CN did something right for a change. Now all they need to do is bring Megas back and all will be well.

What a relief! When I first saw this I immediately change the channel, really the characters where annoying, i remember there was a show called Space Goofs(i think) they where 10 times better than this show even if they wherent in CN.

It disappeared for quite a while a few months ago man. I think it's only fair that the US gets a break too ;) Hopefully in a few months it will be gone. At this rate, they're going to run out of space for all these Toonami shows they're pulling over.

That show was already dead when they showed the online preview for it before it even aired. It wasn't funny and it really gave the show a bad image.

Oh and to all you fans, don't complainWell, that's just never something proper to say to a fan of any show, and I mean any show. Even though I may not be a fan, per se, it's just never proper.

Can't say that Cartoon Network made a good choice when they bought this show, nor did they when they purchased DICE, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Atomic Betty, Astro Boy, and a few other shows since 2004. That being said, I'd like to ask: What the hell are they thinking? Who's ordering this stuff? Although I never felt indifferent to these shows, I think they need to look at what shows are working before they choose new shows. What works with their targets? What doesn't? And, then, maybe they'd figure out that it'd be best to stick with the distributors whose shows get them the best ratings currently. Creator-driven originals are working better currently than executive-driven shows. Exports aren't working as well, and shows from Kids' WB! do and don't work (show to show basis).

So, maybe they should stop trying new failures and, instead, order more/new shows from outlets like Marathon, Warner Bros. Animation, and others that work with them. It's just silly to continue to romp around with companies whose shows fail, and who probably have never had a wide broadcast hit (rather, companies which hope that the show they sell to Cartoon Network will be their first hit), while other channels in media scoop up broadcast deals with the good studios (that the channel likely had a chance to order from earlier).

I don't think Cartoon Network is blindly picking shows. They're taking risks in order to keep things fresh. Note that almost all of the shows they acquire are action or action/comedy. This is mainly because the network has never produced their own stuff, outside of a scant Toonami thing.

Looking at Pet Alien on paper, it had potiental. With a distro deal from Fox and a toy deal in the works. The problem with this show, as any others that are launched as a "franchise" rather than a "show," is that the creative development is hampered. Perhaps the fact that this show was worked on by some of the same people that created the 3-D Voltron series was a foreshadowing of the consistent emphasis on visuals over story. Sure it looked great, but fancy digital puppets don't cut it.

Ordering shows that you just hear about and watch a pilot of isn't a risk. It's not scintillating at all. I think Cartoon Network should actually try watching the shows and comparing them to what's on the air and what isn't to make sure that they can have another show that will break grounds and attract audiences. That means, instead of getting Jackie Chan just because Kids' WB! has it, they could go shopping for shows that have promise and haven't hit the air yet. Ordering shows from 4Kids isn't a gamble. Ordering shows that have already aired on television is not something I'd call taking a chance. You know how the show's going to perform. I'd call it not nonsensical (except in the case of Totally Spies!).

Just because a show has deals doesn't make it any good. Hell, there are numbers of good shows with wide audiences that don't get (good, if any) distribution deals for years. And, those are the good shows (as you mention, sort of).

Those are CN's most-watched and liked shows.

I highly doubt they'll take 'em off anytime soon.

As for Pet Alien, I'm rather disappointed.

Pet alien is a bad show it's difficult to get hooked by the characters or even the stories. BTW I don't think that AmiYumi have bad ratings .. tehy're going to continue with the show and even anounced a videogame with the characters.
"We continue to be impressed with the outstanding ratings performance of the Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi show," said Careen Yapp, vice president of licensing and business development for D3PA. "Cartoon Network's commitment to the franchise, both on-air and with consumer products, solidified our decision to move forward with an all new DS version of Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi for early 2006."

Is it just me or is the new stuff just pandering to kids. It seems that most of CN's new kids show have the attractivness of a wet moldy stump. I hope they start to do better because so far they have been hitting some pretty low points.

I hated Pet Alien and I'm glad it's gone! Now if they just got rid of Da Boom Crew...

And Hihi Puffy Ami Yumi is a surprisingly popular show. I don't like it because it's anime failing NOT to be anime! The best shows on it at the moment (In my opinion) are:
Teen Titans
Xiaolin Showdown

Juniper Lee is ok I suppose... I just can't really get into it enough to say that it's great!

I'm not saying they're bad, just that it seems like they don't have good taste when it comes to cartoons.

SIGH. Just because we have two cartoons that were more popular here than over there and you say were "werid" and have "bad taste in cartoons".

And yeah, but ugly martians was quite popular over here. For about a year it was really popular with loads of toys and tv airings and stuff but then it just dissaperad suddenly o__O

And it was only really popular with the 2-7 audince

I doubt it... And British people are NOT wierd! I'm British and I can't stand that stupid show!
Butt Ugly Martians was a pathetic excuse of a TV show too!

We also have a perfectly good taste of programs! You would be AMAZED at how many American things we have on TV in the UK!

The following shows are proof of perfect english taste:
Only Fools and Horses
Black Adder
Monty Python (All of the films)
Red Dwarf
Little Britain
Last of the Summer Wine
e.t.c

Baisically, my list could go on forever! So don't you even think we have bad taste when you just plain don't understand our sence of humour!
