Jurassic Park Adventure Pack
Well, didn't read anything about this until i was browsing DDD,
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BCE918/102-3947556-2892968?v=glance&n=130&s=dvd&v=glance
It has the 3 movies, i dont know if its the same old releases repackaged or if there is new stuff, i'll have to do some research.
It'll only be about 20$ too!
edit: apparently it is the original releases, i'm still bummed i won't get the fourth disc, but the packaging should be nicer and it did get horrible reviews as "don't even watch it".
this next thing is my quest for the dvd, nothing to do with the release just read if you want :)
I am a HUGE Jurassic Park fan, back when the two pack JP and TLW:JP came out in "special edition" for the release of JPIII, i really wanted them, of course i didn't have a dvd player so i didn't. Then the JPTrilogy box set came out after the JPIII dvd release, i wanted it, but it was 50$, i remember one time is aw it cheap, i dont remember if "cheap" was 30 or 40$ but had no money and next time i came to the store it was 50 again, i decided to wait until i found it on sale again, to my surprise it just dissapeared from the shelves, I could still buy the volumes separate but i wanted the box set, specially since it had a "bonus" dvd, even if every review on amazon hated it and told you to not even watch it, because i am such a big fan of the movies i wanted to watch it anyways. even as of this summer i have still tried to buy this box set on ebay, but they all always went for higher than my max 40$ (used i might add!), i just dont' like used stuff too much and the fact that i could get them all new for 30$ made me not bid any more on them. I wondered (hoping) if a new release would come out, specially with JPIV in the works, and i was so happy (i literally jumped when i saw this a few minutes ago) when i saw this, i hope its more than just a repackaged re-release but even if its not, i'm glad i waited :D

Ooh, maybe it's a good thing I haven't bought any of the JP movies. Wasn't there supposed to be a 4th one in the works? wonder what happened...

Same here. If it's not too spendy I may pick these up since I haven't up to this point. The first is great, and the other two are worthy of a viewing here and there.

I think its still in the works. Both Sam Neil and Jeff Goldblum are returning, last I heard.
It's about time I got around to buying the first two flicks on DVD. I own the third, and I mailed in for the box and bonus disc, but the other two were never a high enough priority to buy. Someday....

I've always been annoyed that they wouldn't give us both Dolby and DTS on the first two films so we could have the best of both worlds.

JPIV is still happening only very slowly, we know the original cast will be in it, it will be based on The Lost World book (which the movie didn't follow) and speilberg is keeping a close eye.

Interesting. I've never heard that story before, that it would be really based on THE LOST WORLD. Though that seems like it would create problems, because the movie did keep the basic idea, so in that case JP4 would just seem like a rehash.
At least the rumored script about mind-controlled dinosaurs armed with machine guns and rocket launches used in warfare, with codenames like Rex-1, and supposedly starring David Boreanaz have thankfully been put to rest.

If this gets good reviews, and some nice bonus features, I will def. pick this set up. You can find it pretty cheap online. I could always pick it up at the next 20% Off DDD Sale, then it would be really cheap.

Where did you hear that JP4 would be based off TLW book? I heard that it would be a brand new story featuring the guy from TLW (I can't remember his charactor or actor name, but he also played in Psycho).
i've gotten my information from movie news sites like ign but mostly reliable JP fan sites, and i may have gotten typing happy though , its not going to be based completely of TLW but speilberg said he was going to use some of his favorite scenes from it that he didn't put into the movie not be an adaptation completely from the film.
oh and btw it includes a ticket for King Kong, a nice little extra ;D

They are reprints of the individual movie discs that were available a few years ago. If you can find reviews of those online, you should have a pretty good idea of what to expect from this set.

His name is Vince Vaughn

Vaughn was mentioned for awhile, but last I heard, the only returning cast (so far) was to be Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum. Keira Knightley's name has also been mentioned. I just hope it's a not for a recasting of Lex from the first two.
wow, i just got my copy, it is verynice, the packaging is one of the most interesting dvd packages i've opened. Only downside is by not including the 'beyond JP' disc the older trilogy set had it makes it not strong ;/
the free king kong pass is definately nice since i'll be able to see it on the big Imax (which would normally cost 10$) for free, so technically it is definately an even better deal than the already 20$ for all three movies.

JURASSIC PARK 4 will not be based on The Lost World, and its story will not even closely resemble it. All Spielberg said was that he was going to look through the two books and cherry-pick any cool sequences they might want to inject into their entirely new story (which I'm pretty sure involves dinos getting off the island).

yea, but also some story elements. I am really hyped about this, i just love this franchise, unlike most people i actually enjoyed JP/// and thought it was better than the second one.

I just got the set as an early christmas present. Oddly enough, mine did not have the Kong ticket. Ah well. What bugs me about the packaging is that the door flaps cant stay closed. I can't believe they thought a dvd set with its flaps hanging open would look nice. Otherwise, decent packaging concept.
the laps hanging open give it a cool effect, but i wish they could remain shut because i have a feeling they might not last as much that way ;/
the kong ticket was only for the first batch, mine had a sticker on the outside about it and was kind of hidden on the back. You could always return it and get one with a sticker but at 20$ it is still a great deal.

I loved JP3 as well. My favorite of the three, though I enjoy the others, too.
Spielberg did the same on THE LOST WORLD and JP3, using sequences from the original JP novel. The scene behind the waterfall in TLW, as well as the Pteradactyl aviary and river attack from JP3, where all in Michael Crichton's JURASSIC PARK book.
