Rhino Home Video is now taking suggestions for which episodes to include on future MST3K releases.
Go here to vote:
http://www.mst3kinfo.com/poll.html
My choices were:
1. Godzilla vs. Megalon
2. Track of the Moon Beast
3. The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies
4. Operation Double 007
5. Monster A-Go-Go
Make your choices known!

So many choices...
I wish Comedy Central or Sci-Fi would start showing this series again. This show would fit in on almost any cable channel: USA, Trio, TBS, TV Land (they are showing movies now), E!, hell, they could even syndicate the show. It'd be better than showing talk shows and courtroom dramas.

I voted a few days ago. My choices are as followed:
-Gamera
-Fugitive Alien ("He tried to kill me with a forklift!")
-The Day the Earth Froze ("Oh no! They're doing it clown style.")
-Jack Frost ("Colder than a bucket of penguin poop. It's colder than a polar bear's butt. The dogs are sticking to the fire hydrant.")
-Puma Man ("...he flies like a moron")

Oh, man, so many good choices there, but mine are:
1) Future War (It's neither the future nor a war)
2) Horrors of Spider Island (Dancing girls in bikinis...the horror of Spider Island)
3) Invasion of the Neptune Men (Suppository Man!)
4) Puma Man (Help, I'm falling at a 60 degree angle, breaking all the laws of physics!)
5) The Leach Woman (Tonight we ride mini-bikes and eat hard candy!)
Knightmare

I've always wanted to see a Gaint Monster Collection so I picked
1)THE DEADLY MANTIS
2)THE GIANT SPIDER INVASION
3)GORGO
4)GODZILLA VS. MEGALON
5)VILLAGE OF GAINTS
There a few others that I'd love to see on dvd like:
THE INCREDIBLY STRANGE CREATURES WHO STOPPED LIVING AND BECAME MIXED-UP ZOMBIES
JACK FROST
ZOMBIE NIGHTMARE
RIDING WITH DEATH
FINAL SACRIFICE
and PUMA MAN

1. Robot Holocaust (Nothing from Season 1 has been released on video AFAIK) Actually, there is one Season 1 episode, the Crawling Hand, that is available on both VHS and DVD.

I saw the survey on Satellite News the other day. Can't remember exactly what I voted for. Two choices were definitely "Last of the Wild Horses" and "Monster A-Go-Go." Anything else I voted for was a Comedy Central ep that hasn't been released yet. I'm actually mad that they put so many Sci-Fi eps in the new boxes because I already have those on VHS!
BTW, I noticed SN got control of the domain mst3k.com. Very nice.

I'd like to vote but I'm a relative newbie to the show. All I've seen are The Movie, Santa Claus vs The Martians, Catalina Caper and Skydivers, most of which are spread over my copies of The Essentials and Volume 1 DVDs (I'm saving Manos for optimum comedy potential). Anyone got any suggestions for eps worth voting for?

santa claus.
the final sacrifice.
invasion of the neptune men.
werewolf.
earth vs the spider.
...and every boxed checked.:)

I voted for 903- Puma Man ("every man is a wuss...") of course, my favorite episode of all. Also for 813- Jack Frost ("so that's a girl. I thought I was a girl") and 910- Final Sacrifice ("Rosdower..."). I would be very happy if those show up on DVD. :D
as for the checkboxes, I checked off for the origonal trailers, behind the scnes, and animated menus.

How about this:
Establish MST commentaries as a premium extra for DVDs. So if you have a cheesy film like Gigli that you're worried no one will buy, you contract for a hilarious MST3K commentary. And sales explode!

After talking to an MST3K knowledgable friend, I voted thusly:
Soultaker (him and another friend would love this on DVD, so my good deed for the day)
Puma Man (heard so many good things about this)
The Incredible Melting Man (this too)
Diabolic
Invasion of the Neptune Men

Pumaman- "His fortress of BALDITUDE!"
"It`s S&M day at the field museum"
"Go go you non-british guy!"
I love this one. I was so happy I found it onine.
Prince of Space- 7 words "HAH HAH HAH HAH ha ha ha..."
"I`ll throw my doll at you!"
Space Mutiny- "Thank you captain for giving that dead woman another chance"
Mole people-" The LOAD"
"This movie is just ropes and asses!"

Then myself, and every other MST3K junkie in the free world, would go broke buying movies we'd never, evereverevereverevereverever buy under normal circumstances.

I've voted for mostly pre-SciFi channel eps, as there are a LOT more of those tapes floating around than the comedy channel years. (and as there are no chances of the KTMA years going to dvd, there's no point in mentioning them... :hugs single KTMA tape: )
5. 317 VIKING WOMEN VS. THE SEA SERPENT with short: THE HOME ECONOMICS STORY
I'm a PRINCE!! I lost my tape a million years ago. :shakes fist at ex:
4. 604 ZOMBIE NIGHTMARE Adam West.
This was GOLD.
3. 316 GAMERA VS. ZIGRA
It's the one Gamera I don't have. So there.
2. 206 THE RING OF TERROR with short: THE PHANTOM CREEPS PT 3
To this day, one of my favorites.
1. 419 THE REBEL SET with short: JOHNNY AT THE FAIR
=)
I'm sure everyone and their brother will vote for 904/Werewolf. And that's fine, they should. The best from the SciFi years. One of their best ever. But with everyone voting for that, I like to give some of the lesser knowns a vote here and there.

I want this episode mainly for the fact that we actually got Pearl in the theater for the first act. She was actually pretty funny.

It was the famous Mirror Universe episode that put Frank and Forrester in the theater between segments one and two. It's always a delight when someone other than J/M&TB is in the theater.

Wait.... is that movie honestly a Parts remake? 'Cause that's what I thought when I saw the commercials, but I couldn't believe anyone would remake an MST-grade movie.
Temple Fugate
07-21-2005, 02:44 PM
It's kind of a remake, though for the most part of what I've heard, it takes the basic premise from Parts and constructs an entirely new movie. If you ask me, it ought to be much better than Parts. If they're gonna remake movies, I'd rather see a good remake of a terrible film rather than a terrible remake of a good film.
Rhino should take this opportunity to make a single-disc release of the Parts episode to cooincide with The Island's release. They'd be the only people out there actually TELLING moviegoers that The Island is a remake. I've seen several articles on the movie, and one in Newsweek with a Michael Bay interview, and NONE of them mention Parts whatsoever. EDIT: Finally! The July 29 issue of Entertainment Weekly, in response to several letters from readers (probably MiSTies) ran a small column comparing Island to Parts on page 14.

When I think about it, Parts actually had a decent idea/premise... it's just the plot / execution was so lacking. The MST episode was hilarious, though. "Tonight on Biography!"

I saw the ads, and thought to myself, my goodness, if I didn't know better, this is a Parts/Clonus remake.
related: Saw the dvd for Parts/Clonus in Best Buy. I got an enormous kick out of the pics/write up on the back. Not ONE of the dopey dark haired guy, who only happens to be the main character. Of course there's one of Graves and of the nose woman. =\
LOL. Maybe somebody will do a Space Mutiny remake, with exterior shots lifted from the remade Battlestar Galactica series. Not just exterior shots, IIRC. But what amased me, was that they didn't make a single comment about that in their rips. Can anyone explain that to me?

Not just exterior shots, IIRC. But what amased me, was that they didn't make a single comment about that in their rips. Can anyone explain that to me? I'm guessing that the MST3K writers felt it would be WAY to easy to make Battlestar Galactica riffs and thus decided to avoid them (similar to how the writers attempted to avoid any Brady Bunch riffs when they MiSTied a film that that starred the actor who played Mike Brady).

The SciFi Channel site used to have writeups of each episode by the cast/crew, and I think I remember them citing this reason for not mentioning Battlestar Galactica. Didn't Space Mutiny have enough stuff to make fun of, anyway? How can you not love a movie where the climactic chase takes place on modified golf carts going five miles an hour? :p

Does anyone think that Rhino should try doing a themed set? Like, get four western episodes, four giant monster episodes, four movies with bad guys named Paul, or even one of those four-part story arcs from season eight?
