Even though it started on UPN, Only 5 episodes were aired.

Adult Swim not only brought the show back, but 3/4 of the show were made for Adult Swim, Does that make them more responsible?

Also, What sort of rights does Adult Swim have to the show? Could they put it on Friday Night Fix? And why did Shout put out the DVD's instead of WHV? Did Shout buy rights?

And I know the ratings for season 4 were very low, but how were the ratings for the first 3 seasons?

Thank you in advance for your answers and opinions :brendon: :coach:

Yes, it's an original....at least seasons 2-4 are. Home Movies is a 3rd party owned show, meaning Adult Swim and Time Warner don't own the copyright on it. Home Movies is owned entirely by Soup2Nuts, and are paid to produce it by and for Adult Swim. WHV doesn't distribute it because, again, it's not a Time Warner property. Other Adult Swim shows are because AS and Cartoon Network own the rights to those shows. Soup2Nuts sold the distribution rights to Shout! Factory, who's doing a fine job IMO. This is the same situation with The Boondocks. It's an Adult Swim original, but it's owned and managed by Sony Pictures Television.

It's as much an original as Big O season 2 was.

Thank you. That explains everything I wanted to know except...

Do they have the rights to show it on Friday Night Fix?

It appears for the time being AS wants to use Friday Night Fix to promote new originals. Though, if they wanted to air Home Movies they could.

Soup2Nuts sold the distribution rights to Shout! Factory, who's doing a fine job IMO. Shout! Factory is currently my favorite DVD company. They're bringing out a lot of shows that I NEVER thought would see the light of day. And the extras on the Home Movies DVDs are always enjoyable to watch.

I'd say that's a pretty accurate comparison
