I'd have to go with...... Ron Burgundy.

Some of my earliest memories involve ABC and Jennings.

Jennings, even though he's crazy. Watching Worlds News Tonight just makes me feel all comfortable. I don't actually pay attention. I think it's just Jennings' voice. It's hypnotizing.
I wish I had been around when Cronkite was on the air. I think I would have liked him, as it was the law back then. Unless you were crazy.

With Brokaw gone, I guess Jennings. But where's Jon Stewart?

Sadly, most of the news anchors today have about as much credibility as Ron Burgundy, and only half the charisma. I can't watch network news anymore; I get most of my news from newspapers, and I'm skeptical of them some of the time, too. Everything is so agenda-driven these days, that news anchors aren't above flat-out lying to try to make people think the way they want. The last nail in the coffin was Dan Rather's 60 Minutes scam, trying to pass off a Microsoft Word document as a memo written in the early '70's, and his mealy-mouthed defense when he got caught red-handed ("The evidence may all be false, but the story is true.")

I voted for Tom Brokaw. In addition to being a South Dakota native like myself, he just seemed to bring a certain credibility and respect to his newscasts. I like Brian Williams, but if you're giving me the chance to pick between the two of them, I go for Brokaw. I don't mind the CBS anchors either, but NBC News is where I go.

While I've only seen him in old anniversary-type footage and specials, I voted for Walter Cronkite. He seemed different enough from current anchors... and his newscasts presumably didn't have fluff stuff like "what consumer product may or may not kill you" segments.
Out of the current/recent anchors, probably Peter Jennings.
Re: liking Cronkite being the law: my mother tells me she never liked Cronkite when he was on; she preferred Huntley-Brinkley (the legendary NBC news anchor team of the 60's).

Tom Brokaw, he covered 9/11 most professionally, and was my favorite. And he was the most honest at conventions.

I don't know if he counts or not but I would have to go with John Stewart. Though the Daily Show is comedy based, it still is able to cover the news, show people and situations as they really are, ask the right questions, show how stupid people are and so on and they do it all while making us laugh.

I'm also here to say Jon Stewart. He just rocks...
