Well that's lame. Why not release it to retailers?

If they're releasing the Season Packs, then why not the movie? Damn you Disney.
Well that's lame. Why not release it to retailers? As the article says, it likely will be released sometime next year.

AnimatedBliss.com had this on their TBD list for a long time now and I wonder if they know about this..

Eh, the movie wasn't that great anyway. Had it's moments (particularly the final assault on the money bin) but for epic treasure hunting the opening 5-parter did it better.
Funny tho cus they usually use single-disc movie releases to judge demand for series box sets.

You know the irony of this? The Japanese R2's been released for about 5 months.

I do... heard about it last week. It's nice to see it coming out, but I've heard these Disney Movie Club releases can sometimes have shoddy video transfers. I'll wait for the real thing.

Once the REAL Region 1 retail DVD of the movie comes out, it better be in its OAR, and as extras, I'd like DuckTales: The Movie Special (see http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0240469/combined), maybe the introduction to the movie when it aired on the Disney Channel which had Mr. Eisner and a guy in a Mickey Mouse outfit come across 4 people wearing Scrooge, Huey, Dewey and Louie outfits, deleted scenes (if any exist), maybe a commentary if they can find anyone who worked on the film, and trailers and TV spots.
