Wow.... and this for a UMD. I hope the DVD gets the same cover if not better.

I hate, hate, hate the cover, personally. :) Too busy, too cheesy, and Summer Glau has been Photoshopped so heavily that she's unrecognizable.

I hate, hate, hate the cover, personally. :) Too busy, too cheesy, and Summer Glau has been Photoshopped so heavily that she's unrecognizable. Plus the Reavers have been replaced with generic, t-shirt wearing zombie extras.

None of Serenity's posters were jaw-dropping, but I would have preferred either of the theatrical posters over this.

I agree with you there. Why does everything have to look so "busy" these days? From the t-shirts and hats they sell for sports teams, to the covers of DVDs and video games. Whatever happened to simple, yet effective?

When I see covers that busy, they just give me a headache. :p Which makes me less likely to buy them, especially if I'm not familiar with the content on the disk.

(Another pet peeve of mine -- gross stuff. Anyone seen the Saw II movie poster? Gross! :ack: )

I like the bottom half of the Serenity cover, but above the logo it looks really chessy. Like Adam said, Summer Glau doesn't even look like herself.

I loved the film so I will be buying this DVD regardless of the cover art.

Kidding, yeah, I don't think it's quite "authentic" to Firefly or Serenity, but I think it looks busy and eye catching to those not in the know and hopefully tantalizing enough to get muggles to snag this off the shelves and buy it so that we get as much sales as possible off this sucker.

I want another movie or mini-series at least.

That's it, I'm printing out that first fan cover and inserting it into my DVD case when I get it.
