According to http://hpana.com/news.19117.html and http://videoeta.com/movie/62400, the DVD for Goblet Of Fire is rumored to be released April 4th,2006. Also during the New York premiere, Mike Newell said that there is about 15 minutes from the movie that may be added to the DVD as well as a director's commentary. If it's true that the DVD will be released in April, then I'm not surprised. Both Sorceror's Stone and Chamber Of Secrets DVDs were released on DVD around the same time of the year after each one being released in theatres in November like Goblet Of Fire was.

Well, Sorcerer's Stone was put out on DVD in May 2002 to be exact.
I hope Goblet of Fire has a commentary track or two. If any movies on DVD deserve that, it's the ones from the Harry Potter series.

I've heard rumors of movie studios who plan on releasing movies onto DVD the same date the movies are released in theatres. I'm not surprised about DVD's being released onto DVD faster. It makes sense, it will help put all those DVD piracy hacks out of business. It sometimes amazes me how quickly movies get pirated.

Thats great about the 15 minutes of footage. Hopefully, it is relevant stuff...not fluff.
I still want them to do releases like Lord of the Rings. Make a theatrical release and then release an extended dvd version with 30-45 minutes of extra footage.

Yeah hopefully it's not crap like the extended bird get's wacked by willow scene and a another Kinight Bus gag from the Azkaban DVD. The only worthy deleted scenes in the Azkaban DVD were the Sir Cadogan scenes. I heard that there were better deleted scenes form POA that weren't included on the DVD like another scene from the Bogart scene. I hope the deleted scenes on the GOF DVD includes: Any possible scenes that might have gotten edited out of the Graveyard Scene, any possible scenes that were edited out of the Yule Ball, and if there was another part of the Barty Jr's confession that may have been edited out. If possible I'd like to see scenes of the 3 other champions fighting off their Dragons, but I doubt those were even filmed.

According to davisdvd.com (http://davisdvd.com/news/news.html), the movie will be released on March 7 now. Not only that, but it seems like the first three movies could be double-dipped with commentary and other stuff as well. If that's the case, then I won't mind double-dipping those three, as I've always wished that the first three had commentary tracks. They just better not change the movies in any way that would ruin the mood of things like they did The Outsiders' special edition, which is also from Warner Brothers.

The two-disc version of Goblet of Fire will be chock full of special features, yet it's only the one-disc version that will have commentary.

It just says there's no commentary. Nothing about it being exclusive to disc one.

Well it was said that Goblet of Fire would have a commentary track when it made it to DVD. So taking that into consideration, and the latest information at davisdvd.com, it just simply sounds as though if any of the DVDs will have a commentary track, the two-disc version won't be it.

Warner Bros. recent business acumen is to recycle the first disc of their 2-disc sets as their single disc sets, not to create different ones.

Well hopefully I've got it all wrong. Perharps neither version, whether it be the one-disc or two-disc, will have commentary at all. *shrug*

At DVDActive.com they say the single-disc version of the movie will be featureless:

I think I'm going to wait until all the movies come out before buying these DVDs. I see they've done another box set collection and they're a bit irregular with the packaging. Even though it was flimsy it would have been nice if they stuck with the digipacks to keep the packaging consistent.

Good. I was hoping Warner Bros. wouldn't be that stupid.
