Kagome needs to show Sango some DVDs of Stargate and Brendan Frasier films, since she is so surprised by a mummy being alive.

Wow. I expected Hakushin to be a jackass and it turns out he is one. Yay!

I think Jakotsu is basically the personification of every single IY fangirl ever.

IY's kimono is supposed to be armor? Since when? It doesn't do its job too well...

Jakotsu makes so many homosexually driven comments

That bit about the firerat kimono.. makes me think the firerat fur is still alive.. hence the regeneration.

God why bother having a Wind Tunnel when those damn insects are always there?

Weak.

But hey, Miroku and Sango actually affect the plot! Hooray for them!

But hey, Miroku and Sango actually affect the plot! Hooray for them! That IS a plus though.

Can't tell you how surprised I was when they succeeded..

So we gave dog boy his powers back only to have him get screwed all over again.

IY can't get any breaks can he? human or half-demon he's left off in a bad situation two episodes in a row. Sango and Miroku did pretty well but I was hoping for some monk on monk philosiphy would have gotten rid of the barrier instead of wind tunnel and its sad to know Jakotsu is on his way out :(

It's like the whole thing with Superman and kryptonite. The bugs were an after thought due to not thinking ahead and realizing all of the problems that can come up when putting overpowered characters in a story.

The parts that saved this episode were basically the confrontation with the saint. The "fight" with Jakotsu was there to just drag on the episode, because by the time Inuyasha actually went back to half demon form, nothing much actually changed than when the fight started. Judging by the preview, this whole Band of Seven arc is coming to a close within the next few episodes; hopefully, they'll go out with something good, because this whole sidestory so far has been a disappointment.

I give AMS a C+.

The bugs were an after thought due to not thinking ahead and realizing all of the problems that can come up when putting overpowered characters in a story.Yeah, because if they weren't, Naraku would have dressed the bugs up as rocks by now, so that Miroku would unknowingly suck them in and die.

Still, I wish there was a less annoying cop-out than the bugs. Like, a forcefield or something. (there are a lot of those in this show) It also would have saved everyone the trouble of drawing the darn bugs.

Yeah, I must give them that. Something actually happened.

However, since I complain weekly, here's my "there's just no pleasing Cappy" kvetch of the week. Well, main kvetch:

There was no denouement for the Miroku/Sango side of the episode.

Yeah, because if they weren't, Naraku would have dressed the bugs up as rocks by now, so that Miroku would unknowingly suck them in and die.

Still, I wish there was a less annoying cop-out than the bugs. Like, a forcefield or something. (there are a lot of those in this show) It also would have saved everyone the trouble of drawing the darn bugs.

I think what bothers me most about the bugs is that they have to audibly acknowledge them every time they show up. One, usually two characters end up saying something like: "Naraku's poisonous insects!" "You can't use your wind tunnel Miroku, or you'll be poisoned!"

Few more episodes and we out.

Yeah, but why can't Sango just kill the mummy now that Miroku destroyed the barrier?

Wow...i thought I would love this arc. But no I hate it, it really sucks and they could have just gotten rid of the barrier in one episode. The only plus was Seshomaru, Rin, Jaken and Kohaku being in it. I am really sick of Inuyasha at the current moment.

-6/10 for this episode.

One thing that bugged me about this episode is that Inuyasha got his demon powers back after the barrier dropped. On the new moon, you can assume his demon powers just go dormant, but in this case, they were purified away. That doesn't seem like something that'll just come back once the source of the purification is gone. That's like putting water through a filter, then having the impurities in the pitcher magically come back when you throw the filter away.

I don't mind the band of seven as villians, but they introduced them to slowly and have killed them off too quickly. It would have been much more interesting to actually see them team up with Naraku instead of just being his puppets.

As for the living buddah, I felt sorry for him because he does show the bit of fear many people do have about life after death, but the barrier being with him is too much, and now he just runs away. I really hope Kikyo teaches him a thing or two next week.
