Yes we've had too many of these restaraunt threads this week but I figured noone else would have the gall to do a thread about fast food fried chicken so I might as well do it.

Your choices are:

1. Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) - The original and most widespread. Colonel Sanders tossed his chicken in eleven secret spices and then fried em in a pressure cooker. Both original recipe and extra crispy lack the heat that Popeyes has (the long lamented Hot and Spicy crispy didn't) but the overall flavor is king thanks to the brining technique KFC champions.

2. Church's - San Antonio's favorite. Not as hot as Popeye's or as flavorful as KFC. A bit crispier though.

3. Popeye's - Heres an analogy for you, KFC : Kentucky :: Popeye's : New Orleans. Not as salty as KFC but deffinetly hotter. The sides also kick butt.

4. Other - Ones not part of the "big 3" like Bojangles and Roy Rogers.

KFC definately. The flavor is unbelievably good.

Popeyes is spicier,I'll agree on that, but the meat isn't as tender and comes out way too crispy.

Popeyes is awesome. Much better than KFC. Plus they have red beans and rice which totally rocks and makes the chicken yummier by association.

I've never had fried chicken.

....Don't stare, it's impolite.

How does Dalek know about Church's aside from the commercial included in the Simpsons Season 6 set? There are none here; I never heard of it until I bought that set.

You guys have a Crown too? :) Cool. But my Mom noticed that Crown Chicken varies from region. She tried a Crown at Coney Island and it didnt taste good. They were probably using really old grease, I hope.:ack:

I havent been there in a good while because I moved out of PA right after I graduated from Perth Amboy High School. In a way I kinda missed it because I've only stayed their for 4 years but you have to move on.

U graduated from Hakensack High yet? :)

Dalek my darling, Chic-Fil-A is a chicken joint. It just happens that most of the faire is served Sammich-style.

KFC Their crispy chicken is good and their biscuts are to die for. Even though it is so fattening and greasy but at least you get a moist towlette for it. :D

Howdy,

I say Popeyes. I like the chicken better, and dirty rice > mashed potatoes any day. Only problem is that we lost our Popeyes when we moved out of Brooklyn and now have to make do with KFC.

There was a restaurant called Cajun on 15th St. and 8th Ave that made a homestyle Southern fried chicken worth killing a man for, but it was definitely not fast food. However, a plate of fried chicken (or just about anything they made), a frosty beverage of your choice, and the Heritage Dixieland Jazz Band on Friday nights was a small slice of heaven in the Chelsea district of New York City.
