"Heathcliff & The Cadillac Cats"
Produced by DIC Entertainment, 1984

Need to catch up on who Heathcliff is? Check out this page (http://returnheathcliff.tripod.com/thereturnheathcliffcampaign/id3.html) on his history. Interesting to know that the 80's version of Heathcliff was actually the orange cat's third animated series.

Just a quick reminder that we'll be doing weekly "cartoon of the week" threads that highlight a classic cartoon series, theaterical cartoon, or character. Please feel free to add your thoughts in as we walk down memory lane together. Since we're a little behind, I'll leave this talkback up an extra week for your enjoyment!

For those of you interested, Heathcliff has been slowly released on DVD (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00019GHRK/qid=1119583559/sr=8-2/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i2_xgl74/102-2053049-9716925?v=glance&s=dvd&n=507846), with several volumes now avaliable.

"Cadillac Cats" became "Cats & Company" when the show hit the airwaves.

I happen to have bought all 3 Heathcliff DVDs that have been put out by DiC and UAV, and I think they are all right. I also might consider getting that Heathcliff boxset that is gonna come out soon.

Oh, its "Catillac Cats".

"Cadillac Cats" became "Cats & Company" when the show hit the airwaves. That's because DiC were afraid at first at usinf the name "Cadillac" and thought they'd get caught in legal issues with the Cadillac car company, so they used the title "Cats & Company" as the on-air title.

Oh, its "Catillac Cats".Actually "Cadillac Cats" was in fact, the original spelling, but was changed to "Catillac Cats" when the show was released on video in the late 80s. Again, probably to avoid legal issues with the Cadillac company, even though the word "Cadillac" (in reference to the car in the cartoon) was spoken at various times in the show.
