I heard some info that it was created by one of the producers of Spongebob Squarepants and the pilot was going to be aired either later this year or early next year. What is the premise of the show and is it a comedy or action show?

This is all I could find:

"Prehistoric life as told through the eyes of a barbarian"

I hope it's action cause we don't need another full out comedy show with Barbarian in the title.

I heard the show is going to be an action comedy, kind of like a mix between The Venture Brothers ans Samurai Jack, but with a different plot. I also heard it's being made by some of the talent from Samuria Jack, possibly Genndy Tartakovsky. It should be awesome and probably the best new show of 2006.

It's not possibly, Genndy is the lead talent on the Kolgoth/Korgoth/whatever. It's probably gonna be more action centric than it was intially billed too, as the storyboard for it was huge, suggesting incredibly intense, fast and furious action. It also suggests that storyboard was for an opening 75 minute movie a la Samurai Jack. Realistically speaking, it may end up as Adult Swim Action's first American original.

Tartakovsky better not be biting off more than he can chew. I thought he was gonna be doing more clone wars and according to imdb he's doing Astro Boy http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0375568/ which I'd imagine is a huge deal. Also what about Jack? That show was great and some kind of closure not necessarily on the Aku thing but just for the philosophy of the show would be nice. Oh well productivity in creative people is always pretty cool.

Where did you see the storyboard for it?

Genndy's not doing anymore Clone Wars. Lucasfilm decided to go to another team.
B.) He's still signed for Astro Boy but we've heard nothing about that project. It's assumed to be sitting on the backburner for now.
C.) Samurai Jack is cancelled.

Where did you see the storyboard for it?
Here.

I heard the show is going to be an action comedy, kind of like a mix between The Venture Brothers ans Samurai Jack, but with a different plot. I'm not sure what to thinkof that. Samurai Jack, unique and (to me at the time) cutting edge animation, with well thought out and inventive stories, and Venture Bros., primative animation and crude vulgarity in place of writing talent. (though not the worst I've seen CN pass as comedy) How can anyone combine these into an idea?
I heard some info that it was created by one of the producers of Spongebob Squarepants That doesn't fill me with optimism either

Eh? Where on earth is there that much "vulgarity" in Venture Brothers? 99% of it is sophisticated, character-driven humor, and the animation is terrific...technically not as much motion as Futurama or Family Guy, but you can barely tell.

And why do people even bother to mention when shows share a producer? The job of a producer has NOTHING to do with writing, storyline, or anything else involving the content of a show or movie.

Spongebob has to be one of the most creative & original ideas to come recently. It also is a lot more intelligent than people give it credit for. You have to have some creativity to come up with a talking sponge & make it into one of America's biggest pop culture icons.

Another person who doesn't like Venture Brothers! Now our Venture Brothers dislike club has 5 members! We may be small in numbers now, but eventually we shall rise as an army!

He probably means the sex, bodily fluids, and violence. Remember when Brock Sampson beat up a guy with his anus? Yeah, Venture Brothers has a lot of character driven humor, but when the characters are all incredibly unlikeable character driven humor runs out of gas pretty easily. Like many people, Kagetsu probably confused animation with drawing style. I have to say the character designs in Venture Brothers are pretty ugly. But, I guess they're supposed to look kind of ugly. And I really don't see anything sophisticated about Venture Brothers. Hmmm...I'm picturing the host of Masterpiece Theatre introducing an episode of Venture Brothers...

Oh, and to make sure this doesn't get too off topic, Korgath show sounds like a nice addition to the action block. I know a lot of comedy fans don't think the anime mixes well with the comedy. Well, an American animated show could bridge the gap quite nicely.

The promise of Genndy and hallways full of action-filled storyboards have me really excited about this show. It also sounds like a really unique and original addition to the block, which will be nice.A.) Genndy's not doing anymore Clone Wars. Lucasfilm decided to go to another team.Off topic, but why was this? Wasn't their Clone Wars series considered a smashing success by all? Did they find someone to do it cheaper?

The sex/toiler humor in VB isn't at all as frequent per episode as FG or South Park, and Violence doesn't count as vulgarity.

Violence teaches children important life lessons, like how there's violence.

I'm sure I'll alienate a lot of people by saying this, but Genndy's sense of humor is awful, and always has been. Sure, we haven't exactly seen what he can do for an older audience, but I can't see "maturity" making his antiquated brand of comedy any better.

Dexter's Lab under his tutelage was superb, thankyouverymuch.

I agree. Seasons 1 and 2 were the best of Dexter. One question: Is the pilot going to be traditionally animated or will it be done in Flash?

According to Nick and Kim back at Dragon Con last year, traditionally.

Ooo, that makes me tingly.

DEAR ADULT SWIM:

LESS 12 OZ MOUSE ANIMATION N MORE KORGATH ANIMATION PLZ

According to Nick and Kim back at Dragon Con last year, traditionally. That sounds like a plus. Flash is ok, and traditional can be bad, but only traditional (and really good CGI) can be good.

This will either be the first major American action hit on Adult Swim, or a complete disaster. I don't see a middle ground for something with that many resources being dedicated towards it.

Off topic, but why was this? Wasn't their Clone Wars series considered a smashing success by all? Did they find someone to do it cheaper?I'm guessing because it'll be CGI. Something for LucasFilm's quasi-new Animation department that has done zip yet maybe?

I'm guessing Peter Chung used his witchcraft on Lucas like he's done with MTV and the Wachowski Brothers. What a horrible thought...

Seriously...I shudder when I even attempt to imagine what Chung would do with Star Wars characters...in CGI none-the-less. The last thing I want to see is an anorexic CGI model of Chewbacca that sports a metal (and disturbingly well endowed) thong.

If anything, I betcha Lucasfilm got a hold of the Square CGI technology to perfectly render Mark Hamil's face.
