Well, I just recently found out that Warner Home Video switched over (http://www.timewarner.com/corp/newsroom/pr/0,20812,1121274,00.html) to the Blu-ray (http://www.blu-ray.com/) Disc Association... I was stifled, to say the least. Then, I came to terms with the information.

Well, there were only a few things to think about...

I could finally support just one format
The Blu-ray/HD-DVD debacle probably will end with this
I just posted this news here to see what you guys thought about it.

Blu-Ray is supposed to be the superior format all around, isn't it?

But HD-DVD has Microsofts backing, or at least that's what I read. That's gotta count for something I'm sure.

Yah Blu-Ray holds 50gb while HD holds 30 (dual ray).
HD-DVD is apparantly cheaper to produce and drives could be made which play CD/DVD's as well.

None of the HD-DVD-backing studios have switched allegiances. They're supporting Blu-Ray, but their support isn't exclusive to one or the other. Toshiba and Microsoft are still lobbying hard for HD-DVD, and it seems like there's a very good chance it'll come out in some form.

Still, with the more impressive studio backing Blu-Ray has along with the huge install base the PS3 will bring, things seem weighted very heavily in their favor.
