easy now.

Anyway, nice episode. Beginning was nice with Keiko being the only one to recognize Yusuke even with the extra 5 feet of hair. Seeing how the lives of Sensui's psychics was nice. I especially liked Doctor's.

Can't wait for next week's episode. Poor Koenma and his big, mean daddy.

yay I finally got to see AND hear a full new episode thanks to my new tape! Yusuke is such a buzzkill a whole episode filled with great and happy closure and he goes messes it up at the end :( I wonder if Sensui is happy or scared about his end with that Itsuki for eternity  Sniper disappears he seems like the type that would become a mercenary but everyone else ended up great :)

Am I the only one who wished they cut to Elder Toguro in the cave? And so what happened to Gourmet and the psychic he ate. Did their souls go to spirit world or what? And what happens if someone stumbles onto Elder Toguro talking to himself?

Elder Toguro was wrapped up in the Sinning Tree's vines so there is no need to go back to him. I'm just gonna guess that Gourmet and Murota's souls were sent to Spirit World. It is never brought up since Gourmet had very few speaking lines and Murota was around for three episodes excluding the flashback showing his demise.

Not one of my favorite episodes of the series, but I hadn't seen it in awhile so it was nice to see again. My favorite part of this episode has to be when Hiei cuts up the Chapter Black tape. "Darnit, my sword must have slipped." :p It's nice to see that at least a few of the Seven had a happy ending despite how things went for them. And once again, big case is over and Yusuke is feeling angsty. Cut to the final saga.

Dang.....it had been so long since I seen the earlier part of the season, but it was nice to see all of those people again..........even if I couldn't remember all of them............

A typical episode that will transition to the next arc, and I wanna see it!!!:anime:
