Inspired by a thread on this other forums.I think the The Wilkersons from Malcom in the Middle are pretty reminiscent of mine. We are many, wild, crowded and can't help but end up interwoven with each other. And the fact that friends of any of us end up living half their day at least, trotting about our place only adds to the fullness of the surroundings...

I love my family. So much!:anime: :anime:

When I was a kid...uh...I dunno, Reba? Geez, do they even make shows about single moms and their kids?

But right now I half expect me and my dad to act out the ending of "Epilogue" one of these days.

My mother has been remarked to being horrendously like Eddie from Absolutely Fabulous in manner, remarks and looks. My grandmother is very much like Gran in the same show. Add to that - my sister will kill me for this comment - she is a little like Saphy...

Naturally, I have no place in such a line up as I'm unique.

Only TV? Can't do it. My family is WAAAAAY too different. Lessee, my mom is a nastier, less subtle version of Marie Barone. My Dad is EXACTLY like Calvin's Dad from Calvin and Hobbes (one of the reasons he's in my sig). My sister? I haven't seen any TV show with a character remotely like her. She is very spiritual but not flaky which is a stereotype no TV show, comic, movie, or cartoon has ever done. My brother-in-law is a lot like a snarkier version of Ken Jennings (dude knows EVERYTHING but isn't an ego-maniac about it). My baby neice is like a Munchkin.

It doesn't have to be TV family...:)

I would have to say that my family is most like reba's........crazy football playing son, smart blond daughter, and cool-ish mom! I love Barbra Jean on there though!

Mine is a mix between Good Times (with half the melodrama) and Married...With Children (without the excess sleaze).

My Family is Dexter's Family if you role reverse me and my sister.

My sister is always studying like Dexter, I'm always goofing around and watching toons like DeeDee. and My Parents are just the same as theirs, only smarter.

my brother, his wife, and i laugh our heads off whenever we watch "everybody loves raymond". not only because it's a funny show but because whenever there's a scene with raymond's mom and dad we're like "that is so mom and dad"

Gosh, can't really get one very dead-on and/or including everyone (four sisters, one brother). Closest would have to be Malcolm in the Middle's fam. We're all very dysfunctional. Mom yells a lot. My dad would be Malcolm though, because he's insanely smart, unlike Hal. I'd probably be Hal or Reese.

Or Step by Step would also be close. Big, odd family that fights a lot, but can't live without each other. And sickingly lovey-dovey parents.

So yeah, put those two in a blender and you've got my screwed up family.

I have some cousins and maybe Aunts and Uncles that could easily fit in the King Of The Hill universe. Nevermind that nobody lives in Texas.

As for my own inner family, I really don't know. I can see some resemblance in Daria, only my dad isn't crazy and my mom isn't a workaholic. They do drive me nuts most of the time, though, and I have to deal with their weirdness and ways of thinking. Which brings out my sarcastic and hermit side ;)

It's really not that easy for me to compare my family to any TV family. I'm really the only person who falls into any archetype. I'm the middle child. Like Lisa Simpson I'm a dedicated liberal and the "smart" one (not to say that the rest of my family is stupid, because they're all really smart).

Like Malcom from Malcom in the Middle I'm constantly fighting with my "stronger" older brother and my little sister who takes full advantage of the fact that she's the "baby" of the family (although they're nothing at all like Reese and Dewey).

Those are really the only similarities I can think of between my family and TV families.

A mix of Married with Children and Family Ties. Nevermind that my dad is an intelligent college professor, my mother a dentist, my sister younger than me, and me an Honors political centrist. But that seems like the situations that we get into.

Insert any 50's-era sitcom here. My mom is always cheery and loves cute things, so the house is always frilly and perfumey.

No, wait.....my stepdad is constantly angry and yells at everyone viciously, usually over minute details like forgetting to spray the counter after you've put a glass on it. He's impossible to reason with.

IS there a sitcom this bipolar??

I believe that I can safely say that there is no TV family
that comes close to resembling my family. Why? I'll tell you why.
Because they don't make sitcoms about families with only one child,
that's why! Even if the children are not related, there's always more thean one child.
And they don't make sitcoms about home-schoolers either. And how come
only children in fiction are usually portrayed as spoiled brats? Why, why?!
What have we done to deserve such a fate!? Is there no one who will
stand up and provide a positive role model for the only children of the world!?
Anyone? Anyone at all?

Heh...probably Sanford and Son. My mom passed away when I was 6, my dad never remarried...so It was just me and him as my siblings had moved away (i was the youngest).
