That was the weirdest thing. We just had an earthquake here in Montana. I was sitting at the computer and suddnely the screen was shaking a little. I thought I had kicked the desk or something, but then I realized I was shaking as well, and I wasn't touching the desk... and it kept going. I've never experienced an earthquake, so that was a strange experience. No damage that I know of, but still, it was weird.

What was the magnitude on the Richter Scale?

5.6 is pretty big, isn't it? Any significant injuries or property damage?

Ever hear people from California talk about how funny it is to watch people who aren't from there freak out over even the smallest earthquakes? I know I'd be one of those people to freak out over the slightest tremor (mostly because I wouldn't realize what was going on until, like, five minutes after the event). So if I do happen to be in an earthquake at any time in my life, I hope no one is around to witness what will likely be an embarassing reaction.

Apparently, it was a 5.6 with the epicenter near Dillon, MT. Earthquakes are pretty scary if you've felt it for the first time. I remember when I experienced my first earthquake. It was when I was around 6 or 7 years old. I was at my cousins house and we were all playing video games in front of the TV. Then suddenly the pictures and frames on the wall started to sway side to side. One of the glasses on the counter smashed on the floor. We all ran to the living room and just waited there under the table with our parents. Back then, I thought there was a large garbage truck shaking the house.

Living in Califorina for a few year, every kid was taught how to prepare and survive an earth quake. In school, we prepared little emergency bags with food, water, and flashlights. We asaw vedios on how to protect yourself in an earthquake, and to put plummer's tape around yoour heater or something. After an Earthquake, do no turn on your lights in case of a gas leak.

While living there we only felt one Earthquake. It was a small short one, but a few of my mom's thing fell down and broke. It's was'n't scarry, just seem bizzare.

I have only been in very minor earthquakes. Being a Nebraskan,I once had a nasty encounter with a tornado. I am thankful it didn't hit my house but I was so scared that I was crying.

Don't get traumatized by that. Try to clear your mind from that earthquake man. You don't know. You'll encounter severe nightmares if you keep worrying about what happen. Think about the circus, get your mind of quakes.

5.6 is pretty big, isn't it? Any significant injuries or property damage? Not here anyway. We only had small tremors around here, so we didn't realize it was an earthquake until everything kept moving. Nothing in our house fell over or anything, but it was just a strange experience. But now I can buy the t-shirt that says "I survived the earthquake":p
