Wow talk about a strange oddity, this game is essentialy a religious themed Mario Party for PS2. The graphics are a bit on the simplistic side however it does harken back to the 8-bit era and the religious themed games for the NES. Anyway it's main allure would probably be it's novelty value, and chain stores like Gamestop, Best Buy, Circuit City are all carrying it so it's not just small stores who carry it which is what the 8-bit religious games were pretty much confined to.
I'd really put it along the lines of many oddities of gaming that are usualy Japan only, but this was made in north america.

I remember it. As a person raised in a Christian home I always thought about what would happen if you had David loosing to Goliath, or some other great Bible event not happening. Isn't that sacreligous or something.

There is enough sex, violence, magic, and fantasy based situations in the Bible to make a great game but this is not it. They have torn out the soul of the bible and turned it into this. The greatest piece of smut produced by Western civilization and fundamental Christians have made it child friendly. Gaw! Do you think this book was a page turner just for its religious content? God, no man. Its entertainment value has made this tome a bestseller and a book worth praise.

Worst Bible game ever (and that's not an easy task, as 99% of them suck): Super Noah's Ark 3D.
This one doesn't look nearly as bad, though the graphics are severely lacking. Severely. Those screenshots of the contestants are butt ugly.

Use the left analog stick and the X button to lash the money changers and chase them from the temple grounds! You have 30 seconds to complete this mission!
Man....I'm going to get struck by lightning any second now....

You have to free the Jews, seize land for the Romans, and putting a hit on Jesus is the final mission.

Yes, most of those games are bad, but not all "spiritual" games are doomed rotting in the bargain bin. After all, "Yu-Gi-Oh" seems to be selling pretty well... (And yes, I will fight this point if you want me to.)

The one downfall to this game is once you jack the Popemobile, you're pretty much invincible.
