Wow, I don't think anyone would have ever expected Bebop to be one of the lowest rated movies, and if I remember correctly, somehow Metropolis is still the highest rated?

Lupin - the little show that just keeps on kickin'! I wonder how much Geneon wants for 26 more episodes at this point? (Or I'd bet Funi has some movies available). Also, I guess this means that Lupin topped the 2AM Futurama episode.

There's only one problem with that Lupin rating

Lupin didn't air that night! It didn't air anytime during the 24 hour ratings period for Saturday even!!!

Remember, the Cowboy Bebop movie ran over by a half hour, so the second airing of Futurama and Lupin III didn't air. However, that run-over wasn't announced beforehand and both shows did show up in the online TV listings as airing.

So either AS misread their ratings or Neilsen messed them up or something else is going on here. However, no matter how you look at it the ratings card is wrong. Now it'll be interesting if Adult Swim explains what happened or just ignores the obvious booboo here

So if Lupin wasn't airing that night because of the CB movie runover, then was it the CB movie showing during what normally was Lupin's slot. If so, then that is the rating for the CB movie. Which still is a very poor ratings performance.

With movies in general, AS keeps starting them at midnight. That is a mistake. Casual viewers may be willing to stay with a movie 11-1 but not 12-2. Except maybe the Animatrix and Escaflowne, the movies seen on AS in recent months didn't have content that shouldn't be shown before midnight. (^_*)

Straight from adultswim.com:

The Boondocks will now premiere Sunday, November 6, at 11 p.m. with encore Saturday showings beginning November 12 at midnight.

Starting Saturday, September 24, Super Milk-Chan makes its triumphant return to Adult Swim, airing at 5 a.m. Saturdays and weekdays, followed by Cartoon Planet at 5:30 a.m.

FLCL will begin another Saturday run starting October 1 at midnight.

On Sunday, October 2, American Dad will air at 10 p.m., followed by new episodes of Family Guy at 10:30 p.m. and repeats at 11 p.m.

So, I guess FLCL will take over the midnight slot until The Boondocks arrives. And say goodbye to Case Closed and Lupin The Third possibly for good. It sucks that they're bring back Milk-Chan, but atleast we're getting Cartoon Planet.

My bet is that FLCL (like Bebop) has been such a consistant performer that even if it was originally a two year contract, CN might have shilled out to keep it for longer because it works and they don't the risk of being counter-programmed by it. Basically, I'd assume it's now theirs until further notice.

Guess they got the Fox issues with Family Guy on Sundays ironed out. Again.

You'd have to wonder how much money they're giving Fox at this point to keep the show on Sundays.

Also, the Family Guy repeats seem to only be a temporary placeholder until they can air Boondocks in November. So it'll be gone in a month.

In case this was directed at me, let me simply say I'm not a fan of Lupin. Of course, I don't think Bebop is the "God of Anime" like some people on this board do. It was an average show and the movie was nothing more than a extended episode, and yet I'm sure there were those who thought it would break 500k and be the highest rated movie AS has ever or will ever show. I've never seen the fascination with the show some people have, and obviously the general publc doesn't either, at least as far as the movie goes. That's what I found funny, the fact that the movie fell on its face despite the obsessive devotion its fans have.

Also, if bashing a show is immature then most of the people here are guilty of it. Your post sounds like sour grapes from a Bebop fan who had your favorite movie do poorly in the ratings, don't take it out on others. Not everybody is going to share your opinions.

That's why people thought the Bebop movie would be a big hit.

Perhaps the movie would've done better if Starz/Encore/whatever didn't get it first.

If anything, (and the ratings actually represent a phantom Lupin episode that wasn't actually shown that night), it's because the movie wasn't that great.

I love the series. I've seen many episodes numerous times, and it really doesn't get old with each viewing. The movie on the other hand felt like a 2 hour long episode. It was just another villian of the week that ended up being stretched out to 4 times it's length. The result is the movie felt like it was padded with alot of filler.

Not to say that it's bad, because it's not. I think the main problem is that most fans were expecting a movie to tie much closer into the main storyline. Yes it does explain Spike's state of mind in the last couple of episodes, but.......................eh. I would have prefered a prequel to the series.

Ok, i've got to say that this week of FMA reruns has my favorite, and least favorite, episodes in it. The one from yesterday (aka: the episode 95% on a train) is my favorite, although todays is pretty good, too. Tomorrow's episode is, well... I won't say anything for those who haven't seen it, but I was deeply saddened by it.
But enough about that, let me get to tonight's episode. Those 2 have done a lot, haven't they?
