Remembering Eddie Guerrero
November 18, 2005
Be sure to watch SmackDown Friday night on UPN as the Superstars of WWE remember Eddie Guerrero.

That was a great, great speech by Bow-tista. Perhaps one of the best speeches I have ever heard. He was really hurting there. And it showed what impact his best friend had on him. And another classy gesture by a titleholder, as Batista put his World title on the roof of the lowrider. Very very classy.
I guess "Hurt" was a one-night only song as that 3 Doors Down song "Here without You" (which has been used on wwe.com) has replaced it. I won't even complain about that. It would be pointless to do so.
In all these years, I've never seen Mr. McMahon show that much emotion. It was almost scary to see. He was touched like all of us by Eddie Guerrero.
Very good Chavo-JBL match. Chavo helped us remember Eddie Guerrero by doing a lot of tributes (Cheating, frogsplash.)

I didn't think they'd air the JBL testimonial since they put it on WWE.com.

Brian Kendric?!!

I believe that was another JBL testimonial.
And yes that was Brian Kenderick (Spanky) making a rare Smackdown appearance. Great battle royal. I wish there was more times where the cruiserweights shined like that.
It was great seeing the whole GED deal again. And Eddie with that tie. That was a memorable feud with Essa Rios.

Brian Kendric?!!
Yeah. He's been back for a while now. I guess you don't watch Velocity (The REAL home of cruiserweight action) much.

HHH/Benoit right now.

Man, poor Chris Benoit.
All I can think about is that he's been through so many tribute shows over the years.
First Brian Pillman, then Owen Hart, and now Eddie. What must that feel like?
He may be the best techinical wrestler in the world, but I wouldn't blame him one bit if he decided to take a leave of absence.

Benoit-HHH was a very good match. Damn great ending. I also liked Dean making an appearance.
I wouldn't fault Benoit for taking a leave of absence, though the WWE needs him right now.
Finally, I thought Michael Cole and Tazz did a great job here. They're better at seriousness and conveying emotions than their RAW counterparts.

I believe that was another JBL testimonial. No, it was just longer (at the beginning). Same goes for the Booker T/Sharmell testimonial.

Nice tribute by Batista to drive out in the low rider and leave the belt on the hood, echoing John Cena on Raw
I like the longer JBL testimonial then the one on WWE.com, he refered to the incident in El Paso where he gave Eddie's mother a heart attack and how he had to have a poice escort out of several cities including Odessa:D and Albuquerque
In all these years, I've never seen Mr. McMahon show that much emotion. It was almost scary to see. He was touched like all of us by Eddie Guerrero.
Yeah that really shocked me. He almost broke down, i've never seen that
Very good Chavo-JBL match. Chavo helped us remember Eddie Guerrero by doing a lot of tributes (Cheating, frogsplash.)I saw it coming before the match even started and when he went up to the top I was yelling "Do it!!" and of course the Three Amigos
That was a great way to go out. The show of respect by Triple H and Benoit, Benoit and Malenko in the ring, Benoit's music playing, the shots of the crowd and end with a shot of the belt, the belt that Eddie would have won tonight if he was still alive on the low rider

This morning's abridged replay of RAW had "Here Without You" instead of "Hurt". I guess is that either they could only afford the rights to the song for a day, or they wanted a more upbeat song since they're celebrating the life of Eddie now instead of mourning his death. And Johnny Cash's Hurt is like the most depressing song in the past ten years.
