I got this Trojan/Virus thing on my computer at about 4:00 PM EST, and I haven't been able to remove it. Norton Anti-virus comes up everytime I turn on/restart the computer. It tells me that it found and deleated "Backdoor.Graybird". I keep deleting the thing from the quarintine folder, yet it keeps coming back.

Please tell me if any more info is needed. Thanks. Also, excuse any bad spelling/grammer. I'm in a hurry to post this.

Does NAV quarantene it delete it or repair the virus?
There is another free anti-virus, to double check if the virus is gone. Its F-prot.
http://www.f-prot.com/download/home_user/
Its DOS version but it works and its very strong. Look at the very botom of the page. Don't get windows vbersion because its not free. Dos is the same as windows but its free. At the very botom of the page there are updated defenitions. Just unzip them into the same directory as the F-Prot. Hope it helps.

NAV tells me that the virus is deleted, and makes a backup file in quarantene. When I delete it and restart the system, it just comes back. I've tried deleting the backup file and turning the computer off for 30 seconds, and turning it back on.

Would going into safe mode and scaning with NAV help? (btw, I'm useing Windows XP sevice pack 2)

Thanks, I might try that later. :)

The virus is a smart. It probably makes a copy of itself somewhere. Maybe multiple viruses. Try making a full system scan with the NAV and F-Prot.
