Its recently during this summer that I started watching reruns of this and I think I finally got what all the hype surounding the series is about. I was never a fan of the show before but now...I've warmed up a lot to its cheesy idea of comedy. Especially worth mentioning are D.J and Stephanie! They are so cute and adorable in the first few episodes! Michelle...meh...never liked the Olsen Twins so...
Does anyone else watch/used to watch the show?

It's still alright, I guess, but being replayed on several different channels several times a day since it entered syndication/cable airings has pretty much beaten the already dead horse.
On a sidenote, I have NEVER watched the second half of the final episode. In my mind, the end to part 1 of the final episode IS the end of the show.

but how do you know that if you've never seen part 2?

I still enjoy this show. I love saying, "Well, pin a rose on your nose" to people:p It annoys them, but I think it's funny. When I was younger I'd watch the episodes from say Stephanie's point of view, but now that I'm older, I take things more from DJ's point of view. Kinda interesting.

I watched the first half, and only read about what happened in part 2, and chose to just leave it at the end of the first half, just to give it that 'cliffhanger' feeling, like what they did with ALF until that t.v. movie in the late nineties.

I always thought Roseanne was the best late 80's early 90's sitcom. Very realistic.. until they won the lottery.

The best show of the 80s 90s was the Degrassi series.
I guess i liked full house when i was little, but now :/ there is just not much to it.
This is turning out to be a "best show of.." thread though. But i'd really like to comment on Degrassi ;O

Clean family comedy. Nothing too overly "I can't let my kids watch this!!" type show.
I enjoyed it. It had a long good run. Yeah, I sometimes miss the old TGIF (ABC tried to bring TGIF back but failed). You know, you have a long, hard week at school (I was at school for its complete run) and you're waiting for Friday to come around. A two-hour block on ABC on Friday nights was pretty much well worth the wait, espcially when you have a favourite show. Same with Saturday morning cartoons!! :D I forget that FOX has their FOX BOX. I always say that I'll get up early in the morning or get a tape ready but I don't. :crying:
*sighs* I sometimes miss being a kid.

I've always loved Full House. I can't stand Stephanie, though.

Can't stand Stephanie? I always thought the Michelles were abysmal. :p
Funny you should bring up this thread today, Phantasm. All week, my co-workers and I have been serenading each other with that sappy "Forever" song that John Stamos sung with the Beach Boys in a later season of the show.
"If every word I said...could make you laugh...I'd talk forever...and ever, and ever..."

I loved FH when I was younger too. Things I remember watching:
1. Michelle pinning a rose onto a go-kart, and winning the race by a rose
2. Stephanie steals sweater, claiming "Buy Now Pay Later" as her excuse
3. Some gift car turns out to be stolen, while Bob Saget keeps playing "Beep beep, beep beep, the car horn goes beep beep" on his guitar
4. Some band plays "B-I-N-G-O" at a night club
5. Jesse yells "Mitsubishi, Toyota, Karate Kid 2, 'Domo' Very Much" at a Japanese concert
6. DJ takes her SATs using an old fashioned paper calculator, and Vanna White sends her to Clown U
7. Nebraska kid charms Steph, and after he leaves, Dave "Out of Control" Coulier decides to do some "Fisher Price Video Dating"... meanwhile, Bob Saget has flashbacks
8. Bob Saget dates Spanish teacher who gave DJ C in Spanish... meanwhile some guy claims he got an A because he watched La Bamba 3 times, and Dave Coulier impersonates Kermit the Frog (out of derision, Saget calls him Berlitz)
My inside pun senses are tingling:

The final ep(s) deals with Michelle falling off a horse, doesn't it? She'd just pulled out of a horse showriding competition to cut off the rivalry between Bob Saget and some competitor's mom, from what I hear...

No offense but you obviously dont remember that well
2. Stephanie stole the sweater on accident, she took Buy Now and Pay Later as literal
3. Joey bought DJ a car as a gift and it was late reavealed to be a previously stolen car
4. Jesse's band bailed on him so the rest of the family including Kimmy steped in and it bombed
5. Jesse's translator droped the cue cards so he had to improvise, very funny
7. It was Becky's nephew and it was Michelle he charmed

This show is still entertaining to me. I've never watched it when it first came out. Well how could I? I was around 3-4 years old. But the show just gives me some good laughs some times. Up to now, I still watch it whenever its showing on Nick.

Never cared it. Too sacharine, too hokey. And I think Bob Saget is lame. Do families like that even exist?
Now "Titus", that's a far more accurate portrayal of family at least as I've grown up. My father has always been mean spirited and evil, though my mom isn't in a mental institution.

Okay, honest mistakes. And yes, I remember that the translator dropped the cue cards thank you very much... just as well as DJ's SATs experience was just a nightmare ("Stupid violation! Duh!" Steph says about DJ's name being invalid for her SATs).
Here's another memory: Jesse spraypaints his hair during an infomercial :D to sell something you cover your face with while hairspraying. Meanwhile, lots of really dodgy sound effects because Becky's twins kept switching the labels.
And another: Becky recovers a document Jesse was working on before the twins turned off the laptop. (Hey, wasn't there an ep of Fresh Prince where Will Smith makes fun of Carlton Banks after someone unplugged his laptop and lost Banks' work?)
And another: from the same ep as the sweater stealing, guy gives DJ $10 and says "It's all I've got". Except that it's not, since after DJ thanks him, he gives her $10 more :D And then there's the bit where Steph runs to her usual piggy bank hiding place, gets her piggy, and runs back to another drawer and slams it just to misdirect DJ :D
Yep, one more: Michelle says "Daddy", and it appears that it went unheard. Then Bob Saget comes in praising her for that :D "Lisa's First Word" it ain't.
ETA: The memories keep on coming!
* There was this one ep where an agent tells Jesse he could be as big as Elvis... was this the same storyline as the Japan concert?
* Someone's birthday's forgotten, DJ I think, so the others improvise a party for her with mashed potatoes, popsicle sticks, and Halloween decor. DJ's first mad at them for forgetting her birthday, but decides to forgive Steph on the porch before going in for some more potatoes.
* And speaking of birthdays, DJ wonders why they're going to school on Jesse's birthday (was that the same ep with the Bingo playing band?), Jesse snarks that there might be some sort of service at school.
* Three words: Walt Disney World. The funny thing is, when this ep was being promoted over here, the promo announcer mentioned Disneyland, right before a clip of Jesse saying Walt Disney World ;)

I remember Full House as "the Seinfeld of elementary school". It was the show all the girls talked about around the water fountain (well, Full House and Blossom) and, if you didn't watch it, you might as well have been a leper!
I'm so glad those days are behind me now! :p

I remember this episode vividly and it was Kimmy's birthday that DJ has forgotten.

I watched Full House back when I was young and stupid (I couldn't make out most of the words to the theme song, and I thought Michelle was just one actress, I remember thinking "That girl has a long name!"). It was a fun show, though. Loved Joey and that woodchuck thing he had. Plus it had Scott Weigner, who did the voice for Aladdin.
DJ's SATs experience was just a nightmare ("Stupid violation! Duh!" Steph says about DJ's name being invalid for her SATs).
Didn't DJ expect points on her SATs for putting her name (in the dream) and didn't get any because they said initials didn't count? I always thought "DJ" stood for "Danny Junior". Man, I was dumb.
I can't watch the show now, the music cues are too dramatic and the fashion of the 90's makes me groan (like when I see an old episode of Saved By The Bell), but I remember one episode where Joey went for a job interview or something and they made a cake that said "CONGRATS Joey" and if it turned out he didn't get it, they'd alter it so it said "RATS Joey". And wasn't there a future episode were Kimmy was hot or something?

And wasn't there a future episode were Kimmy was hot or something?
That was a dream/speculation sequence. The girls had the guys running around all day, making them drop whatever they were doing, taking them to mall, skating rink, etc, etc. To teach them a lesson about saying thank you and showing appreciation, the guys put them in charge and take over as children. Only problem was the girls just grounded them (duh!) for being unappreciative. The guys speculate what life will be like in the future, since the girls aren't learning the lesson at all.
The guys are still doing the duties. The girls don't act particularly grown up. Big Michelle is even wearing giant baby clothes. And future Kimmy comes over to tempt the aged men with her bod.
The girls come down and confront the guys, since they're supposed to be in their rooms. The guys confront the girls and they FINALLY get the hint. They say thanks and status quo restored.
At least, I think that's the one you're talking about.
