Does anyone here remember that "crime" block that was on CN, a while back?
It had Hong-Kong Phoey and the one about the shark and the underwater band.

At one point, I used to fantasize about the Mysteries Inc. block morphing into a block of more recent and original shows.
"The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries" seemed a natural acquisition around that time...
They'd just released "Scooby Doo on Zombie Island" at that point, and I got to thinking, man, wouldn't a new Scooby Doo series with a more mature cast and a greater focus on the action and the supernatual be awesome? Instead, we got "What's New Scooby Doo".
How about spinning off 2 Stupid Dogs' "Super Secret Secret Squirrel" into its' own series? It could have been pretty cool.
And remember that Cartoon Network "Groovie" with the Jabberjaw lunchbox? That could have been interesting as a series. Kind of like Scooby Doo but with an edgier alt-rock sensibility. But for some completely illogical reason, I've always had a soft spot for Jabberjaw.
Somewhat unrealistic, I know, but it was a fun flight of fancy.

It wasn't much of a block when you consider all they aired was Hong Kong Phooey.

If I recall correctly they aired Hong Kong Phooey, Scooby Doo, Josie the the Pussycats, The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan, Jabber Jaw, and some other Hanna Barbera "mystery" shows. The idea was the the viewer could help solve mysteries as the show went on. The bumpers between shows aired trivia and clues, so by the end of the block, you'd be able to figure out the mystery.
Lord Dalek, you obviously didn't watch it much if you think it only had one show. Next time people feel like commenting, let's make sure you actually have something useful to say.
