Probably Ethernal Darkness, since its the only game with a scene that made me and anyone I know jump even the slightest bit.
The bathtub scene. It just came when you didn't expect it too.
But then again in Silent Hill 1 when your in the school with only a flash light had an atmosphere around it, though nothing really came of it.

No DOOM 3!?
I've always felt that to be very creepy.:sweat:Doom 3 doesn't have any lights in the game itself aside from the flash light

A future where there is no duct tape or good lighting on a heavily-funded colony on another planet is creepy indeed.
But seriously, that game was creepy.
Resident Evil was kind of creepy, but RE: 4 was definitely just an awesome game, and it knew it. I did not get scared once, but I did give out a few "Hell yeah!"s.

Ha! You want scary? Try playing Fatal Frame at around Midnight with the lights out and the volume way up! If that game doesn't creep you out, nothing will! ;)

*opens windows* My problem is with Fatal Frame's stories. They are textbook Japanese ghost stories with little or no character development and no interesting plot points, and formulaic school girl fantasies (throw in some lesbian undertones from FFII for "good measure"). The gameplay is repetitive and frustrating, and not to mention tedious (even for a "survival horror" game).
It really chaps my caboos to see this franchise get such acclaim for no good reason (that I can think of ) yet Silent Hill gets shafted because of idiotic picky reasons.

Mickey Mouse's Magical Mirror...
oh dear god... You brave crazy fool!:) I like to play F.E.A.R. in the dark. That game's much creepier than Doom 3 in my opinion.

I'd say Eternal Darkness or any of the Resident Evils. Besides, in the dark, nobody can see you flick off the tv when the memory card pretends to delete itself in Eternal Drakness. Good times.

It's just... I still remember the first time I tried to play it, how every little noise- a creeking staircase, the faint sound of blood dripping, distant voices- scared the beejeezus out of me. The broken neck girl, the trail of blood, the little girl in the well, heads rolling up stairs, the woman with the nails in her eyes... The lighting, I kept moving of to the screen to try to see through the grainy, hazy darkness... Things seemed to be moving just out of my immediate sight. I just love the atmosphere of it.
Aaaand FF was the first "survival horror" game I've ever played (VashGal does not like to think, VashGal likes to shoot, yeah?) so it's ... y'know, special to me. Not the second one, though. God I hated that stupid twin of mine. -_-
