I suggest you go to one of the free web host providers. They are normally pretty advert intensive these days, but if you just want to post a pic of yourself and add a few words they do the job.

You could go for an obvious one like www.angelfire.com - that's nice and easy. The first website I built was there. Again, adverts galore, but you ain't spending money...

Otherwise type 'free web hosts' into a search engine.

In fact, if you just want to post a picture of yourself - go to www.yahoo.com and join up. You will have a basic profile page where you can upload a picture of yourself, add a few comments and post a couple of links....

If you need specifics in HTML, I'm sure myself or others here can help - the question wasn't very specific! :)

Regards.

the problem w/ both angelfire and geocities, is, when you go to post a picture in these forums, it won't work. Why? Dunno, I guess cuz of the content that COULD be on those servers..that's just a guess..

You'd probably have to go w/ a odd-sounding net provider....or..buy your own server..lol

Yeah Angelfire and Geocities do prevent images being hyperlinked to other websites (such as here) I assume to reduce bandwidth use in some way.

Have a hunt round. Most free web hosts will have an easy web paging facility. Try www.worldzone.net I don't recommend it for a permanant website (they lost mine...) but they will allow images to be linked to other sites...
