"Come a little closer, we got something new....Cartoon Network is the thing that's gonna keep you cool..." *slaps self* Okay, I watch waaaay too much CN...

Sheesh, how did I miss this one? Maybe, it's because I had to work during the evening? Anyway, I'll probably see it later this week. It's good to hear about the Eds returning with new episodes.

I tuned in to see a few packaging things during YGO and One Piece (incidently the Luffy image they use for icon for One Piece is freak'n hillarious) and caught it before One Piece (I then noted there was no specific bumps for OP and then stopped watching). Naruto sounded messed up... well hopefully he'll sound better through a whole episode.

Its both. The show has one more special(Halloween), and two new seasons coming as well.

The first episode has Bo-bobo introducing himself via his full name about three or four times in a row.

I thought about that too but we know CL is Miguzi so we can assume YGO GX is still Miguzi as well. Since there's really no room on Toonami.

For some reason, I think I'll like the Naruto dub.

Maybe so...

We can at least be assured it'll be easier on the ears than One Piece's dub judging from Zatch Bell and Steven Blum is Kakashi so as far as I'm concerned... all is right in the world. (not really, but you all know what I mean... or do you?)

(not really, but you all know what I mean... or do you?) I don't see how Zatch Bell got a great dub at all. Most of the voices suck, the dub music and intro are horrible, and anything even slightly inappropiate is immediately cut out. The reason Zatch Bell is thought of as a decent dub is because it doesn't have much to butcher. The show even has a Kindergarten fanbase in Japan. If Viz Media gives Naruto the Zatch Bell treatment, the result won't be pretty.

They keep the drama. That's more than can be said for One Piece. I don't think any of the voices are bad in Zatch Bell actually but most of the voices are bad in One Piece. And Sanji alone makes the dub horrible. Zatch's voice can be a little annoying though.

No matter what, there's always going to be someone who b**ches about the dub of Naruto.

But I don't have subs or anything so I can't really give an opinion on his voice. Hell the only reason I heard of Naruto was because people were afraid of it getting dubbed by 4Kids.

But anyway, does anyone know Naruto's start date? I'll have a reason to watch Toonami again! *coughputYuYubackonToonamicough*

Watch the preview again, because they say "We've got new episodes on Miguzi and Toonami." They mention the two specifically together, meaning they don't say which show is on what, but we all know from the CN press releases that Code Lyoko is on Miguzi (they said that in the summer preview), and Al Kahn said Yu-Gi-Oh! GX is on Miguzi. Then again, they could always torture us and replace Yu-Gi-Oh! with Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.

What's slightly mis-leading is. "New episodes in Miguzi, new shows in Toonami" and most consider GX a new show so it seems like only Lyoko and Teen Titans are for Miguzi. But we know better so to speak.

I partly agree. It seems like everyone's holding the Zatch Bell up as this high standard that other dubs should strive to, but the only reason they do this is because the other dubs on Toonami, like One Piece and Yu-Gi-Oh! are awful. I don't think Zatch Bell's dub is horrible, I mean, it's watchable, but by no means is it the standard that we should hold dubs up to.

I couldn't help noticing they snuck in little Dexter there midway through, also the Townsville City Hall at the beginning, even though those shows are cancelled. I'm anticipating new Eds the most along with CKND, but don't care at all for those many new anime which will most probably be dominating the daily schedule.

I hope it's okay if I point and laugh at you for a few minutes TrogdorNyimbhat. Not to be offense or anything, but when was the last time any anime ever Dominated the weekday schedule? Okay, maybe Dragonball Z, but that's the only one I can think of. Remember to dominate, a show has to be on at least three times a day. And there is no chance that any anime on CN will ever get that again, at least in the near future anyway. And to run through this show by show....

Naruto: Sure it's getting two spots on Toonami, but how long you think that will last? Besides that's only one day. With luck we'll have a Late Friday encore for it, but that's it.

Bobobo Bo-Bobo - There's an even less chance of this getting an encore, and it will only have on spot on Toonami.

Yu-Gi-Oh GX: It will probably (hopefully) be on Miguizi. At most, it will get a weekday morning encore at all, but that's even doubtful.

IGPX: this isn't even an anime technacilly, but it could have a lot of showings IF it becomes popular. After what happened with Megas, chances are CN isn't going to wait to give a show chances until it proves itself. It might get more then the others since it is an original series and CN pimps those out more then anything else. See Juniper Lee, Teen Titans, etc. (Yeah I don't know about Justice League either).

Master Moron

Dex is part of the Fridays title sequence (over here, it is used to introduce a Friday premiere episode), and apparently the presentation in the US is centered around City Hall.

Anyways, my thoughts:
- Is that a girl announcer on that clip? CN Asia also has this announcer, but only for promos (and bumpers) for Pet Alien and Juniper Lee.
- Just gimme my CKND and I'm a happy camper :D (Another Joey Beatles episode? Eh?)
- Okay, what kind of moron wants to name a show BOBOBOBO BOBOBO (especially with the lack of stressed syllables in Japanese)?
- IGPX (that giant robot show seen over the announcer saying "new shows in Toonami") seems to have that "Heavy Gear" feel to it...

Ultra Mike What I'm pointing out is that with all these new anime shows the programming schedule will be clugged with them, even though those shows will not get three time-slots a day individually, they will have to be featured at least once, which is equally as bad as far as I'm concerned as I see anime as a cheap gap filler. So airing five different anime shows is same to me as airing a single episode over.

Cartoon Network definitely does not see Naruto as cheap filler. The series has hundreds of episodes and they want to turn it into a major hit, that's why they're airing an hour premiere on Saturday followed by an encore of the hour premiere. Viz is also going to flood stores with merchandise. They want you to see people wearing Naruto headbands and t-shirts whenever you leave the house. If it was just filler they wouldn't be advertising it so much.

And IGPX isn't filler either as it's a Toonami original. They wouldn't pay to produce filler.

The only one of those new shows that I could possibly see as cheap filler is Bo-bo-bo-bo Bo-bo-bo, but unless you know how much Cartoon Network paid for the rights to it then your argument doesn't hold much water.

And Naruto is only going to air on Saturdays with a repeat on Friday, not every day. When's the last time Cartoon Network aired five different animes every day?

I have no clue how much CN pays for shows, but if they will not approve any movie except for CKND and cancel so many original programming in favor of renting cartoons from half a world away, I would come to the assumption it would be due to budget constraints.

When's the last time Cartoon Network aired five different animes every day?Not sense Toonami left weekdays and even then they'd have to have Pokemon or YGO in prime time to make it 5 usually. But there are four different animes currently on CN daytime on weekdays (DBZ, OP, DM, and YGO).

I wouldn't say Bo is filler nor was Zatch Bell. One Piece maybe... It seems CN doesn't pick up anime just as filler these days (but Adult Swim does given the ratings comparrison but even so AS anime is specifically placed there to attempt to gain a more mainstream following like FMA, Ghost in the Shell and Samurai Champloo) - which is sometimes not so successful.

Pokemon and YGO are sorta filler now because they don't pull in the ratings quite like they used to. As is Rave and DICE though originally both were intended to for Toonami to capitalize on the popular concepts and neither panned out.

CN is somewhat strategic with their anime pick-ups. Probably because they are indeed getting more costly. Dang man Naruto was 6 digits an episode, that's a lot for an anime. And budget or not though acquisitions are cheaper than originals it all adds up. That's why acquisitions aren't getting it easy these days. They used to run them a lot even when they weren't "winners" now if it's not a "winner" then it's gone.

CN actually had a very large budget this year so they extended several series and commision quite a few new ones. Budget constraint aren't the issue really at least for the most part.

CN picks up anime because you can buy whole seasons at a time and when you're lucky you'll find the next Pokemon, DBZ or Sailor Moon and then that can be milked for years. Naruto's a long term plan just like DBZ before it. So I hope they don't run it into the ground. Weekend encores up the wazoo are okay I guess but they seem to be overdoing it just a bit. But since it improves Toonami overall even if it is reruns I don't mind in the least. Sure beats YGO.
