Did anyone else on here pick up Madden 2006? What did you think of the new passing control system (QB vision)? I'm not so sure I'm a fan of the new function as it takes away the best part of my Madden game; quick reads and quick reactions based on which receiver runs the most precise route and makes the best cut. I'm a huge fan of the Super Star mode, however. It has room for improvement in the small details, but its a nice foundation for what could be a very expansive mode.

Speaking of the NFL, let's talk the 2005 season....

I don't know about everybody else, but I'm certainly glad football season is back. I look forward to the predictions thread (entertainment board) and to see what surprises this 2005 NFL season has in store. Here are a few of the big questions: Can the Patriots three-peat? Will the overblown Terrell Owens drama create enough inter-friction to affect Philadelphia's play? Will upstart receiving cores in Arizona and Detroit help either team to the playoffs? What will QB's like Big Ben and Payton do for encores to their 2004 seasons of great, albeit different, successes?

What are YOUR thoughts on these topics?

To try to answer some of these questions, and more so for fun, I have begun a website. Last season, I established the website, and while it got about 20 hits per day, I do want to give it a bit more exposure this season. It's a personal website provided by a free server, so I am having trouble finding promotional opportunities. It's really very basic, but if read, most feedback informs me that it has a certain flair and is pretty informative. Site features include:
-Predictions (preseason and week-to-week)
-Game by game analysis
-Midseason reviews
-Guest articles (let me know if you're interested)
-Q/A
-Top 10's
-Storylines and Current Events

It may seem like a shameless plug, but I would love to get everyone's insight on the site, knowing going in that its layout is very basic (excuse the ad on top) and mostly text. Last season, I hit at about 68% on my week to week picks (better than ESPN analysts and most other professional forecasts). For the most part, it was a successful season, and I'm hoping with enough exposure and feedback, it'll have even more success in 2005 and will hit a broader range of fans. I can't think of anybody else out there that I'd rather have perusing it than my fellow TZ'ers.

For those interested, the URL is: www.hayesnfl.100megsfree5.com (http://www.hayesnfl.100megsfree5.com/)

Here's to a great upcoming NFL season and everybody's good cheer and good health. Good luck to you and your teams!

Where's the ESPN presentation on EA Sports games?

I bought both NCAA Football '06 and Madden NFL '06. While both are excellent games, I was expecting there to be an ESPN presentation, at least on par with the Sega Sports ESPN 2K5 games. But there was nothing.

So, why did EA Sports buy the rights to ESPN licensing, if it's not going to use it? Very dissapointing.
