There have been two different Voice Casts during Dragonball Z. Which one was your favorite? Or is Japanese your favorite?

The first cast was Canadian, actually.

The Japanese cast. ;)

Is there a way for me to edit my poll, so it says "Canadian" instead? I don't see any "edit" button where the poll is.

I like the latter voice cast, but maybe that's just me.

The Funimation cast.

Heh... at first, I didn't like the Funimation cast...., but then I guess they just kinda grew on me.

Mostly I like the Texan dubbing better, though I could never get used to the newer King Kai and Captain Ginyu.

I'd have to say I prefer the pre-Funimation cast. That cast had Brian Drummond, who I'm "OMGWTFBBQYMCANAACP teh pwnage and awesome!!!!onehundredeleven!!111" about.

And I can't forgive Funimation for the Ginyu Force.

Depends on the character; I like some of the japanese voices for some of them and the Funi voices for others.

I miss the voices from Seasons 1 & 2.

It's variable. Between the two casts, I prefer more of the Ocean Group cast's VAs. I remember when FUNi began its move to TX. It's still tough watching the Freeza saga with the FUNi cast. I'll admit that they sound way better in the uncut Saiyan/Namek sagas. They really have improved.

I still liked hearing Drummond's version of Vegeta better, and I still think Scott McNeil is "the man" to do Piccolo. Dave "Squatch" Ward is still a lot better than FUNi's version of King Kai. Sonny Strait's Krillin sounds a lot better now, and it sounds like he stopped trying to do Terry Klassen's version. So, while I still like the first cast, FUNi has really stepped up.

Actually, King Kai was played by Don Brown. Dave Ward was the Ox King.

Are you serious? Then, I must have looked at a source with incorrect information.

The Japanese cast is by far the best. Kaio-sama doesn't sound like a baffoon, Freeza doesn't sound like an old woman, and Majin Boo doesn't sound like a retarded child.

Canadian cast.

On a side note, the Saiyan and Namek sagas are the best ones in the series.

I'm under the impression that this probably should have been done in the Anime forum since it's not a talkback for the show, but I have to say FUNi. Once they stopped trying to impersionate Ocean Group, they really gained their own identity and excelled with the Cell Games.

I do feel that Stephanie Nadolny's uncut Gohan though is terrible, and the Ocean actor was better there.

The Spanish cast owns both of them.

I agree. Saffron Henderson did a better Gohan than Nadolny.

I very much disagree I think that Stephanie Nadolny's Gohan is very good, better than Saffron Hendersons.

To be more specific, In the Saiyan and Namek Saga Henderson's Gohan was good. I think her Gohan would have also been good in the Ginyu and Frieza Sagas. However, when Gohan is older, like in the Cell and Cell games sagas, I think Nadolny's Gohan would be much better.

Ocean cast.

FUNi cast grew on me but I miss Brian Drummond, Scott McNeil, and Ian James Corlett.

I haven't seen enough of the Japanese version to make a fair judgement. I haven't seen the Spanish version period.

Ocean with out a doubt , although Funis own cast has gotten good as time went on.

So which do you like more, the Canadian Frieza or the FUNimation Frieza?

The two Frieza sound nearly identical. :/

I prefer Pauline Newstone to Linda Young. While both made Freiza sounds more like a woman, Paula at least made Freiza sound more sinister and cruel more easily, whereas Linda sounds unnatural at times.

Saban's Canadian cast is eternal in my mind. Brian Drummond's Vegeta, Scott McNeil's Piccolo, it's all good in that.

The Spanish cast owns both of them. I agree! The spanish cast was the best...they didn't make piccolo sound demonic...though scott mcneil did do a good job with that, still spanish was better than the japanese voice acting cast
