Since someone just posted a thread about favorite Tribe Called Quest Albums. I figured I'd make a thread about one of my other favorite Hip Hop groups (and a group similar to Tribe) De la soul. I'd have to say Stakes is High is my favorite of theirs, followed closely by De La Soul is Dead and then 3 feet high and rising. Everyone seems to think "3 feet high.." is their best but I've always disagreed. Stakes is High is their most consistent release and I love every single note of every single song on that album. Coincidentally that album also has 2 tracks that shout out mine (and their) birthplace (Long Island, NY).

Is this Native Tounges night or something?

Also, I've played De La Soul Is Dead almost every day since I picked it up a month ago. I'm going with that.

Not necessarily a bad thing.:D

I would have to go with Stakes Is High on this one. I love the songs on here and even though it's not on the album, I love the Vinyl Reanimators remix to "The Bizness." The next closest album is probably their debut album.

Not necessarily a bad thing.:DFor real.

And like A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul has never dissapointed me. But I find it a bit tougher to pick here. I still remember the night I picked up 3 Feet High & Rising, man that was great. I think it had the most influence on how I heard things afterwards, so I'll probally vote on that as the tie breaker. De La Soul Is Dead and Stakes Is High are close behind in similar regards. The Grind Date was in top three last year, no matter what. Near flawless, continuing De La Soul's pattern.

like a tribe called quest, de la soul has never really disappointed me... all their albums are slick in my book.
