This is the thing I goshdamn hate about CIN, they are Never speciffic about when the hell somthing is going to happen.

I've been waiting 2 hours for Bohimean Rapsoday (as preformed by Reporting Scotland's newscrew) aleady, damn.

Just finished. The episode essentially acts as further hyping for The Christmas Invasion (Rose is understandably disturbed with the Doctor's transformation so he sets course for her home, specifically Christmas Eve. In transit something goes wrong and the Doctor starts to go insane). I think I'm going to like Tennant's Doctor. He's obviously a geezer. I wonder if the moments of insanity will stick with the character or if it's something that'll only last for the Christmas special.

Hmm, I don't think Russel really put his back into this one. And I'm still not sure about Tannant; seems to be playing the Doctor as an all-out zany.

Right, so we wait two hours for five minutes, Russle had five minutes to do that, no wonder....

Well, there goes any incentive for me to give any of my £74 to CIN this year.

I liked it, I realy did but for god sake, you don't have tones of, what I deem to be very boring, things that go on for ages only to have a little gasp of Who.

And the whole "Zany" thing? Regeneration enduced beserker.

I like.

Very much.

But the Beep loose big time rep for the whole two hours thing, as it was not a watershed issue.
I can imagine POV geting a lot of complaints about that one, surely.

Being a telethon, they kinda have to play the nasty trick of putting the good stuff later on in the hope you'll make a donation in the meanwhile (I'd make a donation, but I'm a poor student). Most of the early stuff is crap (soap stars doing musicals, the duet between Jordan and Peter Andre "QUICK! Sedate the geeks with a show of breasts!" )
I'm personally betting this footage will turn up again in the Christmas Invasion (the events are pretty important to The Doctor and Rose's relationship and setting up whey they're back in London), making this basically an extended preview.

Between HammerBoy and this, My Steamroller is going to have a long and eventful night.

Gallifrey One and the CIN website reported it to be scheduled at 9pm. So I'm cool with it. I'd rather not suffered millionaires Jordan and No Talent sing and demand poor people to send in more cash. Send some yourself instead of using the event to platform your pointless careers.

Anyway. It was a fun 5 minutes. Bear in mind this was written exclusively for CIN and not part of the intended arc. I guess we would/will see the TARDIS land in TCI and the Doctor stumble out crazy - and that would have always been the plan. What's nice is we get a naughty glimpse of the Doctor now prior to his regeneration probs and the wait till Christmas.

Fun stuff, didn't like his coughing regeneration fit though. Looked false.

Just read a post by a member of Allspark who works for the BBC and is a fan of the show. It's his guess that due to the set up it gives they may indeed re-air this. Though that's just his informed opinion. He also left a warning for international fans- apparently the BBC have started making it so non-UK IP addresses can't access certain video files on their websites. The special may possibly be a victim of that.

For an extended teaser this was ok. It's interesting that RTD is going for a Power of the Daleks type situation where the companion doesn't trust the new Doctor as being the same.

Well that sucked. Not the clip, but the file I had to watch. The compression was so bad I couldn't see much, and I could hear less.

But hey, I liked it. True, there wasn't much there, but hearing the music and seeing The Tardis flying through a vortex got me back in the mood for more Doctor. Bring it on.

This has been my first chance to see the new Doctor Who since I abstain from downloading episodes and the bloody BBC is being annoying about a North American DVD release.

I didn't like the shots of the TARDIS whirling through 'time and space', it looked silly, somehow even moreso than when they just overlaid an image of the prop spinning over a starfield.

Otherwise, I was pleased. I think Tennant could be quite a good Doctor. A certain manic aspect, which I suppose is attributable to having regenerated very recently and under adverse circumstances, pervaded this initial presentation of the 10th Doctor, but a more stable and settled in presentation of his demeanor should make for an enjoyable performance. All in all, he seems about right for an even number.

Portraying Rose and confused, shocked, and suspicious of the new Doctor is probably a good choice. It's a believable response and, considering that those unfamliar with the original series might be a bit screw-eyed at the event, one that the audience might well relate to.

I might've preferred him to speak in his natural Scottish accent, but that's a consequence of my being American, listening to any substantial amount of English stuff starts to make me miss r.

I wonder if we'll get any scenes in either the Christmas special or early in the new episodes where the Doctor picks out his new costume, or if it'll be an off-screan and generally unmentioned switch.

And I was realy pissed off at the utter lack of quality of Newsreporter Rahposdy, gezz, how to kill a clasic in 5 minutes much.

The beep realy have to up the Ante (And the good content earler or indeed, more good content) otherwise I can't see next year being a record breaking one (this one just did it and no more)

Maybe I'm just used to it after a season of it, but I love the opening. Sure, it's obviously CGI but the visuals combined with the theme (the opening sound effect hanging over the last few seconds of the teaser really works well) is a great way to kick off an episode.

I'm not sure about David Tennant as the doctor I'm worried he might think "its a kids show so I don't have to try" but it wasn't really a real episode so its hard to judge and I never thought christopher Eccleston would be a good doctor and he turned out to be great

It also reminds the viewer of the glory years when the Diamond Logo reigned supreme.

I've been a head whiner on the logo topic at G1 for a while. I can't stand it. I tolerate it now through exposure, but beyond it's remit to take advantage of widescreen, it's awful. Spacing, shape, legibility go against all typography techniques. The diamond, while cheesy, stuck fast to rules of typography, understanding shape relationships and what makes effective logo material at any distance.

I think it looks really out of place on the intro too. Doctor Who confidential did a better job of incorporating it, but the spinning elipse in a tubular tunnel looks really visually uncomfortable.

I don't mind the TARDIS in space, having coped with it in so many poor vortex's, at least the CG matches the prop, unlike many previous attempts, particularly in Tom Baker's era.
