My family just put up the tree so it feels like Christmas for me. Anyway we're going over to my aunt's on Christmas Day, so that should be fun.
I'm spending Christmas Eve with my dad and his girlfriend. We'll be having dinner together with his girlfriend's family, as well as my sister and niece. We'll open our presents after supper.
On Christmas Day, I'll be spending it with my mother, sister, and niece. We'll be having a small Christmas dinner together.
Then on Boxing Day, a friend of mine is coming over so that we can exchange gifts.

I'll be spending it with friends and family - about 20 - 30 of us - so I don't think I'll be online as much. We have this sort of pattern we go every year, a tradition, where we have a huge dinner, then watch a movie, then play some board games, then put up some special ornaments, then call it a night. On Christmas Day we rip open presents and just enjoy the day.

Just came back from a party of family friends.
Weather permitting, because we just got blanketed by ice, I'll be seeing my boyfriend on Christmas, and then maybe getting together with friends on Boxing Day.

I'm opening presents in about 3 to 4 hours- Christmas is a day early for us this year, since both my parents work Christmas day. But on the 25 I'll get to go to my grandparent's house and spend some time with my girfriend, so it's all good...

I'm spending Christmas Eve with my parents and my brother. As usual we'll eat a lot, watch a movie and then finally open the presents...
Tomorrow is a big Family Day. I'm gonna go see my grandparents, my aunts and so on... and some friends as well.

Alright, my first post on the AniGen Board!
My family always goes to church on Christmas Eve before supper, then we eat and open presents while we listen to Christmas music. Good times.
I asked for a Batman shirt so I hope I get it. :D
On X-Mas day we do things with my mom's side of the family (her parents and siblings all live in our hometown). More good times.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Well, today is Christmas Eve so here's what I'm gonna do.
Since my mom's parents literaly live across the street, we'll go there today. We'll have Mexican (as usual). Tamales, beans, Spanish rice, tortillas, and molae (spelt wrong).
We'll make the tamales in the morning, cook theem in the afternoon, and eat at about 4:00 pm. Wash the dishes, and then open gifts at about 7:00pm.
My mom's older brother (who lives out of town) will come and so wil the wife, and three of his four kids (all girls who live out of town as well). As will their boyfriends. Her younger brother will come as wel with his wife and son. They live in town.
I'll tell you I like this day more than Christmas itself.
(Boy that was long.)

Nuthin' special, since Xmas itself will probably be a laundry day. I have to go to a conference on the 27th, so instead of flying home for Xmas just to turn around and fly out to Atlanta we postponed the holidays for a week.
I may bake myself some cookies or something like that, just to put the smell of sweets and spices in the air.

Since my parents work on Christmas Eve and I got the day off, we will spend X-mas Eve at home but tonight we are having a nice quiet family dinner. On Christmas Day, my relatives and first cousins with their wives and girlfriends come over for dinner :) Later that day, I go visit friends and other relatives. When 11pm hits I either go out dancing with friends or my friends and I just stay indoors and play video games and cards...(that is when I lose my money to them... .... but I love them anyway!!! :D )
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Well, in a half hour or so, I'll be leaving the house, and going to my mom's family's Christmas party (we usually do this). An unexpected turn of events this year though. I'll be spending the very first hour of Christmas (12AM-1AM) in church!
Well, when we get back to the house it WILL be technically Christmas, and maybe we can open some gifts... :D

Well, I guess it's considered Christmas Eve. What are we doing? My parents and little sister are going to see the movie about the brainiac kid (Johnny Protron?), and I will be staying home, chatting with the people who actually are staying *home* that day. {shrugs}
Meanwhile, we have this big tree in front of our house that a lot of jackets, inexplainably, get torn on. Right now, it looks like we have our very own Christmas tree with ornaments of all different colors....

What kind of conference, Maxie? I miss being able to go to those...
Me, I'll be "working" Christmas. I say that because someone has to do police reports and obituaries at my newspaper, but for the vast majority of the time I'll be sitting around, twiddling my thumbs since I have to be around in case any news happens. I'll probably bring a book and post here like crazy...

well i've been out xmas eve. had a cool night on the town - got drunk, had a cheese burger and chips and taxied back home. Spent the last hour or so on the board and now going to sleep prior to a lazy gluttonous xmas day which I'll spend with my mother sister and grandmother and I can forget my current loser built existence for one day.... perhaps I may go out for a tipple at the local pub in the evening...
sounds good to me :D
Night all!

I went over to my girlfriends house, helped her family make luminaries(SP?). Then I came home, & we had an "oriental themed dinner"...I guess we were just in the mood for fried rice & the such. (BTW, I have formed the eating habits of most anime characters...took the bowl, & the chopsticks, put them right in my face, & just shoved the food right in. My sister stared in awe...).
Then, we watched Jim Carry's Grinch. Ahh..good movie. And now, I'm doing some last minute mail-checking before I go to sleep, while watching DevilMan(...hmm..nah..not very christmasey...hmmm..I'll watch Resevoir Dogs instead..) :D

I'm at work! The only one in the building! Wheee! I'm posting here, reading Neil Gaiman's American Gods, and listening to the cops argue over what they want from Waffle House over the scanner.

Academic philosophy conference. Every year, right after Xmas, the biz has a big old meeting of the American Philosophical Association where papers are given and interviews for academic positions are held. And it bites.
See, here's the way it works: First, you apply for a bunch of jobs. Then, because you have to make arrangements way in advance of the actual date, you have to buy tickets and make hotel reservations to go even before you hear back from the potential interviewers. To make it really evil, most places don't decide on a set of candidates to interview until a few days before Xmas, and don't bother officially informing the rejects until the following spring (if ever).
So here I am jetting off to a conference where I don't have any interviews (it's pretty certain I'll be getting no phone calls or email between now and the 27th), and the only thing to do is hang out in a hotel bar and listen to all the jerks who DO have interviews boast about it. The only way to deal with it is to get really drunk and stagger off to boring paper presentations read by yammering academics with no talent for writing and who have the stage presence of an aluminum pole.
I've been doing this for six years now and it's always the same. Is it any wonder I've grown to loathe the Xmas season?

Hmm...Perhaps Toonzone is just less appetizing, and less filling than other message boards.... ;)
Then again, I do love Toonzone's sweet scent, & its cleaning power.

Aha, I see where you're coming from now. I was thinking of less-formal conferences held by individual colleges, which (for the most part) I honestly enjoyed. USC had a fascinating look at 20th Century African American literature, and there was an even more fascinating conference on the merging of serious literature and hypertext. They were both loads of fun, but probably because I didn't have anything invested in it. When you combine that with a job search that sounds like ice fishing with no bait in Siberia... ech.
Still, best of luck!
