View Full Version : They pushed back The Boondocks?

Well that's a drag.
I wonder what will happen with their Saturday night plans since Boondocks wont be airing in October.
And there also seems to be little point to airing an extra hour on Sunday since the FOX shows can't be encores and they have no Boondocks for 11PM.
Way to go guys. You just screwed up your whole early fall line-up plans. (FOX's fault too though)

I don't see how anything is really screwed up. The show isn't ready I guess so we just wait another month. No big deal really.

Perhaps there aren't enough episodes ready to go. They probably wouldn't want to have to go to reruns too quickly.

If 8 are ready by October 2nd, then they will have enough episodes to last 15 straight weeks (and possibly a holiday pre-emption).

Ah, I did not know that many were completed.

If you feel it's no big deal then why did you even respond to that comment?
Of course they still have plenty going for Fall but their onslaught of new comedy goodness has been halted because of this and the FOX issues. Anime fans could benefit from this though.

I suppose you would rather they just air one or two episodes before going itno reruns then?
Craptacular , its the only new show I was looking forward to on AS.

He responded because he disagreed with you. He's allowed to do that. Plus it really isn't THAT big a deal. You're allowed to diss because that's your opinion plus you have a point. But he is allowed to disagree and he also has a point. I don't mean to be rude or taking sides or whatever just saying it how it is. But as long as an opinion isn't outreagous, unsupportable or extremly offensive than it should be allowed. You know America and free speech and compromise and all that jazz.

Read above. They have 8 episodes ready. That's 16 weeks easy.

I wonder what the deal is. Did the production schedule slip, episodes need to be re-editted or toned down to pass standards? Who knows.
One thing is for certain, WS has established that they are absolutely horrendous at projecting their schedule. They should really sit on their announcements for a few additional weeks because it seems like half the time they have to go back and amend them anyway.
It's really quite amateurish. I can't think of a single network off the top of my head that is consistently as bad as they are in that regard.

Maybe they are running into trouble then. Regardless I doubt WS would do this unless they felt they had to.

One thing you have to give them credit for is that they appologized for airing the wrong Big O 2 episode, then they aired the right one the following week even though there was the banned Family Guy episode they had to air. But then again, that does show inconsistency right there I suppose. :)
Maybe they are running into trouble then. Regardless I doubt WS would do this unless they felt they had to. Well unless someone can say otherwise... they did postpone Home Movies Season 4 for reasons beyond my understanding. Oh, wait they had to delay it for.... Oblongs reruns?
Well if The Boondocks is as good as it looks, I think it will be worth the delay. So here's hoping this show is worth the wait, no matter what the reason for the delay is...

Must be issues with Mr. Samples, because the fact that they were jumping around at random with the production order clearly meant they had plenty of episodes ready to air.

Or Mr. Higgins, as he's doing a lot of the day to day on the schedule stuff.

IF 8 are ready. The way traditional half-hour animation works, one episode is finished every 2 weeks. Since Adult Swim operates on a turn-in-tapes-at-the-last-minute schedule, over half the season must be complete in order to run the season with a premiere on a weekly basis. For all we know, not enough episodes may be done, but we don't. It's delayed a month and that's that.

Ah, I misread your earlier post as well. I think we were both saying similar things, or something.

I presume they pushed it back to rework their schedule. Like I said in the other thread about the AS Fall schedule, it looked pretty weird at first. Note that it's now set to premiere on Sunday instead of Saturday. (Now, seriously, why premiere it smack in the middle of an action Saturday block [midnight, the originally scheduled time] instead of at the beginning?)

I had no idea whatsoever that they were making a Boondocks animated series so I guess that having to wait 'til November isn't such a big deal to me. Although.... I have been at a loss for things to watch on television...

It's the new fall season, there's plenty of things to watch on television.

Uhm... what?Perhaps, when one can foresee a possible quagmire, it's better to not ask such questions.
This is a letdown, particularly since I figure it's Adult Swim's big new show for the fall, but I certainly don't mind waiting a few extra weeks. It's not a huge delay, and since the show appears to be quite promising, I figure it'll be worth it.

Son-of-a-diddly! I was so looking forward to the new Boondocks show.
However, I do believe that they should leave Futurama's Saturday time slot alone.

I saw Subway ads that said November 6 with the same picture. Maybe just the EW ads are outdated
