that makes it on par with their first promo for it. infact I totally had forgotten all about EVA coming yet the delayed Morel Orels remained in my mind. good job AS :(

Yeah I know. They should have picked something more like a fighting scene or something more interesting. Hopefully as the weeks draw closer, they'll have some really interesting promos.

Futurama (11pm) - 588,000
Futurama (2 am) - 502,000
Inuyasha - 471,000
Actually, those ratings aren't really bad, just really odd. 471,000 for Inu Yasha is still pretty good. The 2am Futurama getting over 500,000 just makes everything look out of whack. Overall, the numbers are good for Saturday and that's what's important.

I hope all anime can still pull around 400,000.... I think the fact that Futurama got the top 2 spots last Saturday is just a sign of "maybe it should just stay..."

What in the toasted blue hell?
So it's the last week the Futurama rerun slot is on Saturdays and people decided it was so incredibly important to watch it not once, but twice, instead of the anime premieres. Never mind that Fullmetal made it's (apparently not so) awaited comeback....

I think we need to start up the "Top 3 is Irrelevant" thing again. Just because people watched Futurama twice does not mean they didn't watch anime premieres. If anything, it probably means that more people that usual were watching throughout the night. The ratings could have easily been
Futurama - 588,000
Futurama - 502,000
Inu Yasha - 471,000
FMA - 462,000
If the second Futurama hadn't made the list and the ratings were:
Futurama - 588,000
Inu Yasha - 471,000
FMA - 462,000
Then no one would be complaining. Basically, the order of the Top 3 is unimportant. All that matters is the actual numbers. Just because FMA did not make the list does not mean it did badly.
I think everyone forgot what the hell happened in the first 26 episodes of FMA and decided to watch Futurama instead.

I think everyone forgot what the hell happened in the first 26 episodes of FMA and decided to watch Futurama instead. It's also possible that:
1. Some people forgot that FMA was returning to AS last week and accidentally skipped it;
2. Some people have already seen the dub for the episode thanks to it being on the FMA 2 PS2 video game, and thus decided to pass on it (with the same results possibly happening again with the one that aired last night and the upcoming episode, which was shown during the Fullmetal Fantasy panel at Otakon).

FMA got hosed by a Futurama encore. Well it still could have done really well and that Futurama encore just did... dang... that's got to be a record for an encore on Saturday.
Why do people still watch Futurama this much. It baffles me. If I don't take breaks I get really sick of watching it now. I mean really sick of it... and yet it still continues to do this well.

Or...
3.Everyone downloaded the remaining episodes because they didn't feel like waiting for Adult Swim to air them. Seriously, people on the official boards talk about downloading fansubs all the time, the mods over there really should be more strict about that.

AS sunday is getting 10pm? When did they decide this? And they're blowing it on American Dad and ANOTHER Family Guy? Honestly, how many hours-in-a-row of Seth MacFarlane shows does America need?

It's not the last week. 2 days ago was. We'll still have one more card with Futurama on it.
And to AS Saturdays, good luck bro.

Good god, I just realized with the Fox airings on Sunday, we get to watch THREE, I repeat THREE hours of Family Guy/American Dad in a row. The bad news is two of the hours are the same, which is very stupid. They could at least play the previous week's hour in one of the hours, but even better, they could be more original and let more programming air, but no... they just don't want to be logical there.
I'm very concerned with AS Saturday starting this weekend...

The Kikaider movie appears to still be available on Adult Swim OnDemand. So there's that, at least. I'd watch it if my service wasn't completely hosed and I get a "Please try again later" error message 90% of the time when I try to watch something.

HOLY ZOMBIE!
After airing that last Stroker & Hoop exclaiming Jesus is still too much for the censors?
herbkir
09-29-2005, 01:17 PM
It's probably more like it's not worth the effort to go back and un-censor an episode to conform to current editing standards. For instance, I doubt they'd ever go back and un-censor the scratched-out cuss words in Samurai Champloo, even if future broadcast standards allowed them. Once an episode is censored, it'll probably stay that way. (^_*)

09-29-2005, 03:47 PM
That's also due to every episode only having really one tape, and if the "master tape" of that episode is altered there is no way to go back and fix it without getting a new tape, and yeah I really doubt they would go back and fix that error.
