Prologue
Dick looked at the lifeless image at his feet. "Its foolish to even think about life without you Babs." He whispered kneeling down next to the image of beauty that he had grown to love and cherish more than anything on the planet. Alas the dark damsel lay quiet, covered by unnatural sleep. A flash of lightning flew through up the air, followed by a crack that made the whole city shake. Nothing compared to how much he was shaking though.
A single tear drop from the young Dark Knights doleful face. He held back the scream of pain and delusion that sat haplessly in his throat. All these things were making his head swirl and threatening to make him black out.
Dick thought for a few moments then moved to the man that had started this all. Dead… Bruce would never accept him back now… He began stripping the man. His long baggy coat, oversized, worn jeans, old faded T-shirt, and hat was all he needed. He took them all, then began to slip his suit off.
Once everything was changed he kneeled back down to Barbara, he laid his suit and mask next to her, then carefully he took her hands and kissed each of them, taking in her angelic scent. Dick laid Barbara’s hands down on her stomach and smoothed out her hair as well as possible. Then he reached into the pocket of his old attire for one last thing.
A small black velvet box, he laid it in her hands, and just stared for a few moments. He reached his hand out and pulled the mask off, her crimson hair and perfect features, so tantalizing, so...gone.
The sound of sirens soon filled the empty air-it was time to go. He slipped the mask back on Babs face.
Standing up he took one last look at her features, taking in what he had lost. Then he turned and walked off into the rainy night air.
This wasn’t like when he was Robin, He couldn’t return now. Dick thought of where he could disappear to now. The Invisibles? No. That wasn't in his blood, he would put them in danger. The Capoeiristas? It would be fun, but too...too over populated, too many people would notice him. Tibet was, quiet, but too cold. It had to be a deserted place. A place where he could get food and do what he was born to.
Then he walked away. Away from everyone-and anything he knew-forever.
+++++++++++
Okay i hope ya like it...if ya want PLEASE PLEASE reply?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
