View Full Version : Ultimate Entertainment Test--Franchise Loyalty: What is your top ten?

I've always wondered. People's interest in entertainment range from movies, TV shows, books, comics, video games, sports etc. Often we do top ten lists of all of these things and ask which ones we like best. What if we did a top ten list to accompany ALL genres and ALL franchises. It's simple: if you are a fanboy or girl list the top ten franchises or things in Entertainment that you consider yourself a fan of in order of the loyalty you have to the franchise it belongs to. In other words, if you are a bigger Star Trek fan than any of your other entertainment interests that goes at the top of the list. If you are a huge sports fan, list your favorite sport and team. Can't stop playing video games? List your favorite series.

To make it interesting why don't we all give REASONS why we are loyal to a particular franchise? (note: this is not required)

I'll start by listing my favorite franchises and some of the media that it covers.

1. The Muppets--The Muppet Show/ Sesame Street/ Fraggle Rock/ Muppet Babies/ Bear in the Big Blue House/ The Muppet Movie/ The Great Muppet Caper/ The Muppets Take Manhattan, etc. (Televison and Movies). I love the Muppets for many reasons. I am most loyal to this franchise above all others and consider myself a bigger Muppet fan than anything else. I collect stuffed animals so the Muppets plushies make it even more fun. I laugh when I see their movies and TV shows. There is something about these puppets and their personalities that makes me captivated when they are on-screen. Jim Henson was a genius and I believe his contributions to children's entertainment is immeasurable.

2. Disney Comics-- Walt Disney's Comics and Stories/ Uncle Scrooge/ Donald Duck/ Mickey Mouse (comic books). I am more loyal to the duck stories by Carl Barks and Don Rosa than anything. I love the fact that it is a fully realized universe and has a lot of things to teach you about history and mythology. I feel Duckburg is it's own real world with a bustling city, mile high futuristic skyscrapers and a certian concrete bin filled with money. Reading these books are some of the the most fun things I can do with my spare time.

3. The DC Animated Universe--Batman/ Superman/ Batman Beyond/ Justice League/ Static Shock/ The Zeta Project/ Batman: Mask of the Phantasm/ Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker etc. (animated series and animated movies). I'm a sucker for continuity and lots of melodrama so I'm a sucker for the DCAU. If Gargoyles had lasted beyond 65 episodes it might have been higher on the list but with over 400 cartoons to it's name the DCAU outstrips it's continuing storylines by a wide margin. Justice League Unlimted has done an admirable job of tying all of the series together and making unrelated stories seem to fit into a larger picture. I think it's great.

4. The Buffyverse--Buffy The Vampire Slayer/ Angel (television series): With only two series to it's name Joss Whedon's most famous franchise has managed to never-the-less rack up a continuing mythology that puts The X-Files to shame. Full of twists and turns and unexpected humor and tragedy this horror/romance/drama/comedy/fantasy never failed to surprise me even when Buffy or Angel were having a bad season (of which there were more than one). Waiting for Joss to get off his ass and actually continue it has become a frustration that I feel I am probably not the only one suffering from.

5. Farscape.--Farscape/Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars (television series): Only on for four fabulous seasons and a TV miniseries John Chricton is the coolest sci-fi hero in the universe. Sci-Fi writers in the future instead of trying to create the next Captain Kirk will find the next John Chricton to be the model to follow in the next generation of sci-fi series.

6. Bone-- Bone/ Stupid Stupid Rat Tails/ Rose (comic books): My second favorite comic book of all time Bone is Uncle Scrooge meets Lord of the Rings. A silly and sweet story evolves into an epic fantasy of Tolkien proportions as the story progresses. With Breath-taking art and a surprising story this classic from Jeff Smith is one of my all time favorites.

7. Star Trek-- Star Trek/ Star Trek: The Next Generation/ Star Trek: Deep Space Nine/ Star Trek Voyager/ Enterprise/ Star Trek Movies etc: (television series and movies). Yeah, I'm surprised this is on the list too. After Voyager and Enterprise I thought I'd had my fill of the now stangnant franchise, but the truth is at one point when Deep Space Nine was in it's prime I considered myself a Trekkie beyond all other franchises. Sure it sucks now. But it used to be the best space opera around.

8. The Simpsons (animated series): I consider the early years of this show to be the best cartoon ever made. It HAS dipped in quality for the past seven season seasons but it's contirbution to animation can never be sullied (no matter how hard they try.)

9. Harry Potter--Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone/ Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets/ Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban/ Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire/ Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix. (books) For a kids book writer J.K. Rowling sure knows how to throw twists and turns at me and keep me in suspense. Honestly, sometimes the writing is trite but the story is so involving and the world so fully realized that I hardly even notice (Fone Bone said darkly).

10. Gargoyles--Gargoyles (animated series). Honestly, at first I was going to give this spot to my beloved Calvin and Hobbes but I realize that Gargoyles' dramatic and fantastic stories have impacted me more. I was truly wrapped up in this series and my jaw became fully unhinged after seeing The Gathering Part Two. Greg Weisman also knows how to make his fans feel special so that's always a good thing too.

Honorable Mention. Calvin and Hobbes--Calvin and Hobbes (comic strip). Because I want to meet Bill Watterson. And I never will.

... oh, yeah, I'm sure Nintendo and DC and all fall in my top ten list, but...

1. Star Trek - Includes all of the television series, the novels, the video and computer games, the movies, the music, and misc. merchandise as well. Has been a favorite for many years. Awesomely creative, brilliantly written, and delightfully optimistic and humanistic. Just incredible entertainment.

2. Pokemon - Includes the anime, the video games, the music, toys (But in my case, not the cards). An enjoyable fantasy universe that's always consistently upbeat and just plain fun. Still one of the best cartoons out there with top-notch writing, voice acting and animation.

3 - Disney - Includes certain cartoons (specifically Rescue Rangers, Tale Spin, Dave the Barbarian, Darkwing Duck, DuckTales, Gummi Bears, Goof Troop, Dave the Barbarian, classic Disney shorts), video games, comic books, various movies, misceallanous merchandise and more. Especially the classic cartoons of the Disney afternoon block--purely enjoyable and upbeat escapist entertainment with some of the best animation and voice acting around. Kingdom Hearts and Disney Sports Soccer are two great games too!

4 - Mario - Leads the greatest video game company there is with some incredibly great games. Also includes the cartoons and misc. merchanise. From the original platformer to upcoming classics-to-be like Mario Superstar Baseball, if he's in a game, you can be sure of the quality. Enjoyable blood/violence-free games with a classic rescue-the-princess plot or just crossover sports coolness!

5 - The Olympics - The most awesome sporting event bar none. Incredible breath of events, including favorites like Badminton, Softball, Women's Basketball, Women's Beach Volleyball, Track & Field, Table Tennis, Women's Soccer and more. NBC's presentation is through the roof with quality--stirring music, awesome graphics, and a simply incredible amount of coverage.

6 - The WB Silver Age - Includes Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures, Pinky & The Brain, Histeria!, Freakazoid! and Pinky, Elmyra, and the Brain and all related merhcandise - The best comedy cartoons of the 90s and arguably of all time, these are just great always enjoyable. Voiced by some of the best voice actors out there and always well-animated. We need another TV-G animated show that parodies pop-culture!!

7 - Sonic the Hedgehog - Includes all of the games, several animated series, various merchandise (I Own a plushie!) and more. The second greatest video game series of all time. Sega's masterpiece Sonic the Hedgehog 2 leads this--but I'm stoked about Sonic Gems Collection (much more than Zelda: TP ). Classic good games with a great plot (rescue animals and beat evil!) and awesome graphics from Genesis to GameCube. Sonic X is a great anime too.

8 - The DC Animated Universe - Especially includes Superman: TAS, Batman: TAS, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, and Krypto the Superdog and related video games, themes, comics and misc. merchandise - Great stories of good vs. evil and definately some of the best dramatic television ever made next to Star Trek (or in Krypto's case, just an awesomely-stylized toon!). Incredible animation, good voice acting and solid comic-style writing.

9 - Power Rangers - Includes especially the original series, Zeo, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, SPD, the first movie, the early video games, the comics and action figures, etc. The originals (and Ninja Storm) are enjoyably-campy tales of good vs. evil that invoke powerful nostagia. The two most recent series are less campy (but not deadly serious like the boring Time Force) but still quite enjoyable. Very creative and awesomely stylized.

10 - Star Wars - Includes all 6 great movies, the tons of video games, books, comics, technical manuals, etc. While not as good as Star Trek in my opinion, Star Wars does offer an enjoyable fantasy/sci-fi universe. The video games are great in their variety and presentation. The soundtrack is solid and some of the books are enjoyable too.

Honorable Mentions:

Atlanta Braves - Been a fan since childhood. Still my favorite baseball team.
The Marvel Animated Universe (90s) - Great cartoons, especially Fantastic Four and Spider-Man.
Sega Sports Video Games - The best presented sports games ever. Top-notch commentary (especially NFL2K)
Cartoon Network - One of the best TV stations out there.
The Weather Channel - Since I'm working to become a TV weatherman, this makes perfect sense to me.
S Club 7, Kylie Minogue, Hilary Duff, Belinda Carlisle - Four of my very favorite musical groups/artists.

1. Star Trek: Dedicated Cult Following, Great Shows and Movies, Good Toys, Ok Books, Interesting Games, the series has been running for decades and still is my favorite.

2. Star Wars: Movies that changed Science Fantasy movies fovever, and has influenced popular culture. It's modern myth in the making.

3. The Lord of the Rings: Tolkein's Book's as well as the Jackson movies. There are several editions and versions of each series. The story is timeless and still holds meaning.

3. Digimon: 4 series, 6 movies, and alot of Bad merchandice, the francise introduce a sort of Post-cyberpunk fanatsy world with memorable charecters and story. It' still has a loyal, small cult following online.

4. Mario: Plumber, Doctor, Race Car Driver, Spy. (Oh, forget the last one). Mario and his gang have made Vedio Game History more than once, and the gameplay is still fun.

6. Gundam: The Star Trek/Wars of Japan, the series is deep, dark and interesting. Spaning decades and alternative worlds, it's still great.

7. Calvin and Hobbes: Best Comic ever.

8. Magic: The Gathering: The first CCG (or at one of the first) that gained widespread popularity and is still enjoyable to play, expanding into a few games and some books.

9. Doctor Who: Fun stories and interesting charecters, The Doctor and his comapins go on road trips through time, saving whoever they happen to meet. Going on for 30 years, it's great to watch.

10. Stargate: Good Movie, and two great series, the show is amazing and fun to watch.

Oh come on folks! SIX responses? I worked so hard on this thread because I thought it would be a great way to tie all of our Toon Zone interests together! You don't have to list reasons if you don't want to.;)

Doctor Who - From TV to book, to comic, to audio. I love this series. I'm listening to an audio play at the moment which is great, awaiting the next episode of the TV show at Christmas and a fan of some of the best ranges of TV tie novels I've ever read.

Babylon 5 - Love that show. Even Crusade isn't THAT bad. The books have been a mixed affair, but Peter David's run on those novels were truely excellent. Music, vision, dialogue. Love it.

Blade Runner - The film, the books, games, soundtracks.. that all spawn from DADOES? are fantastic and I adore them all.

Jeeves And Wooster. Again, not so much a franchise, but a range of media that revolves around this classic pair I never lose interest in. I enjoy the TV, stage play, books and the rare J&W soundtrack. A great concept manifested into some great drama.

Spider-Man. Loved the idea and have followed the character through changes in story and media. Same goes for..

Batman.. as above!

Battle Of The Planets/Gatchaman/G-Force etc. From a kid I loved Sandy Franks show, and after seeing a substantial amount of it's original Japanese version, Gatchaman, do actually prefer BotP. There is a sort of beauty in the simple less vicious world it creates, and some of the attempts to remold a Japanese story about Ninjas about warriors of space are quite amusing.

Captain Harlock

I really couldn't give a specific order since the priority of the list changes from time to time.

Star Wars - Good lord do I love Star Wars. Everything from the movies and to the games (both Lucasarts and fan created(muds)). I've taken the time to read alot of the SWDatabank and the Encyclopedia to know more and more about the universe. The stories from Star Wars are so different from other space Sci-fi universes in the fact that they seem so much more dark and interesting.

Calvin & Hobbes - Best comic strip ever. A highly intelligent comic that infused musings of life with hilarous comedy. Watterson is a genius. The only shame is that it had to end. But even in that aspect, the ending was so fitting for the comic.

Final Fantasy - The video game series that simply won't die. Although I've been disappointed in the later releases of the franchise, early titles like FFVI and FF Tactics still remain to be in my top 5 of video games of all time, and that cannot be forgotten.

Leiji Matsumoto and his Leijiverse - From Captain Harlock to Galaxy Express 999 and back again, I'll never tire of Leiji's creations. Even with the bumps in the road such as Harlock Saga and Cosmo Warrior Zero, he still pulls through with great titles like Captain Harlock: Endless Odyssey. The western feel of his space oriented shows is just like the feeling reminiscent in Star Wars.

Mobile Suit Gundam (anything UC) - I love the Gundam series in pretty much all the Universal Century shows. The original 0079 Mobile Suit Gundam being my favorite, the shows just have provided a realistic atmosphere of war that's dominated by death and the horrors therein.

It seems I cannot think of 10, so I'll edit the list later.

Some old, some new (but likely to stick with me a long time):

Disney. It has to be the top of this list. I have been a loyal Disneyphile practically since birth. I don't agree with many of the company's recent decisions, and I don't like everything Disney, and I've been disappointed by Disney a lot lately, but my biggest loyalty still lies with Disney. Movies, parks, and TV shows, all of them have outstanding gems. I also have obsessions within the Disney obsession -- Darkwing Duck is the big one, but also Epcot and TENG.

Buffyverse. This didn't come about until college, but I've since watched pretty much all of it. I just love these universes and their characters! I haven't gotten into the "extended universe" of books and comics, but I might someday, when I can't stand not having any new Buffy material.

The Hitchhiker's Guide Trilogy. My favorite five books. This pretty much defined my sense of humor. The movie is also okay, but mostly I mean the books here. Ford Prefect is one of my favorite fictional characters ever.

WB Silver Age Comedy Cartoons. Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Freakazoid, and, to a lesser extent, Tiny Toons. These were my favorite cartoons in middle school / high school, by far, and I still think they are some of the greatest cartoons of all time. Release these on DVD, please, WB!

Homestar Runner. This is a very recent one, but considering how much time I've put into the Homestar Runner Wiki already, I'm not likely to forget it any time soon. I've never laughed so hard at anything on the Internet in my life. I love the H*R.

Adult Swim. Take an old obsession of mine -- Space Ghost. Create some great new programs to obsess over -- Aqua Teens, Sealab, and Harvey Birdman. Acquire some great programs I had never seen before -- Futurama and Family Guy. Introduce me to some excellent anime -- Case Closed & Lupin. Now, as the final ingredient, add in one of the greatest comedy shows ever -- The Venture Bros. -- and then show me my brand new favorite anime which I am totally obsessed with -- FMA! I just love Adult Swim!

Harry Potter. Despite being somewhat disappointed by HBP, I still love the Harry Potter books. Great characters, interesting intrigue, and wonderful moments.

Pixar. I pretty much consider them separate from Disney, and I love them so much. Pixar has now made six of the greatest animated movies of all time, and I couldn't ask for anything more. I hope Cars is not their first bomb, but I will still love Pixar even if it is.

Nintendo. Ever since I got my GBA and Gamecube, I've been a total fangirl for Nintendo. I just love the cute, excellent games they make. They're one of the few companies that still does oldschool type stuff that I like. And I actually appreciate their innovation *hugs DS tightly*

I think I totally cheated by including such broad, disparate categories as "Disney" and "Adult Swim," but oh well.

1) Toonami - Big surprise, huh? Basically, I'll keep watching the block, no matter what shows are airing on it. Eventually I hope to have my own show on Toonami.

2) Gundam - This should be obvious to anyone here. Easily my favorite anime ever, with the newest installment, "Gundam SEED Destiny" kicking ass and taking names every episode. Since I don't own a PS2, I haven't played the majority of the games, and I don't collect the card game, but I do have a couple of the figures and over 40 Model Kits from every series released in the US.

3) Pokémon - My #2 favorite anime. I have over 200 of the 1" figures (haven't collected any in a while since the only place I can get them is NYC), a bunch of posters, all the movies on DVD, all of Advanced, a copy of "2.B.A. Master" and the 2nd volume of "Johto League Champions" autographed by Rika Matsumoto, and my entire Saturday afternoon viewing schedule revolves around this series.

4) Stargate - I didn't really start watching it regularly until Season 7 ended, but thanks to repeats I've watched every season except 7 (I've only seen "Heroes" and "Lost City"), and caught all the premieres of Season 8 as well as Atlantis. Plus, I do the Talkbacks for it.

5) DCAU - You know you're in love with a franchise when the newest series hits you with a gigantic bombshell (such as Luthaniac last week) and your brains almost explode.

6) G.I. Joe - My favorite 80's series. Had a bunch of toys from that era, including the awesome General, and have a couple of the toys from the re-launch. Still need to get the season sets, but I do have the OG mini-Series (with Snake Eyes figure) and both CG movies. Can't wait for Sigma Six.

7) Power Rangers - I loved the series back when it was Mighty Morphin', but started to get out of it around the end of Zeo/beginning of Turbo. I got back in it early on during DinoThunder and have since managed to re-watch all 500+ episodes. Though I've missed a bunch of SPD episodes this season...

8) NCIS - To put it bluntly: This is the only show I watch on primetime network TV anymore. And like the DCAU, the 2nd Season finale was a "WTF!?" moment.

9) Naruto - Been watching it via fansubs, and collecting the graphic novels. Plan on getting the GCN game whenever it arrives in the States, and I'll probably get a Naruto figure somewhere down the line. Dunno about a headband just yet, those things are awfully expensive...

10) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - My favorite 'toon after Joe ended. Loved watching the series, amazed by the first movie, and the new series is one of only two shows I watch on 4KidsTV anymore (the other being MewMew Power).

1. World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment. I've been a fan as long as I can remember. Even as often as they infuriate me with their stupidity and when better things came along (i.e. ECW) I've stuck by them and most likely I always will.

2. Transformers. Generation 2 was the last time I was really into TF, but G1 will always have a very high place and I do enjoy the newer incarnations on occasion. I might like them even more if frickin' CN would give them a decent timeslot. 4 am out west is not ideal for watching Energon.

3. Arizona Diamondbacks. Obviously they've only been around for 8 years, but I've been a fan since day one. I stuck it out during the abysmal 1998 and 2004 seasons and I still consider November 4, 2001 the happiest day of my life.

4. Metallica. I don't care what anybody says about their most recent efforts. Their first five albums are IMO the greatest run any band has had ever. And I'd still take their newer stuff over 98% of the garbage released these days.

5. Marvel Comics. Or, anything other than the comics anyway. For some reason I've never been all that into actual comic books, but I love everything else they put out. I can remember getting up at 5 am Sunday mornings to watch the Iron Man and Fantastic Four cartoons.

6. Final Fantasy. Played all since FFIV and I seem to be the inverse of the typical FF fan, seeing as how VIII and X-2 are my favorites.

Can't think of any others now. Might finish up later if I can.

Codename Kids Next Door - I'm in love with animation, characters and voice acting, yet the endings constantly keep disappointing me.

Late Night with Conan O'Brien - Very uplifting and funny, makes me sleep better.

WWE(ex F) - Very entertaining, with good scenarios, performers and commentating.

Country, 80's, and 30-40's music. I don't like rap anymore. Eminem was the only rapper I liked. I also like techno songs that have good parts, not just repetitive beat.

Ed Edd & Eddy - Regardles of what Noze says, it's a very good show with most unique scenarios.

Spongebob Squarepants - I like seeing Squidward getting annoyed by Spongebob.

Playing things backwards (need I say more?), not songs though, it creeps me out.

Playing PS2, NFL, GTA, Silent Hill, Worms... (I also like computer strategies).

Watching webcams of places no one cares about (cars and people passing).

News, local, national and all MSNBC primetime shows except hardball, that's when I watch the Late Night encore.

The Apprentice (when it's on), besides that I don't like reality.

Used to like JAG and Dr. Quinn.

I'm awaiting a lawsuit from Fone since this is more than ten.

TOP TEN ENTERTAINMENT FRANCHISES

10. The Matrix - I was greatly impressed by the first film. I thought it was a well thought-out, clever look into the future. The sequels however were less then adequate.

09. Star Trek - I am by no means a "trekkie", I don't go to comic book conventions dressed as a Vulcan, but I will admit that I've been a consistant viewer of several of it's televison series', most notablely Enterprise. I just think that Trek is wholehearted fun to watch even if the ideas for the shows have been used over and over again.

08. Survivor - The concept of this show is intriguing. I've always liked the survival aspect of the game more than anything else; oh yeah and the challenges aren't bad either.

07. Lethal Weapon - Pure, harmless fun. Mel and Danny share such great chemistry on screen that I still can't get enough of their wise-cracking. And who says Lethal 4 was bad?

06. The Terminator - Another group of nicely done SC-FI flicks. But honestly, I remember this series main for the effects from Judgement Day and Kristanna Loken in red leather!

05. The Simpsons - The first few seasons were awesome, but lately it's become incrediblely stale and boring. The jokes are all used up and the series has lost it's direction. Simpsons is a testement to old age rule of quit while your ahead.

04. WWE - Ahh wrestling, who cares if it's a soap opera; it's got action and plenty of it and that's what I like and that's what I expect to see.

03. Poirot - The man with the "little grey cells". Poriot has been a favorite of mine since I started reading the books as a kid. The murders were thrilling to say the least, they always left me guessing till the end. David Suchet does the little Belgian justice in the hit A&E television series.

02. Harry Potter - Well lets see here: I rave constantly about "the boy who lived", I made it my business to get everyone to make predictions on the outcome of HBP, I tell anyone who listens to me that Goblet of Fire is one of my most anticipated films of 2005, and I've decided to spice up my user profile and signituare Potter style. Yes I am a big Potter fan, aren't I?

01. Batman - I own him so much. Without Bruce, I may never have found Toonzone.

Uh...I don't know if I have ten fandoms that I gravitate towards, but there are the following:

-Anything and all things Batman
-The Simpsons
-Disney movies (the GOOD ones)
-The ol' Disney Afternoon cartoon series
-The NHL

...beyond that, it's kind of murky. I have plenty of huge loves and interests, but I don't think they're for anything is widely all-encompassing as what I mentioned here; FAMILY GUY, for example, isn't "big" enough for me to recognize as a fandom...yet.

1. Bativerse: From the comics to the various animated projects to the latest film franchise I think the character of Batman and his extended cast of villains and family (i.e. Nightwing, Oracle and Robin) has inspired me as a writer and comic book fan so much. The whole mythology of Bruce Wayne is fascinating to the point that I collect all of the Bat-titles just to not miss a thing.

2. Whedonverse: To think it all started w/ a blonde valley girl. From BtVS to Angel to Mr. Whedon's latest creation Firefly - I have been a Whedon fan for about six years and still counting. It took me sometime to warm up to the crew of Serenity however I have always been a fan of 'The Buffyverse'. As Fone Bone pointed out - no matter how much a season of BtVS (i.e. 6 & 7) and Angel (i.e. 3) didn't quite live up to it's usual quality, there's no denying in the impact that these characters and their universe made on television and pop culture alike. The Whedonverse is the only franchise that I'm not afraid to defend and/or be labeled as one of those "internet fanboys" over.

3. DCUA: From the sweetest of the 90's Fox Kids Batman:TAS (Oh it gives me goosebumps just thinking about such a thing!) to the remarkable season of Justice League Unlimited and see why it has collected such a following!

4. The Simpsons: Although it's not as good as it use to be The Simpsons is still iconic in it's own right and has given us tons a outstanding classic seasons and characters to enjoy and laught with/at. Now die already :p

5. Battlestar Galactica: I'm just in awe of the new BSG series and in biggerer (ha! I made a new word) awe with the classic series. I'm loving every nook and cranny of continuity and spaceage action/drama/thrills. I'm naming my dog Apollo.

6. X-Men: It's mostly the comics and classic cartoon for me but X-Men is still X-men and I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the first two movies. I fell in love w/ these merry mutants before I became such a Buffy fanwhore. From the trials of Professor Xavier and Magneto's feuding relationship to events like Wolverine's orgin unfolding to a many of deaths (i.e. Cyclops, Colossus, Jean Grey, Psylocke) to a many of resurrections (i.e. Cyclops, Colossus, Jean Grey, Psylocke) I love every minute of it. X-Men is one of my favorite ongoing comic book mythologies and I'm keeping it that way buster!!!!

7. Cowboy Bebop: Spike, Faye, Jet.... I love you guys and your classic noir-like touch ;)

8. Kill Bill: The Bride would make Jackie Chan piss his pants. I can't believe this isn't higher on my list. Oh well. The Kill Bill franchise has so much potential that it isn't even funny. I smell a possible animated series, two prequels, one more sequel and a kickass graphic novel all written, directed and produced by Quentin Tarentino himself.

9. Star Wars: Do I really need to explain?!?! The classic films owe my heart and love for the sci-fi genre and the prequels... well Natalie Portman is in them and me likes very very much :D

10. Pixar Animation: Pure greatness. From the Toy Story saga to the superhero homage that was The Incredibles.... Pixar has never let me down yet and I hope to will get the last laugh and make Disney regret on losing such a good partnership.

Top Ten Honorables:

1. Family Guy
2. Samurai Jack
3. Law & Order - including SVU
4. Sex and the City
5. Degrassi: The Next Generation (STFU!)
6. Witch Hunter Robin
7. Spider-Man
8. Hellboy
9. Sin City
10. Power Rangers - all incarnations

Spider-Man Been a fan since I was a wee lad watching the 2 episodes of the 60's cartoon I had on VHS. Remember watching the 90's show practically breathlessly every week, hit a low point with a few years of crappy comics and Spider-Man Unlimited, bounced back with an utterly awesome movie and enjoyable 3D animated show. Loved the sequel more, looking forward to seeing him on TV again. Someone needs to fix the comics though...

Batman/Superman See above, more or less.

Scrubs Funniest sitcom ever.

Buffy/Angel Enjoyed most of Buffy until Angel came along and showed us how to do a proper vampire TV show. Haven't cared to watch Firefly (geeks in space, ugh), still miss Angel to this day. Damn WB! On another note, if you liked Angel, the new comic is pretty cool!

X-Men Same with Batman/Spidey. Watched the cartoon, followed it to some comics, movies and yet another cartoon.

The Simpsons Hit and miss as of late, but undoubtedly the best show ever in it's prime.

Daredevil More recent than everything else, I've really been enjoying the comics, and simply adore the character. Whilst some of it is a lot better than others, when DD is good, he argaubly the best character out there. Shamelessly admit to loving both versions of the movie.

Anchorman Undoubtedly the funniest movie of all time. It's been dissed, I honestly couldn't care. I love Ron Burgundy.

1. Family Guy - Ever since Family Guy first appeared on Fox in 1999, I have been loyal to the show. Meeting Johnny Brennan also cemented it for me.
2. ECW - Sure, it may be long dead, but I'll always love EC DUB!
3. Star Wars - I started watching Star Wars when the original trilogy was re-released back in '97. Since then, I instantly became hooked.
4. They Might Be Giants - One of my all time favorite bands. I've listen to almost every single one of their songs more then 100 times each.
5. Monty Python - I've always loved Monty Python due to it's bizare humor.
6. The Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy - I became a fan of Douglas Adam's Hitch Hiker's Guide books a 3-4 years ago. I enjoyed them since they always had a Monty Python-esque humor to each and every one of them.
7. Mitch Hedberg - I listen to his comedy CDs at least 2 times a week. A true comedic genius who in my eyes will truely be missed.
8. Nintendo - It started with my classic "Brick" Game Boy back in 1994, and it's still going strong with me!
9. The Simpsons - One of my favorite animation series ever. It's what lead me into loving animation.
10. Conan O'Brien - He's one of my favorite talk-show hosts out there. 'Nuff said.
