I guess this means Lupin and Case Closed are gone forever. Oh well. I'll have to set my Tivo to get a few Cartoon Planet episodes for old times sake.

Great to see Cartoon Planet and FLCL again, but keep Lupin and Case Closed on the block somehow.

...the crap is Cartoon Planet?
Kinda like a daytime version of Space Ghost Coast to Coast, minus the celebrity interviews. It was pretty much a show with a bunch of randomness featuring Space Ghost, Zorak, and Brak. The show also had a bunch of songs, some of which got released on a CD.

Will there be a talkback for CP on anything they edited due to copyright issues?

Will there be a talkback for CP on anything they edited due to copyright issues?

I suppose if someone happens to have copies of the episodes that aired intact they could do an edit list type thread. Otherwise it would be kind of difficult unless we have posters with tremendous memories.

I would kill for a collection of those old episodes, incidentally. KILL.

There may not be any edits. The copyright issues may have just prevented them from releasing the material on DVD. Although someone else may know more about what exactly was at issue here.

Nice to see Milk-chan again, since I never got around to seeing all of it. Looks like I'm waking up an hour early now..

I've never seen Cartoon Planet before but I have heard good things, so this will be a treat. Lucky for me school has me getting up at 6 AM to begin with, so a half-hour earlier shouldn't be too hard to pull off.

Getting up an hour earlier would be too much effort for Milk-chan, however. :p

Do we honestly need FLCL again? This soon?

I actually thought the Cartoon Planet thing would never go through.

I guess I have to get up at 5:30 now =(

Overjoyed at the return of Cartoon Planet! It'll be the first time I've watched the 5 am stuff since Popeye and Clampett. Also, If these cartoon Planet eps. are for the first time on AS (which I think they are) We'll need a Talkback!

"Cartooon Planet Starring MEEEEEE!"
"And me!"
"And me!"

That is some real cool news but that timeslot is a bit of a stinker. I'll try to tape as much as possible.... maybe buy a whole set of tapes! How many episodes of this are there? If I can, I'll tape 'em all! This is the show that got me started on Space Ghost Coast to Coast when I first got Cartoon Network nearly 10 years ago! I'm ecstatic!

As for my other opinions:
*Glad Boondocks is still coming this year, I got high hopes for this one.
* That's good they get to play American Dad/Family Guy on Sundays I suppose, but two airings back-to-back? Couldn't we have pushed up Robot Chicken/Birdman to 11 PM and let other shows air until Boondocks premieres, i.e.:
10 - Family Guy
10:30 - American Dad
11 - Robot Chicken
11:15 - Birdman
11:30 - Stroker and Hoop
12 - Venture Bros.
12:30 - ATHF
12:45 - Sealab
1:00 - Tom/SGC2C/Brak
1:30 - More WS or Oblongs or Mission Hill or Home Movies :)

You know if they wanted to encore a "the Sethccessful hour" right after the first one, I'd be fine, but don't repeat it 2 more times later. Save that for encores of other premieres or hey... how about other shows that don't regularly air? I'm being too hopeful I suppose....

Other than that... cool I suppose.

Stroker and Hoop won't air before midnight because AS won't air any shows rated TV-MA before midnight. The FG repeat at 11 still does feel dumb.

They could at least perhaps throw some ATHF into that half hour until Boondocks is ready, it seems to work on weeknights.

Starting Saturday, September 24, Super Milk-Chan makes its triumphant return to Adult Swim, airing at 5 a.m. Saturdays and weekdays ...Why?

And what do you mean by "triumphant"? :p

followed by Cartoon Planet at 5:30 a.m. Finally! The final hour is useful again! (Somewhat...)

On Sunday, October 2, American Dad will air at 10 p.m., followed by new episodes of Family Guy at 10:30 p.m. and repeats at 11 p.m. Can't they just delay the extra hour for The Boondocks' premiere instead, or at least fill 11PM with something else? I see no use of creating an extra hour just for what we just watched an hour ago. That stuff is for 2-5AM.

No offense to Stroker and Hoop fans, but what makes that show even deserve a TV-MA rating?

I know a show that they COULD do at 11 PM.... Futurama. Yeah it's already played to hell as it is, but at least it's a LITTLE something different than just Family Guy/American Dad with that same hour on 4 times that night!!!
10 - FG, 10:30 - AD, 11 - Futur., 11:30 - Robot Chicken/Birdman, 12 - Stroker, the rest you can go from there. It'd be perfect, but WS probably won't listen.... Also can we PLEASE give Venture Bros. a 2-month vacation at least? I mean there's so much you can do with only 13 (maybe less) episodes for that long. Play them again when the new season comes closer or at least when 2006 starts....

Space Ghost, Brak and co. are 100% Adult Swim property now.

Airing it anyplace else, age-appropriateness aside, would just seem weird.

Whenever a show at 5 am scores bigger ratings than shows in the 11-2 am block, it gets replaced.

I see how it works now, Williams Street. **** you.

Lupin actually didn't air then though. It was the last 30 mins of the CB movie and maybe they thought it was Lupin so they counted it seperate. Well whatever...

I would like to thank Cartoon Network for picking up Boondocks, re-airing FLCL and showing new episodes (I guess?) of Super Milk-Chan.

Because those shows, along with Stroker and Hoop, will give me the time I need to watch G4TV instead.

Switching from Super Milk-Chan to G4 is like switching from being kicked in the balls to being flat-out sodomized.

Although G4 only has infomercials on that early in the morning anyway, and Boondocks hasn't even aired yet, so I dunno where you're going with this.
