A platformer. Something appropriate for all-ages with lots of fun gameplay. I think I'd also try for something with a female lead (more along the lines of a "spunky girl" than the "mature, statuesque women" you get in stuff like Tomb Raider and other Teen and up games).
I grew up on stuff like Mario and Sonic, so it's my first instinct to go for a platformer.
Okay, you control this old guy in a trenchcoat. He is a pyromaniac. You must sneak into a building, unnoticed, and find something to ignite. Now, you take control of a flame with legs, who must run through the building, igniting everything it touches. Your goal is to leave the building as a heap or rubble. If you take too long, the flames you have already created will begin to die, and so will you.
It sounds like something that would become popular in Japan, but bother parenting groups in America.

As for me, I'm still wanting my current gen Sailor Moon rpg, complete with absurd villians and laughable localization. And so long as I'm fantasizing, I want this RPG to be one where you don't have to spend days of your life leveling up your characters.

A game that really takes advantage of the Eyetoy and PS2 microphone. Such peripherals ought to be the future of gaming.
Maybe a laser tag game to use with the portable systems. If only the DS had a GPS system like the Gizmondo. I think it's the Gizmondo that has that feature. Anyway, imagine if you will. You run around a WalMart parking lot, the one screen shows the location of everyone else playing the game in the area. The other screen scrolls around a deserted wasteland as you move, when another player is detected, he appears as a ninja or something onscreen. You zap the other player, he/she disappears from the game for thirty seconds. If you want to pick up his/her weapons or ammunition, then you have to physically run to the spot where the player was standing. You could communicate with friends by using the microphone. You could even draw them a map on the touch screen, to help them find a way to your area if they get stuck.
Now that would beat all. But what would it require? Hmmmm, I don't know. I'm not very technical. Maybe such a laser tag/shooter game would be better suited for a cellphone.

-An RPG game using characters from many different games, like Super Mario or Donkey Kong or Legend of Zelda. The game would require multiplayer.
-A fighting game with hundreds of fighters to choose from, as opposed to 10 or 20.

While playing Knights of the Old Republic, I kept thinking "Man...this game would be even cooler if it were actually real-time action."
So, if I had my way, I would make an RPG that was very Legend of Zelda-based with some KotOR leveling/dialogue elements and Tales of Symphonia-esque fighting engine. Basically, a party of characters, upgradable weapons and gear, open-ended plot, a huge world, all being controlled by pressing buttons in real-time. Oh, and LESS LOAD TIMES. I swear, there's nothing that ruins a game as much as pausing to load every time you pass through a gate.
I bet this game already exists and someone's going to point it out.

I love the Pyromaniac idea. Sounds neat. Once (when I was a little more out of touch with the Video Gaming community) I had the impression that this company had made a game where you could upload Gamecube, PS2 and Xbox game characters from various disks to actually play as the characters.
I always wanted to see Pikachu do a fatality on Sub Zero. I imagine that it would go something like this...
Narrator: Finish him!
(Pikachu stabs his tail into Sub Zero's abdomen (sp?) and pulls out his intestines. He slurps them up lightning-fast with his mouth<no pun intended>, then flicks off the camera. Sub Zero falls to the ground and Pikachu rips his head off and stuffs it into a Pokeball.)
That would, in all honesty, be the coolest game ever made.

I think this is about the third time I've posted this:
It would be a computer RPG set in a kind of a psedo-1950s USA based on old sitcoms and B-movies of that era or associated with that era. Keep in mind every thing is intended to be tongue-in-cheek.
The Back Story:
World War II went a whole lot worse than it did. The Nazi put alot of resource into developing the A-Bomb before WWII and managed to bring it to bear about half-way into the War. WWII dragged on longer and was much more devastating in Europe. Most of continental Europe was left a radioactive waste land that the Soviets made claim to after WWII. In the Pacific Japan was successful in destroying the Panama Canal, dropping a super-plague on the US West coast, and digging into China. Japan itself was left devastated (through non-nuclear means) but Japanese troops still controlled areas of China. The Marshal Plan never happened. The US became increasingly isolationist, but the Red Scare managed to still be in full swing and then some. Ike is essentially President for life. And all Hell has broken lose.
In the game a player would control a party like in many other RPGs, but in this RPG the party would be the stereotypical 1950s traditional nuclear family (although there would be a Widow/"My Husband ran off with some European Tramp!"/"My Husband ran off with one of his Army Bubbies!" option and a Bachelor/Bachelorette option). Each character in the family would start out with a background appropriate to their place in the family. The background would determine which areas of skill (melee and range weapon effectiveness of varying kinds, social skills, scientific knowledge and application, handyman[or woman], vehicle use, business savvy, etc. etc. etc.) the character starts out with points in and can advance easiest in. The background would also determine special abilities the characters could gain which are attained through side-quests. For example that dad would be the typical man in the gray flannel suit that a little bit of social skills and business savvy but excels at combat because he's a WWII vet; or he didn't see much action or was F-4 and completely threw himself into the business world so moderate combat skill but alot of business savvy and social; or even the heroic scientist. The Mom could be a typical house wife (but keep in mind typical in this case means she can use any typical house hold item as a deadly weapon); someone who still maintains their Rosie-the-Riveter skills; or the Avon/Tupper-Ware lady. The Son could be a young Denise the Menace type; a teen Rebel without a Cause (good with smaller melee weapons, handguns, motorcycles, and hot-rods)[this would also work with the Daughter]; a Little Buckaroo type with all the skills of a little cowboy; a Little Space Man good with energy based weapons and a natural affinity for the use of alien technology; or a science nerd. Not to sure about the Daughter but maybe like a cheerleader that's really good with acrobatic combat or a Good Girl that's good with social skills and poison use.
Thought the characters should not be too strictly bound in the case of most skills because of background.
An example of an extra ability gained through a side quest:
"Valume Fighter"-Mom gains combat and other skill bonus when heavily under use influence of valume or similar drug.
The Family would have to face and defeat things threatening their neighborhood such as: bug eyed aliens with impossible stupid but yet some how effective plans; Communist Spies; mutants created as a result of radiation, toxic waste, or the super-plague; mad scientist of both the domestic and Operation Paper Clip variety; hypnotically regressed beast-people; Nazi cultists; electronic brains with dreams of robotic world domination; biker gangs both mundane and working for alien overlords; rampaging atomic zombies; Government conspiracies; blobs; pod people; giant ants; Mole People; Monolith Monsters; blood sucking vegetables from outer space; large ants with human faces; hideous Mer-People that terrorize Bikini clad beach party goers; etc.
Weapons would include: switch blades, cleavers, frying pans, vacuums, pearl necklace garrotes, welding torches, rivet guns, Colt PeaceMakers, Colt 1911s, BARs, flame throwers, tesla guns, alien death rays, sling shots with a variety of explosive and poisonous ammo, smoking pipes that double either as a mini-flame-thrower or a poison-gas-thrower, way too acidic perfumes, razor edged poodle-skirts, barb-wire pompoms, BBQ tongs, deadly throwing 45 records, tanks, the family’s own personal Atomic Betty, etc.
Another focus of the game would be improving the family’s home with items such as: the latest appliances, nice furniture, lawn decorations, a swing set for the kids, a nice with car (with tail-fins), a fall-out shelter, a tupper-ware detention center, a surveillance center, an armory, a lab, a robotic servant, etc.
If there's a scientist in the family thinks such as cloning devices, invisibility machines, combat robots, chemical elixirs, and the like can be made.
2-D graphics would be alright, but 3-D graphics would be preferable for no other reason that to watch the rag-doll physics when Mom slices an atomic zombie in half with a six-foot long cleaver.

A fighting game with EVERY character ever made. There's something like that called "Mugen",theres even some characters you can get that aren't from fighting games like Yakko and Wakko from the Animaniacs. If I made a game it would be GTA:SA with cartoon characters I created and the race physics and stuff would be like Burnout 3,it wouldn't be near as violent as GTA:SA,it would probably be rated T.:D
