For some reason when I was writing out the thread title I accidently wrote Ghost in the Shell first.

How did that monk see the sacred jewel?

And wasn't Kirara exposed to the toxin as well?

Shippo will guard them...

sigh.

Is it me or is blood starting to flow out more in these latest episodes? It seems the early episodes, blood was flowing like wine, but as we started to progress, the violence was toned down.

I'm sorry but that episode sucked so much. And I'm a fan..

*EDIT*
And the next one looks like it will too...

aww Kilala in the hotspring was so cute :anime: Ginkotsu made a cool villian with his weapons and all but he is already gone :( another evil cliffhanger attached to a pretty good episode

Its been so long since I read this part of the manga, but its all starting to come back to me now. Exciting times ahead, for sure. Some of the better parts of Inuyasha for sure.

And wasn't Kirara exposed to the toxin as well? Kirara is a demon cat and, thus, is immune to the poison.

Leave it up to Shippo to screw things up..... well, technically, it was Kilala's fault, but..... um..... let's blame Shippo anyway! I thought the bad guy here was pretty neat with his assortment of weapons, it was definitely a nice change of pace from all the sword-carrying and magic villians. Nice how the battle here was a bit more varied because of that.

I give Ghastly Steel Machine a B-.

Man... Why am I still watching this show?

At least it's a little less worn out than Megas XLR.

Because countless posters had said that this is the best Inuyasha arc ever.

...I'm still waiting...

I've asked this question before (In fact, 2 weeks ago, I believe), but I'll ask it again.

Why didn't IY just Wind Scar the bad guy's ass as soon as he showed up? (Instead of just WSing the blades)

And it seems InuYasha forgot that he could use his Blades of Blood and Iron Reaver Soul Stealer attacks...

Didn't Inuyasha mention in the previous episode that something was preventing him from using the Wind Scar?

Didn't Inuyasha mention in the previous episode that something was preventing him from using the Wind Scar?InuYasha used the Wind Scar at the beginning of the battle to deflect the sawblades from Shippo and Kirara.

BTW, how can Genkotsu exist? Feudal Japan wasn't exactly a technological powerhouse until the Europeans came, which was just recently going by their times (since guns are just starting to be used), so how did they make a cyborg?

its magic!

Past episodes showed that normal human soldiers had guns when they fired at Jakotsu. So I suppose that Europeans did came at that time. Otherwise, I bet that they're in another universe. Or the creator lost her marbles.

never mind the 'cyborg', i'm so like, intrigued by that 'dude in a kimono'.. as to what those 'seven' were meant to be.

and maybe it is, like magic!!

as for like, poor kagome.. maybe by next week she'll like, walk it off!

3 down, 4 to go....

1st one Killed by Kouga
2nd one killed by Seshomaru
3rd one killed by Inuyasha

Now the question...who will kill the rest? My bet's on Kikyo coming and saving Inuyasha's ass against this guy whose trapped Kagome and the others. Inuyasha is definetly going to kill the Gay Guy, I can just see that one coming. As for the other 2...maybe Miroku and Sango can be helpful for once?

One of the more darker episodes in a while.

It was alright, Genkotsu is a pretty cool enemy on the whole (technology inconsistencies aside). I just didn't like how Kilala and Shippo had to keep running around all episode with 2 or 3 unconcious bodies...

8/10

Why does everyone think Inu-yasha killed the cyborg guy in this episode? You saw him in the preview for the next episode. Buried ≠ Dead

Something that I don't think has been mentioned the past few weeks... the old man and his student. Is them walking into the one of Band of Seven a running gag now? Do they even have names?

Eh... Myouga was dreaming of the gang being at hot springs so fans could see Inuyasha and Miroku / Kagome and Sango in the buff. Cheap fanservice.

Oh, and who didn't see Shippo and Kilala flying to Renkotsu's temple coming?

7.5 out of 10 for "The Ghastly Steel Machine."

The old man and his student have been around in some shape of form since like episode 40 or so... Even if the old man and student changes.. there's alot of them that appear and say something about how they're not in danger and then get attacked.

Did anyone notice the end credits had a cast list for the Band of Seven, I want to know who their voices are. Wonder why the blood flow was visible on Inuyasha red clothing, providing that most flow on this show is a darker color while the movie opts for red blood like most early animes?

Renkotsu - Brian Drummond
Bankotsu - Matt Hill
Jakotsu - Jenn Forgie
Ginkotsu, Kyokotsu - Mark Gibbon
Mukotsu - Trevor Duvall
Suikotsu - Michael Donovan

Kind of late for a couple of these guys to be getting credits.

I missed the dub last night, did Ginkotsu keep his little "Geesh Geesh Geesh" catch-phrase?

BTW, how can Genkotsu exist? Feudal Japan wasn't exactly a technological powerhouse until the Europeans came, which was just recently going by their times (since guns are just starting to be used), so how did they make a cyborg?
That is one of the reasons why Ginkotsu is my least favorite out of the Shichinintai (Band of Seven). There is no way that there was the technology for that in the 1500's. His second form is even less believable. He becomes a tank

Inuyasha doesn't kill ANY of them, technically.

The next one the machine of the band of 7 is not dead yet but badly damaged and I betcha he will die next episode and that would be three of them dead.

well he was missing an arm, so i guess Inuyasha did do something to him

And i guess the "good parts" will come once the battle with their leader starts

but to me this is good, compared to the last bundle of episodes, not even an "arc", but a bunch of dum filler episodes (the last real good part was the Panther tribe battle leading up to Naraku's disappearance). Then after that was about 20 filler episodes. This arc is about 22 episodes and leads into the final season

I must have missed something...which one did Kouga kill?

And if someone could, (since i am an idiot) could you list all of the names and say what they do and stuff, from what it looks like the hardest will be the guy with the big sword thingy...yeah

I must have missed something...which one did Kouga kill?Remember that giant warrior that Kouga fought and killed a few episodes back, that was a member of the band of seven. :)

Ginkotsu is a disturbing anomaly among the Band of Seven, as a technological creature rather than magical. (When Ginkotsu vented steam, he reminded me of Heat Guy J.) Even though guns existed, they didn't have shells that split into submunitions. Or steam-powered cyborgs. I had a bit of a problem with Ginkotsu in the manga, too, for introducing technology into a magic-based story without some attempt at explanation.

But that's in our historical Japan. This isn't our history, folks. Remember, this is a Feudal Fairy Tale and magic can even create a cyborg. And in this tale, Ginkotsu has given our gang fits and his story isn't over yet. A good episode in an outstanding story arc. (^_*)

As for the list, in order of appearance:

Kyoukotsu: Big guy who eats stuff.
Jakotsu: Girly and gay, wields a flexible sword, Jakotsu-tou.
Mukotsu: Ugly short guy who uses poison smoke.
Renkotsu: Bald guy with a do-rag, is a pyro and mechanic.
Ginkotsu: The kinda cyborg-ish guy.
Suikotsu: A Jekyll/Hyde doctor guy with claws.
Bankotsu: The braided leader who wields the horse-header-cutter-offer, Banryuu.

If I recall correctly, next week's episode is the one where the whole "captioning" thing started in the TV run. I've heard from Toshi that the copies of the episodes that Viz received did not have the captioning, so I'm guessing this means we'll be spared being reminded of who every single character is every single episode.

His second form is even less believable. He becomes a tankGuys, you are complaining about the unbelieviablity of a cyborg in a fantasy series where the main character wields sword with the distructive power of a tac-nuke and one of the side-characters has a blackhole in his right hand.

There are more important things to complain about.

By the way, I love a touch technology in a fantasy series.

And I found this episode to be pretty good.
