Okay, I just checked the schedule for July 6 of Boomerang, and on the Pink Panther, a Blue Racer cartoon "Aches and Snakes" will air.

In case you don't know, Blue Racer is a weird cartoon from DePatie-Freleng about the misadventures of a blue snake. It's kinda like "Ant and the Aardvark", without the punny dialogues. But the series kinda changed in 1973 when Freleng got rid of Japanese Beetle.

I already have this cartoon, with a large time code on the top right corner of the screen, but I'm glad the series is being aired. It's not too bad, IMO. Better than "Hoot Kloot" or "Dogfather"

That's great news! Maybe they'll show some of the other old DFE cartoons I've wanted to see.

Well, according to the press release, Boomerang is only airing "Pink Panther", "The Ant and the Aardvark", "The Blue Racer", "The Inspector", and "Crazylegs Crane".

I am happy, though. I can replace some of the Blue Racers I have, where they either have bad picture quality or has a timer. Including the five shorts I'm missing in my collection. Also, I am this close into having every single DFE theatricals, although I still need one "Tijuana Toads" in English.

Hopefully they'll show "Wham and Eggs" sooner or later,I really want to see that one.:D

I have "Wham", but the credits is missing and it's in German. Hopefully, someone will tape it when it airs.

It's interesting to note that "Wham and Eggs" is the last theatrical cartoon directed by Arthur Davis.

I plan to record as many of these off Boomerang as I can, as long as the VCR timer works. I love 'Pink Panther' and 'Ant and the Aardvark,' and I'm interested in seeing 'Blue Racer' and 'Crazylegs' as well.

Oh okay.

So, anyone recorded "Aches"? What did you think?

Well, I should have allowed for more time, my VCR cut off the last minute of the last Pink Panther cartoon, but I did get to take a look at "Aches." Strange cartoon, but I enjoyed it and I liked that kind of daring gag at the end. Of course, those can't be the real names of the animators in the opening credits!

The end is even more daring if you remember the fact that the cartoon was made in 1973.

Some of the names are fake because "Aches and Snakes" was NOT made at DePatie-Freleng. Some Australian studio called Film Graphics made it, and DFE released it as their own.

Other Blue Racer cartoon called "Little Boa Peep", which was made in Halas and Batchelor in UK also had a fake name. Click here to see it (http://dfe.goldenagecartoons.com/images/title-cards/1974/littleboapeep-fakenames.jpg).

Weird thing is, four "Hoot Kloot" cartoons make in UK listed real names.

Anyway, I don't have Boomerang, but I do have a copy of this short with time codes (I'm hoping to find the short without it) and I kinda liked it.

It was pretty bizaree, with very weird drawings, but it was good.

One thing, however, that bothers me is that Blue Racer's design keeps changing. Make up your mind!!!

But this is pretty good for a subcontracted cartoon. This was better than "Little Boa Peep", which was pretty boring, although the ending was okay for a last cartoon in the series.
