My girlfriend and I were just discussing the fact that we do not have "a song." (We have been together almost a year and a half.) Just curious, to the couples out there, do you have a song, what is it, and how/why did that become your song?

Not really. I think it's kind of corny personally. My girlfriend insists that our song is a tune by Sade. The title escapes me at the moment though.

I never found the significance of the song for us to have. I don't need a song to remind me of my girl. I remember her no matter what.

Well, for me, I wish me and my song had a significant other.

Hmmmmm. I don't have a girlfriend. I used to have a girlfriend with Asperger's back in elementary school. She and I loved animals, furries and Spyro The Dragon together. Too bad. We should have kept in contact. So this means,I don't really have a song.............

Nine Inch Nails - Head Like a Hole And here I was thinking of Guns & Roses - Used to Love Her

:goes off singing those beautiful and sensitive lyrics: ... six feet under... and I can still hear her complain...

This is a pretty sad topic, as probably 80% or more of TZ is single. =/ And here I was thinking of Guns & Roses - Used to Love HerAs much as I dislike GnR, I love that song. Go figure.

On a less self-deprecating note, I remember dancing at the 6th grade dance in elementary school (god, imagine how awkward that'd be). One of the songs about flying from Space Jam was playing, but I can never remember WHICH.

Probably "I Believe I Can Fly" as performed by R.Kelly...

...R.Kelly song, Knux, 6th Graders... comedy. ;)

Meanwhile, the significant others that I've had in past never had a particular song.

Well, you spelled it correctly, but I got the jab in at Knux. :D

I'm sinlgle, and I still found a song... I never said you were normal....

To stay on topic (You mods should know bet-- oh wait, it's Knux and Karl), I'll talk about one of my sisters' song. Her and her now ex's song was Wish You Were Here (by Pink Floyd of course!). I always thought that was soooo awesome.

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have you found? The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

I find the whole idea of "our song" to be just a little silly and forced. I mean if you have a magical moment to music and you and your special person both decide that this song will go down as a symbol of your love, more power to you. I just don't see that ever happening in any relationship I could possibly have.

But seriously why narrow it down to one song, if you have I-tunes and a blank CD you could make yourself a Realtionship Soundtrack.

This is a pretty sad topic, as probably 80% or more of TZ is single. =/Shhh, if we're not careful the thread could easily turn into a pool of self deprecation and woe. Because as we know (The Subject of Relationships)+(A Web Forum)= :(

I really don't have a significant other....so no...but if I did, I would hope it to be "Simple and Clean"/"Hikari" by Utada Hikaru. Unless...the guy isn't into video games and animation.

My boyfriend and I have two songs.

The first one is The Best Is Yet to Come- Frank Sinatra. It was about a month into are relationship and we were already madly in love (We have been dating and living together for well over a year and a half now and and we are even MORE in love now than we were then of course :)) and we were talking about how we did not have a personal song for each other, but also that we really didn't even care about that sort of thing. Then this started playing on the radio and we both just stopped and listened to it for awhile. When the song was over we both looked at each other and said that that was our song.

If you listened to the lyrics, it is more about how the best is yet to come after he gets the girl, but my boyfriend and I like to also see it is the best is still yet to come once the relationship starts and progresses and that even fifty years down the road... the best will still be left to come. Believe me... we both KNOW that is cheesy.:anime:

Our second song is the Transformers Movie theme song. Knowing us we will probably pick this one to play at our wedding merely because everyone one else would just be thinking "What the heck?" while we laugh at our own private joke.

Well my old girlfriend and I had "Black Balloon" and "Smooth." Yes I know what Black Balloon was about, trust me, it was an excellent metaphor.

My current girlfriend and I have been together almost 3 years now, and our song is "Spin" by lifehouse.
