EDIT: He actually died in the morning of October 21, 2005

Straight from DDRFreak.com:
"We were informed this morning that well-known Bemani and Dancemania artist Captain Jack has passed away due to a stroke and accompanying coma. Captain Jack was originally diagnosed with a stroke in 2002, but refused to change his lifestyle to reduce the impact of his condition and lessen the chance of a future stroke. He collapsed on Monday at a party in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, and was pronounced dead today. Captain Jack is survived by his ex-wife Daniela Schaefer and his son Francisco."

So sad...I mean I know I personally called him the "scary black man with bad teeth but extremely good rhythm"...but DDR will never be the same without Captain Jack. May his soul rest and on the occasional side dance dance in peace.

Weird I was just playing DDR with my friends earlier today. That is sad to hear since he made some of my favorite beats. Well now I'll never get a chance to catch him in concert.

What lifestyle did he lead to only live to the age of 43?

Noooo!!!!! That really sucks, I liked his Lou Bega-like mannerisms. :) 43 is way too early of an age to die. I feel bad for him and all his loved ones, but the truth is that he probably wasn't living a lifestyle he should have if his doctor warned him about the consequences of continuing to live his life the way he was. That's a real shame something like that can happen. Hopefully something like this could encourage others to be careful with their health (including myself.)

I play DDR everyday, and I think I use one of his songs nearly everytime I do play it.

Farewell Captain Jack.
