Damn, and the scheduel will only start looking better. Which is good, since I'm liking this. On another note, what's up with that AS apparel commercial?
Is anyone else experiencing jittery moments during Champloo?

come on ratings! um...ratings come on!
Sunday, September 11th
F-Guy - 749,000
Chicken - 681,000
Birdman - 589,000
looks like the ratings were finally motivated :)
How appropriate that they're showing this episode of the Venture Brothers on Talk Like a Pirate Day

Sunday wins, Saturday wins, everyone wins! Good week for ratings.
Escaflowne handed Bebop's butt to it on a silver platter, even though it was arguably the weakest of the three movies that aired this month.
Maybe people were drawn to something not tied to an Adult Swim show.

Futurama - 682,000

Escaflowne - 428,000 I wonder the good ratings were the result of AS starting after the encore of the hour-long premiere of the Naruto dub.

I can't believe the Escaflowne movie got higher ratings than the Bebop movie. Unbelievable.
But then again....cat girl.

More proof that things with catgirls >>>>>>>>> things without catgirls.
The best AS movie so far, and probably for a long time, will be Metropolis, easily.
Apparently, even if the main catgirl is turned as ugly as possible.

There was a Magic: The Gathering commercial for their Ravnica set featuring a single card...a "400 Year Old Virgin" as it were.
First I've EVER seen of Magic being advertised on TV, much less in such a high-demand ad space.

on a side note, I failed to avoid another paranoia agent...
If I wanted to watch people freak out, I's spend more time at work watching the defendants.
Paranoia agent joins Akira and Jin Roh on the VERY SHORT list of anime I truly hate. There's alot of anime that I'm not a fan of, but there are just some shows/movies that make me want to shoot the TV... Paranoia Agent is one of them. I mean, I went into it with a completely open mind, and I hated it.
So I let a few months pass, and I'm like, hey, maybe the last episode was a fluke, lets watch another and see if it's any better.
it isn't.
I'll like AS more when GITSSAC and FMA have the new eps.

Watching Paranoia Agent again a bit, to see if the ending makes the rest of it better. Not sure if it will, but at least now when I get bored by the episodes I can focus on looking for elements of the conclusion.
(End of the opening montage: "It's not my fault!")
(Son of the old man over the phone to the reporter: "I'm tired of your excuses!")
(Maromi in Lil' Slugger's shadow at the end of the episode)
(Lil' Slugger says "Hello again")
First episode was decent this time... but I didn't particularly hate it the first time. Expectations still low for the rest of the series. :¬)

They're running those advertisements for the two weeks preceding the Ravnica: City of Guilds prerelease tournaments. They started running them last week.

Has Adult Swim's relying on reruns for two years finally stopped working?
Tune in next week to find out!

I'm really glad they're replaying Paranoia Agent, and am really looking forward to watching the whole series again. It'll be interesting to look for details I may have missed before, and watching the show nightly should make it easier to take the series in as a whole than the weekly premiers did.

New thoughts and observations, PA episode 2.
Nice to have the first episodes captioned as well.
(Yuichi can't believe that everyone else might suspect that he's Lil' Slugger, so he makes the excuse that it must be some plot against him)
(That and he lives in a world of his own hype. I almost feel sorry for him, but he's just such an ass...)
(Odd how the tutoring session seemed similar to a session with Ms Chono's... alter-ego)
(Deep down, Tsukiko knows she's responsible for Lil' Slugger, and seeing the victims pile up only increases her need for him)
(That conversation between Tsukiko and Maromi was rather juicy)
Nice also to have some direction in these episodes. Marginally better than last time.

Of all the Saturday anime to repeat on Thursday...Scryed?

Dang it! Why are they repeating S-cry-ed on Thursday, but not FMA? While I saw that it wasn't on the schedule as new, I assumed/hoped it was wrong (as sometimes happens) since they always repeated the premieres previously. I (and other folks I know) missed the Saturday airing and assumed I'd be able to catch it Thursday. Now I'm pretty much just going to be behind an episode. Considering most of the rest of Thursday is still premiere-repeat night, they should really do more to put people on notice if they are going to go back to only giving you one chance to catch the episode.
Actually, they took off most of the anime premieres when Samurai Champloo went into reruns.

Since I was without power for a few hours last night, I was completely unaware of how last night's FMA wasn't the "Teacher" episode.
However, my real beef with last night involved the fact that my local cable provider decided to show some COB commercials JUST WHEN ROBOT CHICKEN WAS STARTING.

However, at that point there were no anime premiere episodes to repeat.
