It's official.

August 18th, the real Puffy AmiYumi, inspirations of CN's mega hit toon Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi will start a nine-day tour of the Eastern USA, starting in New York City.

More details can be found at http://www.puffyamiyumi.com. BTW, I'll likely be going to the August 20th show in Philly.

The cirrcus will hit town it seems. Good thing they not coming to Atlanta, cause then my lil sister would be temped to go, and like she always does. Just like the time i went to the dora the explorer thing before, she has to drag me or else she can't go and starts crying whining, etc

I've never understood why people go to pop concerts -_-

I've never understood why people go to pop concerts -_-I understand they play rock & roll. I'd probably go if it was a band from say, CKND or Megas, but I don't like HHPAY so I won't.

Seems tempting, but I don't think anyone from my family would be willing to go. Also, I don't know if my friends like Puffy (their original name, I beleive). And I'm scared to be in a real mosh pit.

 I should've watched their concert on TV during New Year's.

They had a full house in Los Angeles at the Wiltern theatre. Will be in NY for the East Coat tour. The band is fantastic and the ladies put on a great show. The real life Kaz is a gas too.

I understand they play rock & roll. It's J-pop with rock-ish background music. I really wouldn't call it "rock & roll". (although HHPAY seems to think it is) Heck, most of their music doesn't even have the rock-ish background music.

EDIT: looking at the site, it isn't coming to my area. (But, there is a music video of Puffy's "joining a fanclub" remix on that site. I wonder if Puffy even know that the song is about how stupid religion is?)

The real-life Kaz was there? Cool.

I'd love to go to the D.C. one, but Otakon will slurp up any money I have...

Don't quite know how they'd play out here in "Borscht Belt Country," if they ever got a booking up here. I can almost hear cries of "You (are we allowed to say the "s" word that rhymes with duck here?)" a mile away.

And their kind of music is played on the Music Choice Radio Disney channel, not stations like WPDH, K-104, or KISS 97, or whatever radio station out my way plays "rap."

Irving Theater, NYC? The DJs will have a field day with them, joke-wise. (Especially that Stern fellow and that lady who should have been fired for playing the "Tsunami Song" on her station!)

There's a real Kaz? I thought he was invented for the cartoon!

There's a real Kaz? I thought he was invented for the cartoon! That seems too picture perfect to me. Either their old manager changed his name, or they got a new manager who's name is Kaz just for the sake of the gimmick. After all, most of their popularity relies on the cartoon. If they don't stay faithful to it, it could backfire.

gimmick
That word pretty much sums up my opinion of the whole thing. As I've said before, there are many other bands in the same genre from Japan who are hundreds of times more talented than them.

I believe Kaz is just his nickname.

Well, when they show the credits at the end (one of the last credits) show a "Kaz Harada."

NozeNuggets

And Harada-san's not like the Kaz in the animated series. That Kaz is there for comic relief.

Theres a lot more bands that are talented then the Rolling Stones but so what. Not too many have that kind of track record. Give respect where its due. Puffy has been around for a long time as a succesful band in Japan.

Kaz san is a great guy. Very quiet and gentle. He likes to use the phrase "So Nice" which the cartoon Kaz uses. He is married to a beautiful woman and has a cute kid. Youre watching a cartoon. Gimmicks and fantasy abound. Beast Boy is a gimmick. Superman's weakness to kryptonite is a gimmick. Get off the negativity for negativity sake.

First of all, worst videoclip i ever saw in my life. All they did was spit/throw stuff at each others. I don't think they can even order breakfast in english. The animated ones should never be made out of talentless screaming monkeys.

"The animated ones should never be made out of talentless screaming monkeys." Good gravy. You've just insulted talentless screaming monkeys EVERYWHERE!

*UPDATE* Just bought a ticket for their show 8/20 in Philly. I'm going.
