The DiC ones, or the H-B ones?

any thoughts or replies here, anyone?
Don't bump your own thread. If people want to discuss, they will.
I vote DIC.
I am not sure if i ever saw the HB version, or if i did it would have been just a few episodes.
I'd really like DVDs of either though.

Why is that the DIC eps of CP are RARELY if ever shown on Cartoon Network/Boomerang? Its almost always the H-B episodes being shown. Does DIC have a stranglehold on those episodes? Last time i saw DIC episodes was when they were on Kids on Demand a couple months ago.

Boomerang has been thus far airing the eps in order in which it aired (like the network does for all of its shows now airing here); they are now up to the H-B eps, so be patience...

DiC. They had the better opening theme.
Speaking of, some lucky viewers may be able to catch the DiC version on "The Wonderful World of DiC" block on the weekends. I was flipping channels yesterday morning and was caught by surprise by the CP opening.

The DiC ones, or the H-B ones?
They're both great (I love them both) but I would have to say that the DiC ones were probably best since Whoopi Goldberg did an incredible job voicing Gaia. I also LeVar Burton did an awesome job voicing Kwame on both versions. He probably made big bucks when the series had began since he was also hosting Reading Rainbow and playing Forge on Star Trek: The Next Generation. And according to IMDB.com, it said he received $100,000 an episode for TNG.

They're still airing The New Adventures Of Captain Planet. Yet Boomerang has only shown the first two seasons over again and let me say that for the entire month of November, they will be repeating them again. When will they ever go to the final season with the new opening sequence (also known as The Eco-Rap) performed by Fred Schneider, lead singer of The B-52s.

I think the Hanna-Barbera episodes are much better

I just wish that Boomerang will show the third season H-B episodes and then start all over with the DiC episodes because over the past few months they have been airing nothing but non-stop first/second season H-B episodes...

DIC/Tribune added Capt. Planet to their lineup over the summer. It caught me by surprise, too, since I'm a Sherlock Holmes fan, but at the time, the Fox affilitate here moved Sherlock to weekdays, bumping Smurfs. Sherlock's since been bumped to make room for Trollz. Has anyone seen Trollz?
Back to Capt. Planet. I voted for the DIC series simply because the original theme song ruled. The casting was top-shelf as well.
When Capt. Planet moved to HB in 1993, the biggest change came first in the casting. Whoopi Goldberg, who was wonderful as Gaia, was replaced by Margot (Lois Lane) Kidder. To add injury to that insult, they added a new theme song by Fred Schneider (B-52's) that was white-boy rap at its worst.
One question that went unanswered when the series ended: Did Wheeler ever get a date with Linka?

The H-B episodes look better (cleaner animation) but suffer from a crummy theme song and some questionable voice cast changes.
Now I've haven't seen the DIC years of Captain Planet in 13 years. Is there any plan on a dvd release?

I thought that the new theme song wasn't until the final season?

H-B. Because the animation was better and the picture was clearer, compared to DiC. Story-wise I don't remember.
Woah wait, there was a third season? =O
