Here's an article (http://www.lun.com/ElDia/detalle_noticia.asp?cuerpo=701&seccion=801&subseccion=901&idnoticia=C386628992314583) for what I'm going to talk about but it's only in spanish, so here's a translated summary:

During an annual Catholic meeting that took place in the sanctuary of Lo Vazquez, in the small town of Casablanca, Chile, a fire was started. The people who organize this event normally ask for a fire truck to be near so any emergency can be prevented. Little could anyone know that the fire would be started by one of the firemen.

Nobody died or got hurt, and all that was lost was a field of dry grass and weed, thank to the fact that the fire truck was there, otherwise it might have been a lot worse.

When the person that started the fire, Rodolfo Aros del Valle, was asked why he did it, his response simply was: "I was just bored".

He is currently being prosecuted and might anywhere between 5 and 20 years of jail.

Let's give a round of applause for the impulsive and irresponsible people of the world today. :p

I'm not sure of how I should react to this news. Should I weep because my optimism in people is misplaced or should my cynical side savor this display of stupidity as proof humanity should be condemned.

There was a 60s film called "Fireman's Ball" directed by a very young foriegn director named Milos Forman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001232/)..He later did a film called " One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975 (http://www.imdb.com/Sections/Years/1975)) He also directed " Amadeus", a film about Mozart, (l984) and "Hair" Cuckoos Nest was a great film.Jack Nicholson (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000197/). was great in it. Nicholson, you already know later played the Joker, in the first Batman film.. Cuckoos Nest, is one of the few films to win every major Academy Award., best director, best actor, best actress, supporting actor and supporting actress....
........ Fireman's Ball-----------------------------------------------
The firemen have a great party, and somehow, I cannot recall, end up burning down the firehouse, where the Dance was being held...
...Anther one that was about a fireman who sets fires, was more recent, but cannot recall the name..but Ron Howard directed.. I guess truth is in some ways reflects fiction=========.Stuart

The film was called "Flashback"Or, more accurately, BACKDRAFT. No no no, you're thinking of Flash Dance. You know, where that welder-lady sets fire to her dance costume when her routine gets boring.
